Too old?...AWG question...ICON 12"...Orion 1200D
Taking it easy on a sub and not playing it full tilt until it breaks in is a myth.

Depends, but yeah they will get louder as the suspension breaks in.

Need Advice on 3way setup
I would vote no on the midbass in the rear. Do you have any room in the front door? Maybe even in the kick.

Ha Ha, I wish louder was as easy as changing speaker wire. Prolly Psychoacoustics or maybe your sub is starting to break in.

Would like to get into a SSA Dcon
Argent builds excellent enclosures and he has a section here on the forum, but honestly those Khaotik boxes are looking damn nice and the price is good IMO. Maybe hit up Argent and see what your more comfortable with. He does excellent work from what i have seen. You could build it yourself. There are plenty of people and posts here that can help you. Take a look at some of the free box designs in the tech section and see if one of those would work.

Would like to get into a SSA Dcon
OP, all the SSA subs are still flat even when ported, so dont let that deter you from porting it. Tune to SSA's recommendations and you will be quite surprised with the output. Listen to Duran and 98, they have first hand experience.

Which crossover would you use ...
If you just want to crossover some passive components and a sub, I would use the Zed. Use the saved the money from the audio control to buy some sound deadener. That will help your SQ more then the AC will.

You can try it, but i would be very careful. Personally I would run it at 4ohm. They are efficient little suckers from what I hear.

That Geo just cant catch a break. You guys are abusing the hell out her.- I did not receive my order
Had the same thing happen to me today/yesterday with Fedex. The tracking said delivered front porch, but they were not here. Called them and they said they would contact the driver. Sure enough they were on my front porch when I got home today! Call UPS. They will ask for a couple of days to find them. If they cant find them, Fi should file a claim with UPS and send you new subs.- Big Will 150.9db @ 39hz, only 3k
Damn, just damn and on 750w per sub. Ship my subs already you tease!- 4th order bandpass in Cavalier trunk?
Welcome.- 95 Eclipse Father/Son Project
This is an incredible build and you Sir have kept SSA on the edge of our seats watching. What a wonderful build log this is. Oh and I agree - Subs > Grill, but on a side note charcoal > gas.- Any idea if I need to return this?
Pics too small. They will prime it before they paint it tho, so unless it's terrible they will prime and sand it away.- facing box up in the trunk
I am going to say facing the subs to the front sealed off or to the back would be your best bet, but try it and see.- Trunk Setup Positioning
The loudest I have seen have been subs and port forward and completely sealed from the trunk. Your seats fold so that is an option for you.- searching a shop for accessories
Good deal!- Strapping Amps
Yeah, I think I will strap them. After reading this and using the idea of the bolts, using heavy gauge wire for multiple subs wont be much trouble. Strapped- Strapping Amps
Yes, if i strap The final load has to be 2ohm. Having one gain is nice. Here is what i am getting at If I do not strap, I can wire each sub like so, and run each sub into the amp to get a final load of 1 ohm. x's 2 If i do strap, the wiring gets more creative.- Strapping Amps
Hey guys. So I am going to be running 2 Crunch GP3000D's here in the near future and I am wondering what the benefit of strapping the amps vs. running one amp to a pair of subs? My subs are/will be dual 1 ohm coils so I can wire each sub to 2ohm and let the amp take it to a 1 ohm final load or I can strap the amps and wire all the subs to 2ohm final load. IMO, It would be easier to wire the subs to 2ohm and then run wire from 2 subs in to one amp and repeat for the other subs and amp. Since I have never strapped amps, I am curious what the benefit would be and would it be worth the extra work to try and multiple wires to the sub terminals. - Team Decent "Punisher" Build
