What is your budget for the sub? There are plenty of nice subs that will do what you want in the SSA store.

I am going to take a wild guess and say anyone willing to pull out their backseat and install a 15" sub is not looking for accuracy and just wants to beat the block while sounding good. You should be ok with stock electrical with just 1000w, but if not add a secondary battery.

Sometimes too much detail is the problem at my house. My wife just wants the cliff's notes version. I know she really don't give a shit, but if I dumb it down she pretends to listen. lol Oh and edit to add, welcome to the forum.

you should contact the member icy_chris he builds quality professional grade boxes and i'm sure he would have a lot a good hints and tips for you. Huh? Are you his brother or something? His last box looks nice, but he said in the post it was only his second box.

When the box is closer to the hatch then the port is wide the hatch then acts like another port, thus, tuning the box to whatever the trucks resonant frequency is. That's what I was thinking, but it didn't change my score. My peak went up from 36 to 37hz, that was the only change. Move it back and listen to it, then slide it away from the hatch and listen to it. Sounds MUCH better I promise. Oh I agree with you there. It moves more air too, IMO even if the meter does say no.

I just tested this today matter of fact and my score was exactly the same. First time the port was about 4" from the hatch at the bottom and about 2" at the top (it tapers) in my Yukon. Second time I pushed the third row up and moved the box back over a foot from the hatch and there was no change on the meter, tho it does seem to move more air and sound louder to the ear. I was expecting to pick up a little but, so phycoacoustics maybe. My .02

I wouldn't mess with it if it was mine. Not really an SPL vehicle anyway and it's going to look like shit if you go ghetto up the roof. If it's not raining that top is supposed to be off anyway. It's a jeep, it's nice, it's loud, life is good~!~!~!~!
