  1. I couldn't say that yet havent heard them but they should be able to get louder than the aq while sounding better as well the z.v2 is quite something to see in person. i custom ordered mine with dual leads and NS cones so it is going to be able to take quite a bit of power at least 3k+ for daily. Oh reeaally? hmmm, i might just have to change up my plans.. VERY interested in seeing this done and getting your thoughts on it - When do you think you will you be finished with your install? Hopefully tomorrow night have it powered up but the weather is gettin ugly so ill do my best this is not as easy as i hoped it to be.

  3. What did you think about them? - how much power did you give them? They were pretty good drivers and took a ton of power had em on the saz4500d and i would still be running them if i had set my subsonic right i ripped the tinsels out of the spider and on the other THE same and ripped one of the cones off the spider, which by all means was not the subs fault it was error on my part and in that situation would have ruined just about any sub, but overall i though they were great subs for the price, but as you can see from my new setup the sundowns zv.2s i definitely thus far took a step forward or what i call an upgrade.
  4. What AQ subs did you have? HDC3? Yea dual 1 hdc3 coppers.
  5. Unfortunately i started to build today but only got all the pieces cut and glued the double baffle together, i also ran into some fitment problems which i got taken car of but as of right now the box is not put together as of yet, but the project is still in full effect. stay tuned will be posting pics of the build hopefully tomo
  6. Jacob is just the name of the magic lantern that comes up with all this Sundown Sweetness LOL, But yea he is one hell of guy, he runs his company the way everyone should. Im shootin for the starz with Sundown.
  7. Not sure if the Alpine has the customizable display background image customizable and button and display colors like the pioneer.
  8. i may be wrong but i believe both the alpine ixa-w407 and pioneer avh 4100 have 7" screens Yup, you're right. I was looking at the wrong Alpine. check out youtube for some reviews and installs on em thats how i came to decide on the pioneer. And of course comparing features and spec sheets.
  9. is there anything you dont like about it? Haven't found anything dis-likable about it yet runs through my ipod pretty quick which i liked some units can be slow doing that but has good control over it. The unit comes nicely equipped for lots of add ons and the 4v pre outs are nice.

  11. Oh and forgot to add The eq is pretty decent and has good high and low pass filtering.
  12. just bought the pioneer avh-p4100dvd and its a pretty nice unit for under 500 for closer to 600 you can get it with ipod cable and remote. Sounds way better than the kenwood i replaced.
  13. Thats the one of the old boxes for my aq 15's new one is gonna be 4th order 13cubes total tuned for 30-60hz range.
  14. Thanks Jake they are beautiful in person, and the craftsmanship is by far the best ive ever had. Can't wait to hear this setup, will be done with some vids hopefully by Sunday.
  15. My bad Jake feel free to delete the immediate prior post as DJ cleared it up 4 me.
  16. Jacob I know its not a shade but just wanted to ask on this particular design was the spider bolt down ring not a precautionary addition or option. I'm sure they are fine without them as i will not be putting more than 5k on the pair and you seem to be very happy with the unit as is. Just something i wanted to ask thanks. Im sorry if it does its hard to tell from the photos.
  17. Ill do my best with a build log, with some vids which won't start till next weekend, but i do expect to have it all up and running and tuned by Sunday the 21st, and again on this build i expect it to do good numbers but it actually being built to be a daily low note monster. the only problem with my first run will be i do not yet have all my batts because i have to see where and what size will fit after the enclosure is built but i should be able to put up a vid showing the beasts in action, stay tuned.
  18. Anxiously waiting for my 15 v.2's to get here Tuesday, them 12s you got there they look mean as hell, waiting for some more vids.
