  1. Has anybody had any experience with Rear-Firing in Single Cab? I plan on doing this or downfiring. The only problem with downfiring is the max bottom depth I can do is 12.5" so the 12" sub will be on the surface of the wood just barely. I'm worried it might not be enough support because that will leave about 1/2" on both sides of the Sub Hole. (Where ever the sub will be, it will at least have 2 baffles.)
  2. If you have money for BTL's then get them.
  3. Yes I need a port, i was thinking 2 seperate ports for each sub. layout would be Sub / / Sub all in one box. Do you guys think 1 JL 500/1 On each sub would be sufficient? If you want to save space it would be better to have one port.
  4. Thanks, and yea i'm still trying.
  5. Updated Design: I now plan on using 1 6" Aero port firing out the drivers side. It will only have the external aero, the inside will be "aeroless".
  6. Got Wood & Glue Supplies Also Got Another Package Today Compared to SSA 10" Icon Hopefully start on box by the end of this week.
  7. Is there a major sound difference for a 12" from 2.30 Cu. Ft. to 2.50 Cu. Ft.??
  8. Okay so I went to Home Depot to get some MDF, Glue, & Screws. So I see the 3/4" MDF and grab a sheet. Then I get home, take it off the truck and find out it's 5/8" instead. Would it be okay to use 5/8" instead of 3/4"? Its going to be for a Single Cab, Downfiring Enclosure, With a Double Baffle. Sub will be AQ HDC3 12"
  9. They would have to be the same. Here is the page to give you a better idea on how to strap. Sundown FAQ
  10. I would recommend 1.75 - 2.5 (per woofer) net volume including speaker, bracing and port displacement. I would tune around the 33-38hz range. You could do a single chamber box and create a L-shaped slot port. alright thanks ... i am sorry i do not know if i am misinterpretting what you are saying ... do you mean 1.75-2.5 cu ft with the sub in or with the sub out ... i know i get all confused when displacement is used in a sentence lol With the sub, bracing, port, etc. in. So after you have all that in the box you should have 1.75-2.5 cu. ft.
  11. Thanks. I will "study" how to use it to avoid blowing my sub. This little amp is like a beast!!! It's almost like a volume knob for the amp. When it's disconnected it's like having the bass knob at full.
  12. I thought the same thing.Either that or a couple of MiniHorses.
  13. I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't understand a sentence he wrote on this topic.
  14. my budget is at about the $100 range but i can find deals on ebay/craigslist so feel free to just shoot me some ideas for amps! I got a MTX 600 Watt RMS @ 2 ohms for sale. MTX 600 RMS
  15. Subsonic is a filter that "filters" frequencies below a Hz. Since your box is tuned to 32HZ then you can set it around 30Hz.
  16. Yea just wire it in Parallel. On the sub just do + to + and - to -. Then get a piece of another wire from Positive Terminal of sub to positive to amp and Vise Versa with of Sub Negative to amp Negative. LPF depends on your taste. 80 HZ or below. Subsonic depends on box. Ported? Tuning? or Sealed? Bass Boost -0 Phase doesn't matter too much
  17. Alright, thanks for the tips. Oh crap, I just noticed I spelled Torx wrong. Lol Dang it I can't edit it.
  18. I know, it's not really for competing or anything just the ease of doing it. Just to lazy to buy a terminal cup.
  19. Second Skin InsulPad Second Skin InsulMat Second Skinulate Second Skin ThermaPad
  20. Also, I have a question for the box. Should I get a terminal cup or should I just drill a hole and squeeze the wires through and put the wires through the box? How do you guys seal the hole? Can I use fiberglass to seal it?
  21. Here is my 3rd system in this truck. 1st was 2 12" Memphis PR's in SMALL PreFab Enclosure, & Cheap 400 Watt Amp 2nd was a 10" SSA Icon in Ported Box built by Audibel Customs & MTX 600 Watt Amp Now 3rd: Audioque 12" (Purchased Online This Morning) , 2.20-2.50 Cu. Ft. Tune to ~37 HZ ~32 Sq. In. Of Port, HF 1000.1, Second Skin on rear cab wall This will be the first box I build for a system so I'm hoping all goes good. Second Skin Arrived & Installed Also Purchased a Tox Kit from eBay to remove seats HF 1000.1 Pioneer-5000UB & Flash Drive & Amp Bass Knob Wiring under driver seat that's going to get organized. EDIT: Also Box Design & I'll hopefully get some Rockford Components and a Amp to replace front speakers, and front tweeter. If you have any tips, or advice please let me know,
  22. Just clicked on their profile and says they hasn't been on since Apr 14, 2009.
  23. No it's not the bass, it's just that a lot of road noise comes inside the truck so I got a lil' sound deadening to cover the back wall and replace the rear insulation.
  24. Just strap em together. Sundown FAQ EDIT: Dual one ohm is perfect. Strap the amps at 1 ohm each with a final load of 2 ohms and wire the sub at 2 ohms.
