  1. What? Taper it? Just for fun.

I built a ported box for my rlp-12. It's 2.2 cubes tuned to whatever it is. The port is 34 inches long and goes from 1.5 inches at the start to 3.5 inches at the end, i don't know if that would change the tuning or not. I based it off a 2.5 inch port and took an inch off of the beginning and added one on the end.. Outside dimensions are 22.5 x 22.5 x 14.5 inches. Im not going to do anything else to this box cuz im gonna scrap it. My gear my box having some fun with the box my half ass install doesn't the box just look all pretty. im gonna make a different one for the sub. This is the best sub i've ever heard. I just wanted to take it out for a quick 20 minute drive to listen to it but it ended up being 3 hours. I don't just hear the bass on its own anymore because it just blends in with the music, it's awesome. Either that or my inexperience with audio makes me think is sounds good either way im always gonna go with sq subs like Soundsplinter.

  4. Well it seems i bought the perfect amp for my sub.
  5. Ok thanks. I'm just trying to make sure.
  6. I just got my saz 1000d amp and saw that it had 2 sets of speaker outputs labeled A and B. Do i only need to use one of them for one sub to get my full 1000 watts or both of them?
  7. Get a head unit with a usb or a sd card input. Those usually don't skip.
  8. I know. I just found the website funny. I'm thinking of getting the porcupine seat covers.
  9. I found this subwoofer at http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=24 and would like to know if anyone has had any experience with it. It's a little expensive i know but does it sound good and how loud does it get? I would definitely want to try it out.
  10. Ok. Everything i said was wrong. To find sq inches for port area take the height and width of your port and multiply them together. You plug that in a slot port calculator but you need to know the volume of your box and remember that the space the ports take up decrease the volume in the box. You need to calculate for that.
  11. That still leaves you with 4.4 cubes with a tuning of around 50 hz.. . . with 3/4 mdf.
  12. Are you using 3/4 mdf?
  13. if your slot port 3 x 22 that gives you 66 sq inches of port area and that doubled is 132 sq inches of port area. The amount that takes up leaves your box with around 4.4 cubic feet. If your ports are both 21 inches long that tunes to around 51 hz if i'm using the correct calculator and that's way to high for anything except vehicle resonance. I'm only getting this on the assumption that this is a slot port with 3/4 mdf.
  14. Are those the outside dimensions of the box? I'm guessing they are. Need to know the length of the port to know the tuning.
  15. Welcome Tim. Home audio might be more rewarding but you can't drive your house to work and listen to your system.
  16. if ur going to buy one of these subs im pretty sure that can be arranged by mtx with a cost of $10k for the old 22" jackhammer =) But which one will i enjoy longer if it's from mtx?
  17. quarter-wave.com and t-linespeakers.org are some good sites. I also just googled t lines, transmission line enclosures, and just read a bunch of forums. I might build one for my 12 just to see how it sounds ( well you can't see sound but whatever).
  18. I wish sexy girls came with every sub i ordered.

Did you choose the daily or spl option?
  20. Did you put any stuffing inside the box? How does it sound?
  21. I live in Alaska and the amp was shipped by ups and my rl-p 12 was shipped via usps.
