  1. i dont really want to spend more than 30 on a pair, and lowest would be around 2800? i plan to have the 6.5 top off at 3,000.. should i start right there for tweets or a little under? and i dont know about slopes. my amp is at home.. i believe 12 and 18? haven't had a chance to really look at it yet.
  2. so im shopping around for some tweeters to be ran by my SAX-100.4 and i came across these... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=272-110 i dont know much about different tweeters, but would these work for my front end? if so, would i need to take the cap. off that is already soldered on it, and just use the amp Xovers? ill be running them with these or if you know of any other cheap"er" tweaters that are a good choice feel free to chime in
  3. yeah, as far as i would say that will be fine on a 4500. i still suggest that, just cuz my love for sundown and i know you wont regret it but im not the expert on electrical and that high of power, so you will want another opinion for sure.
  4. and what electrical upgrades have you done and plan on doing?
  5. like i said, if you have the right electrical you shouldnt have it top notch... nor should you ever. but even so if you have +- 100 or even 200 watts you shouldn't see much of a difference at that power lievel. is this for a daily driver, or comp?
  6. i haven't used any cadence equipment, but i have heard good things about them. if you have some time that you can wait for an amp i would recomend the presale on the saz-4500. save you a couple hundred dollars and i guarantee you will not be dissapointed in it. here is the info on it. if you have the right electrical (which you better, if you are running that much power) than this will put out your wanted wattage sundown amps are beasts! i have two and couln't be happier!
  7. no... was i supposed to? ive never heard about doing that, so i thought it was supposed to be there? thats scary haha should i take it out and take that off?
  8. if you buy your sub from Quentin you get the box for... free of half off. check his deals he has going on. just another option for ya. i got my box from him and love it great CS as well. just give him a ring, he answered all my ??? promptly and accurately. just my $0.02 yeah. check ut the posts like 2 above. I'm gonna buy from him(especially if i make the deadline in the summer sale) oh, haha i didnt realize there was a second page to this when i wrote that! my bad! nevemind me then

  10. i haven't seen it yet, my friend just called and told me what they did. but knowing them, im sure thats what did go down. i think thats what i have in my car, actually. it has been holding on for.. a year now? but im getting a new car soon so ill be doing this all again in a couple weeks. tips on grounding? do what the shop did, except with a nut on the bottom holding it tight? edit: question just popped up about the next install. i have a 100.4 and a 1500d. should i have seperate ground points, or would it be safe to put them on the same one directly on chasis?
  11. epic fail on my part... bad ground. but i really dont see why, it was on bare metal and it was a solid connection. but i guess im still learning. the local shop just drilled a hole and put ground there and it works. are some metals better gounds than others? or would it be that it wasn't directly connected to chasis? im not sure if it was or not i coulnd't really see, but it was close to it so i figured it was.
  12. ouch, we dont have one of those readily laying around haha i think he is taking it into the local shop to have them check it out tomorrow, hope that helps him out...
  13. we went and got a new rca, but that didnt help anything. tried a different amp and that didnt even work, but it didnt even have any led to show power or anything. when i try to measure any voltage there is no reading in ac but if i turn to dc i get like 5.6-5.8, what does that mean? think it could be the ground? its on bare metal with same gauge wire as power (cut from same strand even..) the deck is brand new, so im completely out of ideas.. anyone? :S
  14. with the same ac setting, when i first touched them it read like .2 and .3 but overall nothing. so does that mean bad rca?
  15. umm.. AC i believe? thought thats what it was supposed to be set at?
  16. so my friend traded some stuff and got a sealed 10" menphis sub and a jensin amp. before he traded it i had the guy install it in his car to mak sure everything worked, which it all did and sounded fine. so he traded and after running wires in my friends car and plugged everything in the power light turns on, but when tested with my DMM there is no output in the speaker terminals... here is a googled page i found on the amp... could the rca's be bad? im pretty sure they are wired right deck is an alpine CDE-102 need any other info just ask... im lost haha

T'm trying to find the right amp for these im stuck between the 125.2 and the 100.4. can i run those passive? ive never set a front stage up so ive been trying to find the differences between passive and active, can anyone explain or give me a link to read on this? i only have a minor understanding but want to learn! i looked on the 12volt but couldnt find anything, maybe i just cant find the right stuff i want? i would prefer the easier setup because of my inexperience, so im thinking passive on a 125.2, would that work and sound good? the porblems i can think of for active is if i got the 100.4 would that give too much to the tweeters, or would i be able to tune it down? and if thats too much would the 50.4 be a better match, or would that be too little for the midbass? i know you cant underpower it all, but im looking to get pretty loud. i listen to 95% rap and hip hop, and have a bl in the back. im upgrading from stock speakers so im really excited for this. any help in appreciated. and any more info you need just ask
  18. NO play or Pause button--only (i needed this feature to use it for SPL comps) you can only pause an ipod... nothing else i dont use the pause button on the one i have now, so thats fine with me CD player didn't skip even at 150+db, it still played just fine when I was burping 20hz at 146ish range.. this deck should be skip free. never been metered, but i dont think im anywhere near that, so i should be fine
  19. well i dont know much about the different features that HU can do, never really got too in depth about it all. just some general features i want are the aux. input in rear (not i pod) have something that can put out good sound, i dont need a ton of settings, simple is better for me. sub preamps (given haha) has to play cds, and a high volt reading if possible. dont konw what else to ask for. but my price range is ~150 but i would be willing to go up to 200
  20. front and rear is 5, sub is two? damn thats one of the things i like about it... isnt higher sub volt (no more than 6) better for sub amps? that was one of the few i found higher than two with the other options i want...
  21. so im shopping around for a new headunit and i came across this, which has all the options i want, but i havent used jvc before. it has good customer ratings, but has anyone on here used them before? should i just leave it be and stick with alpine and the good stuff or what? i would rather save the hundred dollars, but if its garbage ill leave it alone. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105KDS100/JVC-KD-S100.html?tp=5684&tab=features_and_specs if anyone has used the bongovi (sp) sound thing, if so how does it REALLY sound?
  22. I'm all for supporting, and participating in this program
  23. the rise in resistance is a natural occurance in every system, heat causes resistance in all electrical. you shouldnt really worry about it while shopping for an amp, just get an amp that CAN put out a little more than what you need for some headroom. but just because you have the power doesnt mean you should use it, this is just to prevent bad signal to your sub(s). here is a link to the 4500, which i would recomend over my previous recomendation of the 2 2000D. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SAZ%252d4500D-Pre%252dorder.html the amount of power that a sub can see for a 30 second burp is much different than the amount of power they can see daily driven, so watch out on what you see other people do. alt + batteries = less voltage drop, yes
  24. X2 sounds fun =)
  25. if you are wanting to run them at top power or whatever you want to get all the options. get dual 2 ohm VC and wire them in parallel to 1 ohm (per sub) to 2 sundown audio saz 2000D, watch your gains so you dont damage the subs. use 1/0 wire, do the big three.. get a new alt. and a couple batteries...and follow their recomended enclosure dimentions and you should be good im pretty 100% sure you cant post about trading/selling until you have 25 posts, might want to take that out of the OP.
