With that being low tuning, How much of this amp can a SSD handle? Like I said, it's a sundown sae-1200d. about how high can I put the settings on the amp? Which model of SSD is it? Not sure if people have the new ones or not yet. Even then it's going to depend on all sorts of stuff. I would still say to set the SSF around 28 and see what you can do from there. Would still help knowing the internal volume Just set it wherever you're comfortable with and make sure to watch/listen/smell for any stress. If you notice any change the setting 'till you don't have any more.

Speaker sounds like it's fine. If two amps are doing the same thing, it's probably not them. Check all your wiring. Make sure the grounds are connected to bare metal and are solid connections. Everything plugged in, terminals tight, bolts are tight. A couple times

Get a 9 volt battery and hook up one coil with speaker wire. Connect the - to the - on the battery, and tap the + from the speaker to the + on the battery (no NOT hold it on there, just TAP it). Do this for both coils, does the speaker *pop* when you tap the wire on the battery?

No, if it's reading .7 ohm per coil it's dual 1 ohm coils. If it was dual 2 it would be reading about 1.4

How did you have the coils wired to the amp? You have dual 1 ohm coils, can't wire that to 1 ohm. You probably have it wired to .5 ohm and sending the amp into protect from low voltage or something like that.

With that low of tuning and just guessing on your SSF you probably ripped something, somewhere. Knowing the internal volume would help, can't find that?

What's your box tuned to/cubic ft. of the box? What's your SSF set to? how did you set each setting on the amp?

You should still be respectful and contact them, not just wait for them to come to you. You may not even have to pay anything, just make sure they're ok with you advertising your business on their forum.

Thanks for checkin' it out. That's not my dad, but I call him my "second dad". Grew up with him and his wife on the weekends and any time off school, so they're family. Makes it a lot more fun workin with another person that's interested in what I'm doing.

If I'm not busy that sounds like it would be a good drive up. I just heard that they had a Lowrider show in Kent and some ppl got hurt or shot or somethin'...that's kinda scary...! MR2 Wow, didn't hear about that. Doesn't surprise me though. Tacoma/Kent/Tukwila area is bad about that kind of stuff..
