  1. How do i calculate sub and port displacement? I want to know exactly how much room I have for subs
  2. everyone voted for the 8's with that being said would they be worth the price with such a small advantage in cone area?
  3. all the builders that I contacted told me the exact same thing. truck boxes take more time to design than regular boxes
  4. its hard to find i good builder for trucks so im almost limited to the four 8's with the custom enclosure or two ported 10's in a prefab..sucks right? lol
  5. and your box is optimistically larger than the op's. I think your builder is dreaming and its going to screw you.I know... I'm willing to raise my seat 1 1/2- 2 inches
  6. I'm in the same boat as you..I have a 09 Silverado. some people told me I can do four ported 8's
  7. I want to keep it under $600
  8. so do you guys think i should look for an 8" woofer with high xmax
  9. my box builder don't build down fire enclosures so I would have to get a fox acoustics enclosure and I don't know how that would work with something a ssd or Q In my ext cab an upfiring was BY FAR the best solution. The seat is nearly hollow. Bought the most extra room.Perhaps your box builder is an idiot. Not sure how you can build one type of box and not another. actually we talked about it for a while I wanted to go with two high power 10's... he told me I would need a depth of 10 inches. I would have to raise my seat. that's when he suggested that I go with the 8's
  10. my box builder don't build down fire enclosures so I would have to get a fox acoustics enclosure and I don't know how that would work with something a ssd or Q
  11. everyone i asked told me quad 8's is the way to go...so i guess the front
  12. I been skimming the forum trying to get an understanding on these things, but still dont get it. What purpose do a processor serve?and would i need one for my system
  13. I found me box builder for my truck. the enclosure would be a little over 2.4 cubic ft. net so my options are quad 8's in a custom enclosure or two 10's in a fox acoustics enclosure. if I go with the quad 8's what's a good option to go with under $140 per sub our $220 with the dual 10's? I want something thats sound good but somewhat loud at the same time
  14. Lschevy posted a topic in Sundown Audio
Does anyone here have these components? if so how do you like them and how much power can they handle
  15. only high end components that i was to listen to was the morel tempo 6 and the focal IS165 both sound amazingly clear and its a $20 difference the two. I wish i was able to listen to the sundown sa comps. but no one around here has them and its no dealer
  16. I was able to listen to the focal performance series and the moral tempo 6... they both sound amazing
  17. What do you guys think about jbl component speakers? I been reading up on different brands and all the reviews that I read, I have yet to read a negative review
  18. well in your opinion what are a good set of components for $450 or under
  19. Every since i decided to change the 6.5 speakers in my truck and been goin back and fourth on what should I put in the front and rear doors. The sound I'm looking for is something loud, efficient and keep it clarity when I crank the volume. Midbass and the ability to take power is a big thing for me also. i been reading a lot of different threads and these are the most recommended so here are some components that I'm interested in... 1.Jbl p660-Lots of reviews but nothing negative 2.Re Audio xxx-very good but to big 3.Hertz Hi energy165-only con is the price 4.Sundown sa comps-not to many reviews 5.Morel tempo 6-loud but tweeters not so good 6.Alpine type x-no reviews 7.Focal 165-not to many reviews but good
  20. I guess I would just spend more on the front stage.. And just some decent full range speakers for the rear
  21. ZeroI been going back and forth on that since I made the thread.. so if I was to have something like hertz for my front stage and something with less quality in the back, would that be some sort of a conflict in sound? That's why I was going with two lower budget components.
  22. I actually thought about getting a ms-8 or something similar... I'm still doing my homework on it
  23. I want to have an orchestra like sound in my truck, and I figured going for the surround sound route it'd the best way to accomplish that... any suggestions?
  24. how would i get center staging with a truck?
