  1. what would it take to have surround sound in a vehicle and about how much will it cost to do so
  2. how much sense did it make to have high end speakers in both front and rear doors in a truck? I said the Memphis and kicker components was ok sounding cause you can compare them to some pioneers, and that is not the sound I want
  3. And that is you building a box. I'd shrink it a bit to be safe which to me means 2 sealed 10's.If you want ported and 2 of them you are going to need to be creative or lift your seat. A single 12 ported will work though. with that being said shoud i look for subs that excel in sealed enclosures?
  4. I did a little reading on the new Kenwood unit I think I'm going to pull the trigger on it as soon as it's released
  5. so my best option would be the ad series from sundown
  6. so I do have enough room for two shallow tens or four ported 8's... correct?
  7. I measured a few times before I posted the thread..I saw a few installs with four ported 8's and dual 10's
  8. all these was heard after the focals so that's basically what I compared them to alpine-lacked mid bass jl-to much $$$ kicker & Memphis they was ok sounding
  9. actually ssa and sundown is my top two contenders
  10. yea...I have 3.6 cubes before displacement
  11. it's hard to go out auditioning when all the audio shops have nothing but kicker, Memphis, alpine, and jl. I heard the alpine type r and focal and liked both the alpines were loud but lacked mid bass a little and focals had mid bass and was loud and clear. the guy didn't tell me what model they was though. if I can find a set that comparable to the focals I would go that route. everyone like recommend hertz, ID, jbl, focal, sundown and RE xxx. so I'm pretty sure I will be going with one of those brands.
  12. i have the airspace so if you dont mind explain to my neither of them will not come close
  13. if i could squeeze out another 100 bucks will able get some significantly better than the ones in the $200 range?
  14. Does anyone have in experience with the kenwood dnx9990 or the pioneer avic-z150? I'm seriously thinking about going over my budget and save up for one of these..if there is anything better please post up a link
  15. it's a new body style crew cab... which setup will not fit?
  16. I need a box design for under the rear seat of my truck but the thing is I don't know if I want to go with four ported 8's with about 600 watts a piece or two 10's ported with about 1000 watts a piece...which setup will be louder? And who is a good enclosure designer?
  17. I listen to rap and r&b
  18. i looked on sundowns website and the sa12s need 1.7 will i have enough room after displacement for the two? i want to have the loudest system possible thats within my budget of $600-$650 for the subs. I wouldnt mind spending about $650 for an amp. Im really leaning towards the saz-1500 v3
  19. if i raise the seat 1 1/2" i would have 3.6 cubic feet according to the calculator on the12volt.com
  20. bump anyone?
  21. I finally go around to measure under my seat for a custom enclosure, now i just have to decide on a sub. Once again i have now i have no amplifier but i dont want to go to crazy with power i want to keep the price of the subs between $600-$650 here are my dimensions..i probably can get another 1-2 inches if i raise my seat TueMar02101245AmericaChicago2010_zps2089

  23. I'm still doing my homework with the front stage trying to decide on what brand I want to go with. but I also want some subs for under the seat. I want to install everything at once... do you think I'm pushing it with trying to go with 12's? or should I stick with 10's and 8's?
  24. because the iPad dash install I saw looks like it had a lot of modifications going on and I do don't want it to be my primary source of audio and video
  25. Um, huh? Don't think so. what's wrong with those enclosures?
