  1. I have the 880. So far works great. No faceplate issues. Most peope think its just an old deck.
  2. HiFonics Brutus have a solid reputation, makes very close to rated power and perform well. You should be happy with the 1700. Good deals on ebay with amp wiring kits included.
  3. Yes...but do your ears tell you to turn it down
  4. 500w not enough?
  5. Thanks for the reply. Trying to talk him out of an ID Max and towards an Fi Q.
  6. Friend of mind is looking hard at ordering a single 12" Q (dual 2 ohm) and running them on Leviathan in a sealed enclosure. He wants to run channel 5 & 6 on the Zed at 2 ohm giving the Q 500watts. Should he order any of the options (apart from high qts) or will just a plain Fi Q be enough? He's running a set of MLK's up front in his 2007 Caddy CTS Suggestions? Thanks
  7. Whats the best size sealed enclosure...1.35 or 1.5 cubes?
  8. Just wondering if 780watts from a DLS RA10 (@ 1 ohm) would be enogh power for a single 12" XCON? XCON would be sealed in the recommended size enclosure (1.45 cu.ft) hitting 80's rock tunes and jazz (NO CELINE DION!!! EVER). Thanks
  9. Want to see what four 8's would be like. Everyone with my car does 2 10's. Want to be a little different. 1000w watts into four 8's should feel great.
  10. Any idea when the DCON 8" woofers will be available. Looking to sell my IDQ12 and pick up four 8's instead
  11. I thought the birthsheet is a confirmation of the actual power output?
  12. I'm looking at the 16-MC5.700 It's rated at 55w x 4 and 400w to the sub. I saw a birth sheet and it said 100 x 4 and 600 x 1 Looking at either the DLS Iridium 6.2i or HAT Clarus 61-2 for the front and I have a single IDQ12 D4v3 for a sub.
  13. Anyone have experience or opinions on Memphis amps? I'm considering a 5 channel to run some comps and a sub. What are Memphis comparable to? Thanks
  14. I run an optima yellow top in my 89 IROC and it worked great. As for alternators....a HO can get costly and might be overkill. A stock Caprice 140 amp alt will fit perfectly in your car. Much cheaper option.
  15. Correct sir...HAT doesn't make an 8-ohm mid. I haven't bought the amps yet...trying to put together a budget. Just picked up everything I need to do the "Big 3" in 0 ga.
  16. Thanks. Any opinion on ARC KS vs Sundown? Looking in terms of overall quality and cross-over flexibiity.
  17. Looking at running active. Does "mono" really matter?
  18. Here is my set up HU - 880PRS Sub - IDQ12 (DVC) Front - HAT "L" 2 way (coming soon) I was thinking of running the 125.2 bridged 4-ohm to the IDQ (350w) 100.4 Channel 1 and 2 to run the tweeters in normal 4-ohm (90w) Channel 3 and 4 bridged 4-ohm into the 6.5" mids (320w) Can I run the 100.4 in regular and bridged mode at the same time? Does this set-up make sence?
  19. If I stay passive (the Hybird comes with xovers)...which amps would you recommend...the DLS or ARC? Thanks
  20. I'm getting ready to buy some amps for my set up and need to know if I can go active. I read a bit on active vs. passive but not sure when it comes to the HU and AMP requirements. Here is my setup HU - Pioneer Premier DEH-P690UB Front - Hybrid Clarus C61-2 (2 way) Sub - Single IDQ12v3 (DVC) The Pioneer HU xover specs are.... Crossover Network Two-Way Crossover High-Pass Crossover (HPF) 50/63/80/100/ 125/160/200Hz, 0/-6/-12dB/Oct. Subwoofer Crossover (LPF) 50/63/80/100/ 125/160/200Hz, -6/-12/-18dB/Oct. The amps I'm looking at are either DLS RA20 & RA10 or a pair of ARC KS 300.2 (sub bridged 4 ohm) RA20 (Front) - Variable high-pass filter (20-150 Hz) & Variable low-pass filter (40-125 Hz) RA10 (Sub) - Variable high-pass (subsonic) filter (25 Hz, 18 dB/octave)& Variable low-pass filter (40-125 Hz, 12 dB/octave) KS 300.2 - Crossover (Butterworth): 55Hz - 5.5 KHz variable 12dB High and Low pass Can I run active with either the DLS or ARC? Which amp combo is the best choice and why? Need advice? Thanks...........
