  1. Just wondering, what internet dealer did you buy this amp from?
  2. Its looking really good buddy. It's nice to see someone from this city bringing it all to the table. I really wish I had the time and patients for something like that. Or maybe I'm making excuses since I'm terrified of working on the Caddy myself. lol Can't wait for a demo!
  3. What about something with the whole subwoofer lineup? Perhaps put them all in a line or something and grab a side shot to see the size difference in the woofers. I think it would be a cool, more general SSA banner. Just an idea.
  4. Do they have a website? edit - you beat me to it.

Thanks for the comments guys. Much appreciated. I got a new phone today, an HTC Inspire. It takes great pictures and videos so I will have some up tomorrow for sure. (day off tomorrow. w00t!!) Jon, I plan on getting rid of these 15s and going down to some 12s (for airspace reasons) on . I'll bring it to you when the real equipment comes. I just wanted to get the stuff I already had in the car as quickly as possible so I could have some bang.
  6. Make sure you are using the correct terminals on the SAZ-2500D. I know when I got my first SAZ series amp I had it wired to a higher impedance by accident. There are pictures in the manual so just double check that again. I'd also HIGHLY recommend purchasing a DMM. Even a cheap $15 one from Wal-Mart will do.
  7. That doesn't sound fun. I was planning on getting one of those... Interested to see your results. Hope it works out!

No, it's not a prefab. You can't really tell from the pics but it is custom fit to my trunk.

I really like that Cadillac white. What subs are those and is that box ported? I tried to put 24s on mine about 2 weeks ago but they didn't fit. There is a metal plate under the front coils that rubs against the tire. A shop here in town wants $800 to do the "mod". Unfortunately they are the only place in town that I can find to do it so I might be stuck shelling out that cash.

Thanks for the comments guys. Any pics of the'02 Deville? The box is smaller than I had imagined but oh well. I'm happy with the way it sounds so it's working for me. I think 2 12s or some sealed 15s would bet a better choice for this trunk. Maybe some XCONS later in the year? Hmmmmm...

The big trunk is definitely a plus! That's why I like these big sedans. Once I get my hands on a good camera I will post some. Stuck with an older iPhone at the moment. Me too!

I've been putting off installing this because I just haven't had time to do it myself. So finally I just took it to a local shop and they did the install for me while I was at work. I'm very pleased with the results. I had these subs in a Grand Marquis before and it sounds MUCH better now. Anyone who has/had a trunk like the Marquis knows what I'm talking about! Here are the pics of the finished product in the Caddy. 2x AQ 15" SDC2.5 Sundown SAZ-1500D The Yellowtop is not connected yet as I picked it up from my dad after the install. I can always do that pretty quickly myself anyway. The Kenwood X592 is in there temporarily until I can buy a touchscreen. The almighty stock subwoofer porn:

Don't buy 5 grand in milk and you should be alright. Non-perishable items are win.
  15. All of this is straight from the website... Kolossus Fleks Wire Overview –Kolossus FleKs Power / Ground Wire consists of oversized, fine stranded, tinned Oxygen Free Copper (99.99%) conductors. By design, we increased the surface area of our cables to allow for higher current loads. (~300amps) Applications include marine and mobile audio. The FleKs Kable features an ultra flex matte PVC jacket that makes it bend to any radius and stable in temperatures from -40C to 105C. Colors available include Black, Blue, and Red. Notes –While our Kolossus FleKs Kable is oversized, most manufacture’s terminals will still fit our cables. The tinned OFC will resist oxidation thus making the cable suitable for marine or any high moisture applications. KCA Kolossus Copper Aluminum Kable (KCA Kable) has arrived! The KCA Kable uses the same ultra flex PVC found in the Kolossus Fleks Kable and the Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA) conductor from the KLMX Kable. Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA) is made up of 90% Aluminum and 10% Copper. CCA overall provides a cost effective solution to most audio systems. Assembled from stranded 34 gauge CCA, the KCA Kable is equal in size to the Kolossus Fleks Kable, but is designed for lighter current loads and not lightening your wallet. The KCA series 1/0 Black Cable offers improved flexibility over the 'KLMX' Series and a rugged PVC outer jacket that is impervious to grease and oil. The PVC outer jacket can with-stand the extreme temperatures (-40 to 105 C) and capable loads of 250A. Price is per foot.

I've been plenty happy with the 2 15" SDC2.5s I have. Especially for the price I paid. I don't have a "pooping" sound coming from mine, so I'm not sure what M5 is talking about. I think everyone who has heard them at our SSA meet in San Marcos can agree on that. They really aren't bad woofers. I can't wait to put them in my new Caddy.

That's a good looking explorer. I've always liked those SUVs. I think some beefy tires would look right on that truck.
  18. Honestly, I'd take the advice from some of the people here. Like you said, you don't really need a new alt, you just have some extra cash. Why not just save that money a bit longer and get something worthwhile for your vehicle?
  19. I was thinking about the 4300 for my DTS. How do you like it so far?
  20. I can't wait to see your rack.
  21. Not everybody documents everything they touch in their cars. Furthermore, 2 of them in particular are friends of mine who doesn't post on forums, or take pics of his install to show the nobody he tells about it. One of them swapped 1 amp, one of them swapped 6 amps. Ask around for people who have swapped and they'll tell you. http://****/forum/showthread.php?t=5340 That's an old thread, but going from the 1500 to a 2000 gained 0.7 and from a 2000 to a 3000 gained 0.8. The 2500 is actually close to the 3000 board. Even testing right there would be 1.5 dB. I am asking around, I posted here didn't I? I just think there are too many factors to say how many decibels you will see. Even if it is a rough estimate. I just like to at least see pics and/or videos of things like this before I believe it. It's like the three Lamborghini's I own, I just can't show you pics or any proof of them existing but I totally have them.
  22. I agree that Autotek is not the best 2k amp around but how did you acquire those decibel numbers? If it was from other people can you please post links and pics to their swaps. thanks.
  23. if i get like 2 15s and like 4500w RMS how many db will it do?
  24. If you check the Pioneer website it will list what options each headunit has to offer. Most retailer websites also list the features of each unit.
