  1. My SA-8's and SAZ-1500 arrived today!!!! There's more motor than there is sub on these 'lil meanies! Thanks again Jacob, you're the best!
  2. ^^^^^ This exactly
  3. The music sounding like it's circling around on stereo speakers is caused by a phasing effect during recording. I used to have a graphics demo that ran in dos that started with a big space ship coming straight at you and as it passes over you could hear it fly by like it went right over your head. Same principal, different application. There's many songs out there that do that, some are more noticeable than others. Creed has a song that does it as well. Regardless, ALL the recordings on CD, MP3, AAC, whatever the source is, is recorded in stereo and stereo only AND you only have stereo output capability on the HU. The fader is only to balance or adjust the level of the relationship between the front and rear speakers, not surround sound front and rear.
  4. THANK YOU JACOB!! You sent the email for delivery notification and tracking numbers yesterday and I never saw them (somehow) sayz they'll be here tomorrow. Thank you!
  5. LMAO.... that has to be THE best line in the movie.... along with that guys CRAZY ass look on his face when he says it...... LOL
  6. Yeah, that's why I hate stereotypes. I do love proving them wrong though. Happy St. Patrick's Day as well and BTW, Ireland..... Is MY Island!!! LOL
  7. LOL, sober and Irish are two words that rarely get used in the same sentence. Then again my family originates from Ireland, my first name is an old Irish name, and I have an uncanny ability to find 4 leaf clovers in almost any patch of grass I walk through.... Yet I've not had more than half a beer in 7-8 years and was never a heavy drinker, so I guess that either makes me a horrible Irishman or I'm just terribly un-attached to my heritage.
  8. ALL HAIL THE AUDIO GODS Don't upset them Duran, we don't want them to smite us all. LOL
  9. I have to agree with this, but I also have to agree that given the enclosure and ssf were accurately tuned and set that it shouldn't have over-excurted in the first place to cause that kind of damage. Are you ABSOLUTELY sure that the enclosure is tuned very near 32hz? If your tuning is off on the high side you could be driving them past their limits fairly easily. Also, if the box has ANY air leaks it could also cause the enclosure to have lack of cone control and cause the same problem. You have to remember that even a ported enclosure controls the cone's movement, as long as you're above tuning or don't have any leaks. If there's any leaks or you drop below tuning it no longer controls cone movement and the subs will play as if they're in free air.
  10. I'd like to make it up there this year...... I'm trying to widen my range on shows this year period..... I usually only make one or two a year down at Evansville which is only about an hour away..... Indy's about 2.5 hrs from me.....
  11. lol.... the tight knit brotherhood....
  12. Thanks guys....
  13. The only problem is I'm not an IAK member....
  14. Damn that's a long time to have no bass...... though I've had the Jimmy since July and all it has in it so far is the HU and PG RSD's... So like you I'm jones'n for some bass in my ride as well....
  15. 27 would be a good age to start having them..... I'm 30 with my 4..... started early but at least i'll be able to keep up with them until they're grown and gone.... And I think your "we need an IHOP" topic has turned into your IHOP topic..... lol
  16. its my fault.... should've pre ordered earlier.... lol that's what I get for not being able to make up my mind...
  17. Yeah.... my hat off to you...... I thought 4 were a challenge...
  18. Christ, 4 girls.... i have one (11) who drives me nuts..... though by herself she's probably not as bad as the three boys individually who are 9, 6 and 5..... but still..... that's WWWAAYYYY too much estrogen under one roof...
  19. There's nothing wrong with running unusual impedances if you're doing it for a specific purpose. For example, I'll be running 3 SA-8's on my SAZ-1500. I ordered D2, voice coils in series, subs in parallel will give the amp a 1.333 ohm load. Now, those subs are rated 400wrms, the amp at 1 ohm delivers a RATED 1500wrms. That .3 won't give a noticable drop in power to the 8's and each will recieve right around 500wrms. Also, with the amps reputable ability to produce more than rated power it will be MORE than enough power to get the 8's going quite well. OP, if you would like to go with the three 8's then go for it. They'll be happy in about 3cuft net space and they'll give a MUCH better wow factor than the 15". Just my .02

There's an absolute TON of information on enclosure design and building practices on the interwebz, search is your friend on that one. Problem is no one can help you design a box without first knowing some very important information. We need the maximum dimensions you have available for the enclosure, an idea as to how you'd like to have the sub and port located on the enclosure (i.e. sub up/port back, sub up/port up, sub forwad/port up, etc.). A little bit of info like that will go a long way in helping you to design and get the PROPER enclosure for that sub built.
  22. EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. I watch for people to be in there all the time, then when I go in and try to start a chat, I NEVER get an answer. I'd love to chat live with someone sometime.
  24. Try this again, little more detail this time.
  25. ^^^ this in both the working and non-working states. It will tell you what's up.
