o that customs! I hate them with a passion! they keep screwing stuff us! opening all my stuff repacking it like they never packed anything delicate in their useless life! lol plus they take forever to do it and then they nail me/us some times with huge fee's! fricken losers with nothing else to do! custom officers that is lol! good luck man and SSA will take care of you don't you worry!
  3. Hey guys so this year all i got for christmas was a tool set and some PJ's! which is cool but I thought I would get my self something extra lol! i did get 2 of the NS v1 reconed from a pair of 15inch subs,. you might remember my other thread called death of 15inch subs or something like that loL so I got those reconed to 2-12inch subs! and also in the last pics I compared it to the Skar vvx 12inch sub which will be going into my girlfriends car sooner then later!
  4. Merry Christmas right back at you! and a happy new years!
  5. sundown audio ns v1 vs skar vvx both subs are 12s
  6. interesting read! I have never looked into square woofers b/c someone once told me "sine waves are round and so should the speaker that makes the sine waves" it made sense to me and I never gave it a second thought! in all fairness I would never get a square sub because well i don't like how they look! also a side note the guys in the video is sales man and he was doing his job! tell you about the perks no matter how small they are! (25% increase on cone area) and didn't mention any thing bad! o well nice post and interesting read! thanks
  7. hey have you picked a sub yet? also as for your box design I would like to recommend a good friend who designs boxes on the site! here are the two he got to me! the first one is my box and the second one is for my girlfriends car which the build hasn't started yet! this is his site here http://nightmareaudio.com/ also checkout the glossary section! it is pretty good read! he can work with ANY sub and with any car! if you like I can give you his e-mail so you can get in-contact with him! he likes to specialize in the crazy style boxes lol hell if you give him good numbers he will design a box to port right into your car through that hole in the rear seat lol
  8. any other luck and happy customer! congrats man! and I also like to strap my amps together ( i have a pair of 2500)
  9. what? are you asking for NEW data sheets and photos of amplifier for your catalog? I assume you are a seller of Sundown Audio then lol.
  10. I got a buddy who is using a rockford fosgate one but he doesn't use it now he just learned learned he had to turn his gains up a little more. he was worried that having the gains at about 1/2 way up was a bad idea but I told him not to worry about it because the gain isn't a volume knob it is the gain! lol long story short he got rid of the line driver and he loves his setup now o he also learned how to set his EQ lol! good times!
  11. i am not very formilar with these amps nor have i read into them. you say joke? how so? I assume you say this b/c you know ppl who tested them and got a full 4k on 12.8volts?
  12. no issue with using other pre-outs as you will set the amp right! also if he wants sub control he could pick up one of those rca adjuster things i don't remember what it is called but it has a dial on it and you just hook the rca into it.
  13. so what is your voltage like in your car? do you have a voltage meter so you can watch the voltage? it looks like you put a lot of money into your build but you didn't get a voltage meter so you can protect your gear? like if the voltage is dropping how low does it go and do you have an issue with your amp going into protect? also have you done the big 3 yet?
  14. wow lots of fun!! looks very cool! thanks for getting that test done. i never really believed RF ratings untill now lol
  15. kill the amp.. yes and no you have to keep the voltage up. and even then.. which amp are you talking about again? and yes impious brings up a good point. are these 3 of the same subs? you are not mixing and matching are you?
  16. you could wire the 3 subs in parellel and get a .6 ohm load! to do this wire each sub as a 2ohm load then wire all 3 subs in parallel to make a 0.6ohm final load!
  17. question.. how did this happen in the first place? did you not tighten it enough? or did it just come loose over time? or was this awhile ago and you don't remember off hand? (like a while ago when you did the install)
  18. i just looked at the pics again wow! lol it looks like it melted together to make a brick of aluminum lol. I wonder how copper would have held up! any idea's?
  19. ya my t-shirt is on the way to Canada! who-a! and it is shipping from GOODYEAR, AZ I didn't know they named a place after a tire brand lol!
  20. OP have you seen this link yet?
  21. o wow it must have been hot stuff lol! is that knu cca klossus or how ever you spell it there expensive stuff also I wonder if 100% would have prevented this or just prolonged it?
  22. I say go with 2-4500 and strap them at 4ohm for daily and 1ohm for burp! as for batteries umm lets say 4 big batteries and 6 to be safe lol! maybe an xs power 3100, or kinetik hc 2400 or something around those lines of big batteries! as for a h/o alt yes sir get the biggest one out there! and yes 2 alts would be ideal! and if money is no big deal to you maybe look into a 16 or 18 volt setup for burp purposes! lol
