  3. so you wnat to bridge 1 channel of the amp and use the other one channel to power normal speakers? will this be okay it SHOULD be if you have a sax50.4 or 100.4 lol but other amps i can't speak for! which amp are you refereing to and also get a link for us! and we will let youknow if your amp is flexible enouhg to complish this goal!
  4. to stick my carpet to my box (mdf or birch in my case) i like to use the 3M glue called 77 or 66 they are BOTH available at home depot in the paint area! enjoy!

did you blow a tweeter... simple way to find out is to fade the music from front left to front right to rear left to rear right and if you hear no song coming out of ANY of those sections then yes you did commit murder to a tweeter! lol!! also while doing this test it helps to turn the sub off or down via the sub controls! and yes the smell was most likely the NEW sub smell of glue and what not over time it will go away!
  6. the guy won with a 139,,,was he doing bass race in the 139 class?
  7. CrazyKenKid replied to hove's topic in Build Logs
also i suggest turning down the gain a bit till the sub breaks in a bit more! jsut to play (pun intended) safe!
  8. CrazyKenKid replied to hove's topic in Build Logs
well anything lower then 12 is bad lol anything lower then 12 you are not getting full power out of those amps and you could potential damage the amps!!! keep in mind the power supply in the saz 2000's are .... 10-18 volts....ish i think i remember reading. soo keep the foot on the gas petal while pounding to keep the voltage up!

to set your sub sonic filter since it goes from 10-60 in the middle is 35hz so 20% is....18hz ish? also is this is a used sub? is it bnib? it needs a break in time! also how is your electrical up to snuff? what kind a voltage drops are you seeing across the amp(s) also you said you set your gains to 1/2 way so...what are the amps outputting?: did you check them with a dmm to make sure you you pushing XXrms? also have you tried playing with the gains a bit? down? up? also what is your hpf set at? or what position is it at and what are the max/ min settings on the hpf??

wow that looks awesome! good work man keep it up! also i love the wires you got going from the 100.4 to the speaker lol!
  11. Gary i think I will come to visit you one day and use your scope! lol!
  12. very good idea!!! thanks again
  13. lol so you don't get head aches!! lol!!! good call! another fast question doesn't the remote gain knob on the saz amps do this also..or not really or for my application this device you suggested work best in my setup!
  14. does that just modulate the rca voltage then? almost like the sub controls on a h/u? also if i use one of those would i set the gain on the amps to max?
  15. PAC gain controller can you post a link? and yes i completely forgot about the subsonic filter crap... yes it can fit into the rear seat and that is how i will set my subsonic filter!! thanks for the great idea's! i know i can always count on you for a good idea!
  16. so my 2-SAZ2000's will be hidden under my sub box as soon in this pic here: . so as you can see i will have no access to my gains to fine adjust them! so then i thought well if i max them out AND plug in the remote gain knob and follow my ears for clipping and bottoming out and such, all the while using the gain knob now will this work? did i over or under think this? did i miss something? like is it bad to turn up the gains all the way then use the remote to turn them down(control them) i assume what i want to do will work but i just wnat to double check b/c once everything is in lol i don't want to take it out just move the gains an 1/8 of an inch down or up if you know what i mean? any other idea's would be welcomed also! also you can view my build log for more pics! 95 Grand Am build - SSA Car Audio Forum
  17. so you want to get a 1200rms amp (that is a nice amp btw) to push 2-subs rated at 250rms each right? so in total you only need about 500rms tops? so now i must ask why are you getting a 1200 for a 500rms subs? do you plan to upgrade to 4 subs down the road when the money comes in? or for a future application? if you don't plan to do any of that maybe jsut get an Orion 600D amp and call it a day that way you can play it safe! i know some times when i drink to much and i want to pound my subs i don't hear stress lol so maybe over powering subs isn't a good idea!! other then that here is a the amp i speak of! Orion 600D Amp: Mono - Car Amplifiers at Onlinecarstereo.com the last time i seen one on ebay it sold for 45$ lol i know b/c i was bidding on it and i got screwed on the last 5secs of it lol!
  18. hey welcome to the forums and we are all noobs at one point in our life! to answer your question you can run any number of subs off of a mono amp! mono means single channel. keep in mind as you add subs to the amp each sub will share the power. so for example if you have a 1000rms amp and put 4 subs on it each sub will see 250rms each!! make sense? also if you have anyother question and feel scared to ask them in pubic (on the forum that is) feel free to p/m (private message) me any time! i am always glad to answer questions!!
  19. the only time why ppl use these is b/c they don't have an amp and the h/u is an older h/u with out fancy features!! but question with no bass you music will sound like it is missing something...in the future do you plan to get an amp and or component speakers? and how much do the bass blockers cost? also how much did the little 4x6 speakers cost? what i am getting at is if the speakers costed 50$ and the bass blocker costs 50$ then you just spend 100$ you could have used towards an amp (like 50x4@4ohm, sax50.4 for example) or a decent h/u with better then nothing features. other then that i have seen those used when someone wanted to keep there stock h/u (the one that came with the car) as for speakers which aren't component speakers, depending on the make and power capacity i normally play around with it and see when the speaker stop bottoming out which i found on my 6x9 pioneer 5way speakers to be about 150-200 if memory servers. other then that good luck and post back what you end up doiing!
  20. the secret you speak of is it in picture 3 if not it must be in pic 1!! (the sticker) overall awesome job and a nice read! maybe consider this for the technical section?
  21. very nice!! tuned in for sure!!! as for a cnc router lol where do i get one lol!!!
  22. no the fuse isn't your issue a fuse doesn't limit current it only breaks the circuit once the max current (150amps) is reached! as for your issue don't be so quick to say low voltage. i would think other wise and if memory serves the 1200d V1 (i know you have a v2) had this issue hell i had it with my v1 although at the time i thought it was my h/u skipping lol but to double check low voltage simple get a buddy in the back with a dmm touch the input terminals the power and ground and turn it up till it cuts out and have your friend record to remember the lowest voltage drop and then do it again then report back here for further help! or with rather with your findings!
  23. well today was a success kind a lol!! bad news first the false floor gave me all kinds of issues and wasn't very flexible at all. long story short the false floor was holding me up big time!! the fans and wiring had to be moved back to the very rear of the trunk as the box had to slide in a bit more then i planned i guess i didn't take into account my stupid angle of my back seat! lol! now the good news i cut the false floor down and screwed it to the bottom of the box that way i still get the same effect of a false floor... i hope!! the 11.5inch sono tube i picked up was to big lol opps! time to rethink that one! o ya and i got the box into the car!!! YA but my trunk wouldn't close due to the automatic trunk release being in the way so i had to move it! at any rate here are some pics boo and or congratulate me either or enjoy!!
  24. RIP Fi sub...
  25. i will take some pics tomorrow with the box and subs in there! then come this weekend i HOPE to have the port and foam all done lol!! other then that the only thing i have on the go is my door pannels and a place to put the sax100.4..... i hope i can find somewhere to stash it!!
