95 Grand Am build
well a little more progress today! i got nearly the whole sub box all done all i have to do now is cut my sub and port holes. also so everyone knows i lost a good close tool today.. my poor 20year old jig saw... tear... here is is RIP now i also got around to laying out my sub woofer! onto the piece of wood! check it out! and yes the one is a little bit rusty and will need some fixing up! onto the box please note the i will not be installing the front baffle UNTIL i get the box into my car as i know this will be nearly impossible to put into my car as it is now! so i will try to give my self a better chances at best! I am currently waiting on my JIG (or jasper as some ppl call them) to cut out my sub and port holes and that is due (finger yet again crossed) on friday! lol. and incase you are wondering I did cut back the front baffle as a piece to the right was left on! other then that tomrrow (thursday) I hope to pull out my seats and amp (sax100.4) again and getting ready to toss the box in friday or saturday depending on when i get my jig/ jasper in. in the mean time I need some help on my front stage here is a pic of my door pannel this above section can actually come right out and those dimensions at max are about 19-20 by 13 tall so any ideas would be good.. i am thinking about just taking that section out and building up MDF some how then mounting my speakers that way. as it stands i only have about 2.5inch of room of depth to mount with and if i build it out some i could get a bunch more in that area. I will be thinking about what to do with this area of the car. and yes before you ask I already have another pair of component speakers ready to pop into the front stage. as of right now i am waiting for a good idea! but let me know what you guys thing and we can go from there

More Sundown Issues Unfortunately
lol i don't buy reburb period but on ebay that is what i HAVE seen and also heard of from other ppl! and yes vent it all out and NO you shouldn't expect that ALL the time and not esspecially form db-r!
-
More Sundown Issues Unfortunately
umm what would Jacob have to do with this sale? this is a db-r issue not Jacobs. plus right now i think he has a ton of stuff on his plate!

More Sundown Issues Unfortunately
it looks like you keep getting some dumb luck I am sorry to hear that now onto the testing bit, i assume the way they test amps is they test 1 in ever 10 or 100 or so that comes out of production and i don't think they spends hours testing 1 in 10 or 100 so i guess your amp is the exception also keep in mind this is a reburb and amps are hard to fix due to all the small parts and if you miss 1 it could lead to more issues basically it is tedious work but it has to get done and getting it done correctly isn't an easy task! now onto the actual issue... if this was the case for all the amps (the saz3000 model) i am sure there would be more cases or a bunch of broken ones on ebay for sale. other then that i feel for you and i am sure they are doing all the can but also keep in mind you purchased reburb not saying reburb is bad but it is just risky and remember you are lucky that db-r is a SUPER nice company with an awesome rep and they are taking care of you the whole way though most other company's give you like a 10 or 20 day warranty and by the time ppl get stuff install it is already to late and they are like screw you warranty is void you are on your own. so ya i did read though the issue and man i am sorry to hear them all my heart goes out to you... (in an un-gay way that is lol)

Orion HCCA D2400
hey i don't mean to rain on your parade but when my kickers output transistor went i also had a few other piece on the output go i don't remember what the other piece were but my bill came to nearly 200. also to fix this you need to be able to solder on the board and you have to be careful and have small tools. fixing an amp isn't like fixing a car (due to amps having small @$$ pieces to deal with) ti is a little bit more then that. like do you know the part number(s) you need do you knwo if it is JUST the output trans? it could be more or not even that! also do you even know what a transistor is? i am sorry i am not try to rain on your parade or belittle you heck i don't even know your knowledge of or background so if i am wrong please correct me.

95 Grand Am build
So school is finally over, the weather is finally starting to turn around and everything is looking good for a new build! So to start things off here is the box I will be building the over all sizes are 30x36x17.5, this box is a master piece of shizzzon designs! (look him if you need help with a weird install in a small spot!) he cubics before displacement are like 7~ and after 6.5~ and tuning is 40hz (may change in the future) Now here is my old box and as we can see the mdf soaked up the water like a sponge lol! so needless to say i had a leak issue also if you are interested here is a link to my old build. Onto the bad parts in the trunk, also not shown the tail lights were leaking BAD and i had to reseal those puppies fast with a sealing agent! Next item to talk about is the equipment which will be going in! I also deaded my trunk and installed a false floor! take a look In this build I will be using 4 fans to help keep the sub amps cool as they will be hidden under the sub box, as I have taken out the spare tire and the thing holding the spare tire in the well. other then that my last build was 144db's on 1-saz2000 this new build will be double the power and double the cone area! and maybe i will upgrade to a pair of saz2500 but we will see on that as nothing is set in stone. Tomorrow (Monday may 10th) I hope to have the box finalized as in all pieces cut and nearly 100% done and sub holes will be cut out some time this week also. I have also started my new job on Monday and I will be working 10-11/day so this build could be a while in the making lol! keep in mind this is about 1-2days worth of work I don't work very fast i take my time and do it right and enjoy some beers! also any idea will be cool and anything you want to ask go for it! Other then that this build is completely done using birch 3/4! it is very very nice stuff to use and very easy to work with! Cheer's Kenneth (time for Chinese, msg pumped food)

Looking for a builder for enclosure
i am sure who ever some knows will charge an arm and a lag for labour.. why not do it yourself? mdf is cheap stuff to buy and a little combersome to work with but all that aside they aren't to hard to build. all you need: bunch of screws(1.5long) screw driver 3/4 mdf sealant(cauching) and some free time plus a why to cut the wood. if you go to home depot with dimension they will do all the cuts for you and they are normally with in less then .125 to the size you called out although last time i was there he was off by like 1inch so lol i guess he read the number wrong.!! other then that boxs are fun to build. would you need help with a bulid sheet? what kind a box are you looking for? i know for my first box this site was my friend RE Enclosure Calculator please note the RED letters as you can input your own numbers in those spots! if you need more help drop me a p/m

My first build (questions)
lmoa or mail him one!!! lol nice!! other then that if you are worried you will blow one of them due to improper gain settings or an odd mp3 not being normallized and potential doing damage to the subs jsut turn the amps gain down some and let them break in before giving them full power?
-
100.4C Bridged @ 8ohms - what is the output
umm you are only going to be using 1 channel since the sub is a single voice coil? if so based on the ratings ----RMS power, 4 ohm bridged 320W x 2CH you could see around 170-200~~ kind a expensive amp to be using to push a sub at like 200rms no? maybe pick up a cheap amp off e-bay for a few bucks? or why not flip the 100.4c? o wiat you siad you are upgrading lol so right now you need something to hold you over?
-
My first build (questions)
umm 1500 divide by 2 = 750? isn't that what the drivers are rated at? also keep in mind more cone area = more db's and more power also =more db's and yes sundown is an awesome amp to use have you given any thought to yoru cars electrical? extra batteries, h/o alt, big 3 etc..? also keep in mind since you got d4 subs you can only run a 1ohm or 4ohm load so no 2ohm load for you sorry
