  1. like ppl like to say fuse to the wires capability! since that wire is rated at 250amps i would fuse to 250 amps! no need to risk a 2g system due to a fire and only over a 10$ item! if I were you I would just pop over to your local shop pick up the correct fuses then tell knu to send you 2 -250amp fuses and you return the 300amp fuses then once the 250 come from knu return the ones you purchased at the local audio shop! that way you aren't out 10$ and you don't risk ANYTHING! also keep in mind you MIGHT be okay with the 300amp fuses but unless KNU gives you something with writing on it say 300 is good enough and if something happens (due to too much current and the wires jacket catches fires due to much amperage though the wire) they will cover your ass b/c your insurance company will not! lol!
  2. you do relize that a single run of 1/0 can do about~ 245Amps of current (pending on the wire) and the 4awg can do about 130each / run..
  3. wiat so you want to toss 2 runs of 1/0 reduced to 4awg of the POSITIVE and ONLY have 2- 4awg ground wires...
  4. HOLY mother! you might as well call this the saz3000v2 lol!! and rebadge the 3000 as the saz 2500 lol! jk!! but super nice job on that amp!!
  5. p/s OP did you get the answer you were looking for? here is a link i found for you incase you didn't regarding strapping Sundown Amplifier FAQ - SSA Car Audio Forum and you still need to run power and a signal wire (remote)
  6. tuned in! he siad LAY it on him!! and for kicks me to lol!
  7. good plan! keep us updated and make sure to take some pics and post up a build log!
  8. crap water is bad.. i guess i am on the hunt for some wood! thanks for the tip When that gets wet your eff'd. I take it apart and fix it pronto.
  9. lol overkill ftw lol!! plus the door shuts a lot better now! sure it is heavier... lol!! OP and rule of thumb dont' BUTT up deadener to each other provided you are going to go though with deadener lol! actualy how long do you plan on keeping the car?
  10. i just covered my entire inside of the door with sound deadener lol! 3 layers behind the speaker, 2 ontop of that and 1 ontop by the window line! and on the bottom about 2 layer again! it took forever lol!
  11. crap b/c i ended up using drywall! lol it happens i guess!
  12. would a piece of drywall work also?
  13. lol same here! when i first came here i was reading a ton then once i got more confident i jsut starting replying all over the place to help ppl out the best i could with the knowledge that i knew! and yes i learned how to look dumb as you can see in some of my earily posts lol! but hey that is why this is one of the best if not the best forums around! it has a SUPER good and smart community with plenty of helpful ppl! learn grow and help! and enjoy your stay i know i do!
  14. umm i am pretty sure those things will ACT as an incluse and sufficate any and ALL speakers... the only thing you can do to beef up the SQ is to invest in a pair of component speaker and AND sound deadener!! when i added sound deadener to my doors i was liek WOW i cant' believe i didn't do this sooner! lol! although most ppl think sound deadener for a piar of speaker isn't worth it but only worth it for component speakers! using an amp will also give you the best benifit as you are doing already! so congrats!
  15. n/p man you are welcome! any time!
  16. that is what she siad! and me!
  17. so they are useless so to OP scratch that idea! lol! any other unanswered question you need answering? we are herer for you!
  18. umm i c sounds kind a cool! coudl you use them for comps? also how much volume do they give each speaker... is this liek poor man's sound deadener? or a way around deadener?
  19. wtf are those? are they like a speaker mount?
  20. umm i am a bit lost lol!! if you are giong to put SOMETHING behind a speaker it WILL take up space therefore taking UP cubic volume. maybe try to draw a pic in paint...
  21. back stop... do you mean a RING behind the speaker it self? and also WHY do you wnat to add volume if you have crap speakres and if they are crap why bother amping them? now if you have 2-sets of speaker so 4 speaker total hooked up to a 2channel amp you would have 2-speaker per channel and since both speakers are single 4ohm coils they would be hooked up in parrellel so the ohm load would drop to 2ohm per channel! but depending on how you set it up you would lose either your fade or L/R balance umm i thikn that is what you are asking.... if not pplease restat!
  22. fixed? congrats!!! and good luck with the next setup!

umm the night shade V1 are discontinued... so i ASSUME you already have one and wnat to get a recone BUT with more spiders! correct? anyways here is some help SPIDER Everyone familiar with a speaker has seen the flexible corrugated woven material that exists just below the cone. This is the spider, which is a part of the speaker that helps maintain linear movement of the voice coil. This maintains control over the entire cone movement. Spiders are generally made of cotton, poly-cotton blend, or conex. They also come in a variety of sizes. However, the major difference between spiders is the number of corrugations, meaning the valleys and peaks, and the heights of these. This is important because some speakers have longer throw than others. The wrong spec spider has the potential to break down quickly and create "spider sag." That can greatly affect the sound quality of your speaker. i STOLE this from here: please read and i give FULL credit to this site! 24. and yes 2 fuses on each positive run to besafe b/c either battery could short out and toss 5kAMP through the wire and burn it up and start a fire! so to be safe rather then sorry toss 1 fuse in on each end of both runs = 4 fuses total!
  25. remember though the fuse from the second battery to the amp aren't needed but other say they are! that is just my view on it! my thinking is if the amp has a 300amps of fusing on it and if your wire is rated for 300amps of current the fuses on the amp will blow first cutting the power draw so all the current in the wire will be gone once the fuses on the amp blow. so no need to double fuse! now if those fuses fail lol Then there is the potential of 300amps of current in you wire at one time and current makes heat and heat could melt the wires jacket leading to a fire! hench why some ppl like to double fuse!! but someone once told me the more fuses you use the less conductivity (or something like that) you will have leading to less power..!... sorry i don't realy know the idea behind fusing the wire to an amp if the amp already has fuses on it! the idea behind fuses is to protect the amp if the battery shorts out and to protect your car... actually somebudy from this site had a kinetik hc1400-1800.. and it internally shorted out it was nassty!!! i wish i could find the link!
