  2. the stingers ARE NOT that bad you know. you cna alway put a piece of black tape over the stinger part or use a some bubble gum packing as a filter! (it is what i do)
  3. here you go! RED http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Red-LED-Volt-Meter-DC-7V-30V-Doesnt-Require-A-Power_W0QQitemZ250594868705QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Audio_Video?hash=item3a589e3de1 BLUE http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Blue-LED-Volt-Meter-DC-8V-30V-Doesn-t-Require-A-Power_W0QQitemZ250593344131QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Audio_Video?hash=item3a5886fa83 or the stingers lol!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STINGER-SVMB-BLUE-DIGITAL-VOLTAGE-METER-GAUGE_W0QQitemZ230438807521QQihZ013QQcategoryZ33681QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m444QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DCRX%26its%3DC%252BS%26itu%3DSI%252BUA%252BLM%252BLA%26otn%3D5%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8433225088394349642
  4. most definitatly one of those batteries in the rear for starters lol! I would say put 2 (if you cna fit it) batteries in the back 2-1400 or 2000. but an extra battery in the back to help and a VOLT meter woudl be ideal! so to start if you are on a budget buy 1 2000 and put it in the rear and buy a volt meter so you can monitor the voltage of the rear battery to see what your amp is getting,...if the voltage stays above 12.5-12.8 you don't need the 1400 in front. this will ALSO depend on your listening habbits!!!
  5. hey guys another question about LED placement? where would i put them? infront or behind the acrylic? or better question how do you mount LED's so you cna see the entire inside of the box? plus will the mirror have any negative effect with the leds?
  6. umm i c! thanks guys! so here is the price break down, lexan is 100$/ square foot (so 12x12x1) and the other stuff acrylic is 130 for the piece i need cut to size (1x36x18) so it looks like i am spending 130$ bones lol!! o well it will look sick when it is all done!! thanks everyone for your input and the mirror glass idea! thanks again!
  7. wow i like!!! congrats i cant' wiat for your review!
  8. umm i c! thanks i will look into some prices on polycarbonate rather then lexan as lexan is a brand, nad all this time i thought it was a type lol! thank you for the info Matt!
  9. mirrored plexy eh... not glass? and yes more subs is the effect i was looking for! lol!
  10. I got a reply back from a plexy guy and he told me to stick with acrylic as it will not cost me 100$ / sheet like lexan does lol. so with your guys recommondations complied with his reply I will be using 1inch acrylic which will run me 50-70$~ around there and yes oldschool for sure you will get some pics lol one i get the nice weather and fak'in school is out llol! it is going to be a crazy build with a bunch of bracing and the bracing will be special as everything has to be compact and flush! Sub box bracing - SSA Car Audio Forum and thanks nem and oldschool for your help! 1 more question since we will be able to see into my box should i put a mirror on the inside or no mirror i am not sure what kind a effect this would achieve.
  11. also more info if it helps 2-nsb 90's 1-h/o alt current potention 300-400amps~ anything else that can help please ask!
  12. So to start here is my sub box so as you can see my box will be made of 3/4 mdf and nothing will be visible the only think ppl will see are 2-6inch ports and 1 slot! now let's say I replaced the front piece with a piece of lexan or Acrylic Plexiglas (racecar stuff I think...) that way ppl could see a side profile of the subs and then I could use some LED's and have a sexy light show lol! now more info that sub box is ~7cubi and 6.1 after all displacement the subs are NS v1 15inch subs, this is a TOTAL in the trunk enclosure. so my questions are: 1. will Lexan work 2. what is Acrylic Plexiglas a. how does it compare to lexan I am currently searching Google and I will report my findings but on first attempt i am coming up blank. to power the subs I will be using either saz2000/or saz2500 not 100% sure but nearly 5krms says 150db~~~~ around that, will the lexan hold up will Acrylic Plexiglas be as good. I have ZERO experience with each of those types of plastic and any and all help is very welcomed! p/s I will be using 1/2 thread rod to brace it all 2 from front to back and 2 from top to bottom idea, also if you think this is a dumb idea please feel free to say so.
  13. save your money! or keep the bill so you can return it in the future b/c it is pile of shart!
  14. Good Luck at SBN!
  15. oo that is where they were made! mom told me that santa made them up north somewhere in canada lol! jk!! but korea i think
  16. RF = power hog / power hungry sundown = awesome does OVER rated power on 12volts second to none customer service! need i say more! plus they are on sale right now! *(some of them are)
  17. umm the v1 i remember not to long ago on here some guy had a blown diode in his v1 and he send it into jacob and BAM like that fixed up and upgraded to a v2 lol! when something goes wrong with an amp jacob is the man for helping ppl out! he is even know to help out ppl who do somethign dumb on accident lol!
  18. first contact Jacob about this see what he says! get a dmm and MONITOR the input voltage to the amp. make sure to keep it at 12volts~ also have you done the big 3 upgrade yet? do you have a secondary battery in the trunk...do you have 1/0 going into the sae1200 *v1 i assume...
  19. ALSO make sure it is on A/C volts not D/C lol i have done that a few times! if it is on D/C and yet set it to say 30volts d/c you are actually seting it lower then when you pop it into a/c you will read like 25volt ac those numbers are just for reference sake! but A/C no D/C
  20. normally 5-10v to low lol! i guess my ears are shot lol!
  21. lol you CUN'T hear him lol and by cunt you mean CAN'T right lol!!
  22. sexy!!! nice
  23. funny storey though every time i set my gains via ear i am always off by a good -5-10volts! kind a odd and it happens like that ALL the time nominally 5-10volts lol!
  24. YES it is safer to set gains via DMM over ears! seriously go set your gain via ears then plug in the dmm and see how close you came! also the SAFEST way to set the gains is via a oscope!! with the oscope you cna see the output wave form and when it starts to clip (look like a square wave) you have tuned the gain to high lol!
