  1. what are the specs on this amp? also do you think the speakers MIGHT have shorted out (internally) but again how is the amp turned on?
  2. wow that is kind a cool! I like it! so 12v motocycle battery, interesting. what is the charge on the battery? I assume you have charged it up but maybe the battery can't hold a charge to long? how old is the battery? also how do you turn this amp on? switch i assume also how do you plug your ... ipod into it? or is there a usb hard drive?
  3. so this is a backpack setup... my mistake i wasn't 100% about the amp to begin with and i assumed it was car audio as we are on a car audio site? lol so how do you power this amp and can you send a link of this amp for reference? also I want to see a pic of this amp in a backpack, so do you also have speaker integrated in the backpack or is this for a head phone setup?
  4. when you say no blown fuses on the amp, how did you check them? visual or did you do a continuity check with a dmm or fuse tester? and you checked all of them right (3 or 4 onboard) now the next step is to check the remote wire with a dmm. If you get 12v on that little wire while the h/u and car is on then the remote is fine. when checking the remote wire put the positive terminal on the remote and the negative on the negative on the amp or the body of the car, which ever is closer at the time of the test. Next you have to check the power comming into the amp with yet again a dmm, check for 12volts, if the 12 is there then check your ground connections. if that fails check your rca's and check the fuse on the power wire going to the amp. next...umm report back for further help! if you have done any of this please let us know!
  5. wow that is BS about paypal man. Paypal should step up and hook you up dude. I can't believe that. and you know what he will get his time don't you worry dude! everything come full circle. but one more question and sorry to but i though that paypal would cover you up 20k if something like this happens... also have you tried to get in touch with the other guy who was scammed? maybe you two could do something about it and split the costs and take this punk down.
  6. so when will all this go down?
  7. hey I just noticed that wikipedia is blacked out for 24hours!
  8. I cant find any other sites right now. U might have to call a local representatives. I will continue to look. Thank u so much 4 your concern Yes I have been looking for most of the morning and I haven't come across anything, so I thought I would ask. But i will give a local rep a call later on today and ask if he knows anything about it! I have also found another video it is a bit long but i enjoyed it. The actual speech is about 30mins long and about 25mins worth of questions.
  9. hey i live in Canada and I couldn't sign up is there anything else I can do to help or show support?
  10. Voltage was good at the amplifier before and after the initial fusing on the power wire of the amplifier, I swapped out my 125.2 for my spare 4 channel and it's working just fine. i blame the 125.2 lol! will you get it repaired and or sell it? if you are interested in selling it... i might be looking lol
  11. did you check the speak? maybe a wire is falling off or shorting out on something. other then that did you pull off the back board and make sure something isn't touching or come loose? other then that do you still have warranty on it?
  12. and yes it is over kill for the big 3 as those runs are quite short and from my chart above it states 4awg can handle over 2500watts or 225amps at less then 4ft but to be safe and normally when people buy 1/0 they have about 10ft left over so they just end up using it for the big 3 as it can't hurt! hell go big or go home! although in my next build I will be looking into some 4/0 ask your dad what he thinks of 4/0!
  13. but be careful bass and car audio is an addiction and i have been trying to get help for years, although all i end up doing is upgrading.. i think i am hooked and doing something wrong lol!
  14. very true length does play a part but I am assuming you aren't going over 25ft of wiring! but good point stefan
  15. look at it like this! 1/0 can handle around 245amps (i think knu rates their wire at 300amps) 4awg can handle around 60amps so on 12volts and 245amps, 1/0 can support 2940 rms setup (245x12v=2940, but please remember that when you upgrade your cars electrical and add batteries your voltage will be around 13.1-14.4 depending on how far you go) and on 12volts and 60amps, 4awg can support 720 rms setup (60x12=720) so the 1/0 gauge also has a bigger cross sectional area then the 4awg there for there is less resistance and it is also able to handle a lot more current! and on a ground the bigger the wire the better! just some numbers to look at. keeping in mind back in the day a sound system would most likely be under 1000rms at a higher impedance, and today hell 1000rms is minimum for most people! so to your dad it is over rated but to me if you using 1/0 all that means is you will be upgrading some day down the road! wire chart http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm
  16. he is using it for two amps not speakers? or did i miss something...
  17. hey here is a good read! about pmpo vs rms! http://www.edaboard.com/thread4681.html and your amp is rated in pmpo which I have just seen today!
  18. when i strapped my sundown amps that is how i tuned my amps initially then i used an o-scope to see what was going on! Just be sure to be in VAC (volts a/c)
  19. nice and is that the same one smd tested?
  20. Shogen and stefanhinote thanks for going over that with me and your replies! I have been toying with going a big more on the SQ side of things and seeing if I like it or not. I have also been looking into going active but that still kind a scares me lol! O well when I get a for sure job I will be doing a few more improvements, first being the car LOL!! as you all know or don't my 95 grand am has 390,000km on it which is nearly 250,000miles so it is time now lol! and MikeMartel no worries man I was just wondering!
  21. I was mearly asking how you knew that is a great SQ headunit, can you tell me which specs scream SQ to you? I am just asking a question like if I ever decide to use my zapco comps and zapco amps what kind a h/u I should look for although at the same time I am not trying to jack the thread just looking for fast tips.
  22. okay so how do you tell an SQ headunit from a normal unit? "28-Bit Binary Floating-Point DSP and 3-Way Digital Network" does that mean SQ to you or does this? Auto Time Alignment and Auto EQ or do they both? just sounds like fancy words to an un-sq'ed geared kind a guy! lol
  23. some times people have to pay for help! might I recommend Ram Design! http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/user/17102-ram-designs/ he is a great guy who knows what is up and very knowledgeable
  24. try to see if the doctor can give your some oxy-cotton! take a few pills and sell the rest lol!
  25. my brother loves it! his last setup was a single sa12 on a sax1000 lol he loves this one a LOT more lol and yes this thread did turn out pretty good over all lol
