  3. yeah i see the battery ground to chassis thats no problem its less than a foot away from each other, its just the engine ground is where im stuck on, should i just mount the engine ground to the same spot as my battery ground to chassis(which is about 4feet in length roughly) or save a foot in cable and mount the engine ground to the negative terminal on my battery?
  4. I plan on doing this but i have one question as in eng ground to chassis, my car has the eng ground running to the battery. so I was wondering would it make a difference if i use bolt on my alternator bracket as a ground and connect that cable directly to the neg battery or should i just ground it to the chassis of the car?

  7. shoulda coulda woulda but i was on a budget and now that im makin cash flow i dont work for that company anymore as the y went out of business. Yah Caddys are solid cars i have a 07 suzuki , nothing fast i just want to beat down the block, I thought about running 3 10s in a sealed box off of 1000watts but i changed my mind and just went with a single 10 on 1000watts funny thing is my rear view mirror is solid i cant not get it to move for nothing
  8. I have all kicker system pretty much except for my 4channel amp which is eclipse. The only reason i went with kicker is because at the time i got 70% off their products so i went with their 1000.1 amp, Cvx 15, and KS component speakers as well as rca's and 0/1gauge amp wires. Im also in the process of doing the big 3 but im going to use 4gauge wire for now untill i can save up for a 200amp alternator for my car which iraggi just started making. I sometimes beat the out my cvx over the past 2 years and she still works just fine now on the other hand that cvx is beating the out of my rear hatch, not so much as rattling in the inside i have dynamated the inside rear panel but its my rear brake light starting to rattle real bad it still works just rattles like crazy I broke the inside piece that is behind the bulb like the red reflector piece is loose.
  9. oh nice I just want to go with a smaller lighter set up so far ive had my system for 2years and just recently brought a 10inch sub.
  10. nice mines just a basic enclosure with a the kerffed port I dont need anything that nice like yours lol

  12. yeah same here his work look good and he has good prices...
  13. Nice and clean
  14. correct. Im using the Eclipse Ea4200 which is rated at 60watts rms by 4channels my speakers in the front are Kicker Ks 602(75rms) Components and the Rear are Kicker Ks502(65rms) Components and sounds very clear. Since i brought that amp in March i got if for just under 200 now its going for just over 100 new on ebay would my highs be able to keep up with my setup?is 2 ssa icon 12's on a audioque 1200 so 1200 watts rms. thats a good question the bass would most likely drown out your highs but it depends on your eq settings I know when i have my 15inch kicker cvx it drowns out the words but with this Re Audio Sx 10 i have it doesnt but its all on the system settings. heres an example of my system. nice video!what would cause it to drown out my highs meaning kicker ks,would a bigger 4 channel amp fix that or you mean different components? a bigger amp meaning closer the speaker's rated rms would help, Now I could be wrong but the eq on your amp for your sub making sure the bass boost is off and the same goes for the settings on the Head unit thats how i managed to not have my sub drown out the highs and it also depends on the songs themselves, but like i said i could be wrong.

  19. dam duran the qs and ss are over 300$ way past my budget,my car has 6x9 in front and 6x9 in back do u think i can get a good component set for the front and just throw 6x9 in the back?would that sound good? And run the bacg speakers off the deck and the front components on a good 2 channel amp? Have you tried looking on ebay for a set of components? doing that as i type..any suggestions? well i dont want to get flamed im not a rep for kicker but they have the kicker ks 602 which is the 6inch speaker component set for $100 shipped. Also the Alpine Type-r Components are not bad but they are running $140 shipped also infinity kappa 60.9 components are not bad either but they also are around $140 shipped. Those are just a few that i know of

  24. coming from the dude with almost everything kicker in his sig... Good call. PT3005, can you provide us with some test results to validate that? If not then don't make such a worthless reply. well first of i was an audio installer. and have installed various amp and sub combo's. and have worked with alpine type-r subs installs the best install being two type-r 12 in a ported box and a kicker zx1500.1 in to a jeep cherokee dont get me wrong they got nice and loud but compared to my other install of two kicker cvx 12 in a ported box powered by a old school kicker kx1200.1 in a honda accord they seemed louder. to me the type r's are more compared to the kicker cvr's with the type r's being better, but not better than the cvx. So i dont knock alpine at all but comparing the type r to the cvx i would go with the cvx if ur going for spl. And for the person who said comin from the dude with almost everything kicker in his sig the reason why everything is kicker is because my old job had 70% off all kicker products so yeah i forgot to mention my kicker rca's and my kicker 1/0 amp wires and kicker fuse holder with the kicker 150amp fuse....any more reasons to hate? lol it doesnt matter why your running all kicker shit, the fact is that you ARE indeed running all kicker shit, so its pretty hard to think your not going to be a little biased towards the product that you listen to every day. and i would definitly call this hating by any means, id call it logic. you see a guy with all kicker shit in his signature, claiming the cvx dominates the type r with no decent explanation or any kind of questions about what kind of car or how much space available, etc., in the car of the person who asked the question. and you cant compare the type r's in a cherokee over cvx's in an accord, the accord is smaller and is going to have more cabin gain! for all we know you could have been burping 50hz tones in the accord and playing music in the cherokee, too, because you didnt even specify. keep on hating its all good because your putting on a good show and showing your level of maturity. and no i play the same cd in every car that install subs in that has a variety of music on it. But i see your quick to judge just because i have kicker gear in my sig. then when i explain the reason why you still on my N-U-T's, but its all good it feels good to have haters i am not here trying to bash on alpine products what so ever just that some people are quick to judge based on specs the cvx is better than the type-r , but hey if want to keep this up i can go all night
  25. We don't want misinformation floating around on here. Your more than welcome to stay here, I'm not trying to get you to leave. well im no here to do that, thats the only reason i commented on this post is because i heard both of these subs with my own two ears and so did the customers, I just felt put on the spot just because of my sig, I did not go around on this forum posting kicker is the best compare the specs of the cvx vs the type r. and with your answer your saying two 100watt rms 12s can be louder than your current set up in spl because "Whichever one is in a superior enclosure will be louder" im I correct? or wrong?
