  1. I gave the mli-65s and the 1" dome tweeters a test run tonight in the mock enclosures. I just put the speakers on the floor as that seemed like all I could do. Im sure it will sound a little different from the position it will be facing on the door but I think it will be ok. The SAX100.4 has PLENTY of power for both speakers. Im glad I bought all Sundown to run my stuff. Amazing amps by far. Jacob is the man! The tweeters are crap but the gain is only at 1/4 if that. They are cheap soundstorms. They still seem a little loud though. And kind of bright at moments too. The mli65s are at half gain and sound great so far. They are really filling in the sound that I wanted. I might have to tweak the crossover settings a little more but I think the tweeters were too loud to really tell. I'll have to go out later and get the exact settings on the amp for you guys to be on the same page. I have the mli65s on ch 1&2 and the tweeters on 3&4. I guess I'll keep the pods sealed as I like how it sounds now. Just not sure I'll get the same cubic volume in my pods as these test boxes. Will it matter that much? If they are sealed, should I deaden the passenger door? My original plan was to vent into the door so the driver door is already done. Plus I still have some damplifier left over for it. This is exactly what I needed for my system. I can actually hear the music again! Its great! I cant wait to get started on the pods. test run position

I thought they were a good company until someone said they are almost the same as Hifonics. I dont know about that though. I know the prices are competitive. You're pretty misinformed, dude. Im informed enough to not believe the first sentence. The second telling you that.
  3. Fugetta bout it.

  5. I tested it again tonight with a brand new meter that I bought. The voltage read perfectly and that oscope was whack I guess. 12.5 resting voltage with 14.4 volts running at the batt and the amp. Going to turn it up a few more tenths to about 14.6-7. Good enough for me. Might go back to that shop with my meter and have him try his oscope personally and see what happens.

  7. I just looked some up a few days ago and there wasnt much action on the west coast. At least for the big name comps anyway. If you find some, Id like to know.
  8. You lucky SOB, wish I had one. Where did you get yours and for how much if you dont mind me asking since that is my next major tool to purchase. It was along time waiting. I looked for a long time before finally deciding to buy one. I got mine from homenetworksupply.com for about $108 shipped to my door.
  9. Just tested it tonight and the voltage is spot on. I turned my voltage regulator down on my alt after seeing the crazy voltage on the oscope at the local shop. I turned it back up a day later cause the truck didnt seem to be running right. Guessed exactly right cause resting voltage is 12.5 volts and running voltage is 14.4 at batt and amp. The meter works great and has a little red backlight as well. Works well on everything Ive tested so far. Inside the house and out. Works great for me!
  10. Yup, it is 12.8 volt. I was thinking of an old brochure that I just tossed out while going through some stuff. It must have been the v1.
  11. at 12 volts...so expect more powa!!! Im pretty sure the E lines from sundown are rated at 13.8 volts. All the Z series are 12.4.
  12. 14-0.
  13. Colts FTW!!!
  14. I know I had one already but it wasnt the right timing. When it is...I'll get a used one. Damn that thing is a mansta!
  15. Well it arrived and Im stoked to check it out. Havent used it yet but this weekend it will get a good test run. Triplett 9320 meter
  16. Will do. Here are the mli-65 mock enclosures. Mli-65s w/ 1" dome tweet Wont install them tonight though. I dont want to set up the lights and shit, plus the colts game is pretty good. Plus Im tired as hell after painting for 8.5 hrs! I might just go up to the corner store and get me some scotch irish whickey though!
  17. Like with winISD or something? If so, then no. I downloaded the beta version awhile ago and havent a clue on how to use it. I fool around with it sometimes, hoping to miraculously figure it out but that never happens. I just thought it would be a good starting point. I finished them tonight and they are ready for install tomorrow. But there is a Colts game tomorrow also, so who knows. Going to wire them up to the 100.4 and see how it sounds.
  18. I live in the same damn town as him and I still havent looked him up yet. His shit looks viscous but I always wonder what it is tuned to? Good luck getting that box out.
  19. Ya, I think I will try a 2 way first. Much easier. Today after work, I got started on the mock enclosures. I cut and holed out all the pieces so tomorrow I can just assemble it. They will be .25ft3 each. Hopefully I will get them done as it will be a looooong day tomorrow at work. And Im already tired.
  20. I love this god damn thread. I have the same car and I get juiced every time I look at this one. This shit is crazy. I noticed there isnt any deadener. Just curious as to why not? Keep em comin with the pics. FGing the wheel well to the enclosure? I guess this build is gonna stay like this for awhile, huh? Awesome job dude.
  21. Soldering is always the best idea. Some like to crimp slightly, just enough to hold the terminal in place. Then solder it also. A small torch and the small roll of solder is plenty for the big 3 a couple of times over. You can find this at the depot for less than $10. I dont crimp at all anymore, personally. After getting the hang of working with the solder, I dont want to use anything else. Just heat the terminal and shove the solder in until it starts to overflow.
  22. Have you read this topic before. It will answer a lot of your questions. Big 3

They are supposed to be shipped out by Friday.
  24. A good head unit or crossover? My headunits have a lot of features that I dont really use or havent taken the time to know what they are.
