  1. Maybe some Chianti, perhaps?
  2. The SSD would be a good choice and paired with something up to 1000rms would be appropriate. The ported enclosure can be from 1.8-2.5cuft and the sealed can be from .8-1.6cuft. They are both pretty small so space doesnt seem like to big of a factor in an suv. If she enjoys all types of music and isnt concerned about getting too loud, then I would recommend going sealed. What kind of budget do you have on the amp? One battery under the hood should be fine for a setup like this. Just do the big 3 so there is no chance of major voltage drop. You dont want her to ask why the lights are dimming, do you?
  3. Try some Carlo Rossi Chablis, 2004. I hear its quite exquisite.

A little bit. It is Sundown in there already but it is only the SAX125.2 bridged at 4ohm which is around 425rms. I cant wait to test it with the SAE1200D!

Nice video and that 125.2 is doing its thing on that subwoofer. Yeah that video has me wanting to install mine asap, I only heard mine on home stereo at 8 ohms (so little rms) just to make sure it works. Thanks for the video man. Thanks a lot dude. The gain is only at halfway too. keep it nice and simple. I hate the volume on the camera though. This camera cant take the high volume inside my rides.

Just a little video that I made today with the Z15. I said I would so here it is. Its not too bad even though its on a 125.2. I thought you guys that were looking at Zs or already might have them would like to see this. Its 3.25ft3 at 35hz. Z15 vid in Geo
  7. Sucks dude. Good luck with the alt hunt.
  8. If the pos connection on the alt doesnt have a bolt for the power wire from the harness to run to, then you are screwed.
  9. okay...but i though it was a pico fuse issue whihc is why you are getting a TON of feedback. an easy way to see if it the pico fuse is to buy one of these put it inbetween the amp and h/u rca's and if the noise is still there BAM it is a pico fuse! this is a ground loop isolator! and if you want i will sell you both of mine (whihc i don't use any more) for 20$ shipped! (since i live in canada shipping runs a little more) http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=265-012%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20&FTR=ground%20loop%20isolator&CFID=3534447&CFTOKEN=32936016 and if it is just a ground issue these isolators will get rid of it for you 100%! hands down! (or SHOULD) Thats pretty funny. Definately...positively...certainly...maybe...hopefully.
  10. You cant find where the positive connection is on the alt? Are you saying the harness with the plug is the only wires attached to your alt?
  11. You arent looking to replace the wire right? You should be adding a new one and never should you attempt to take the stock ones out. It makes no sense if you are adding new ones, plus it adds more work.
  12. I ended up buying one today after waiting and looking for so long. It is made by Triplett. I'll let you guys know how it works and include some pics or vids in action. http://www.triplett.com/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=37
  13. Cant hurt to build another box if you got the wood already. Plus its fun too. And a little practrice never hurts either. I am guilty of the same. With my old system of 4 12s, it happened here and there. But since Ive had the BTL, I dont think Ive reached any limits so far. The excursion on this is nowhere near what I see on some of these videos. I keep finding new vibrations with every brave click of the volume knob! I see that smoke only for a second. Is that the dodge? GEEDEE UP! Plus I have shitty 4x6 coaxal plates in the dash with old 4x6 POS in the rear that I cant get to. I cant wait for the MLI65s.
  14. Are you talking about the test tones or the video with the dome light? If its the dome light one, thats not his truck. Its spleddys 12" Fi BTL.
  15. There is nothing wrong with doing that Chop.
  16. I think what he should have said was "recommended". They recommend all the Qs in a sealed enclosure. After all it is a SQ driver so why not put it in a sealed box? Unless one is looking for more output, which in that case, maybe one should have gotten a different driver.
  17. I just saw the video and I want to see that sucker in the light dude! At least you can hear the vocals too. My 18 is killing my truck and all the vocals. Thats was some serious movement with the 15hz tone! I heard somebody say there was a smell? Ooops! Just warmin em up!
  18. What kind of wire is that on the battery ground? The stands look super big. I didnt think you could use that kind of wire. That looks like the wire that goes into the breaker panels of a house.
  19. I didnt know that. Thats pretty cool.
  20. I might get hammered for this Chop but, Ive heard some about using chicken wire or some sort of wire mesh to hold the polyfill in the place you want and still allow air to pass through. Please someone correct me if Im wrong because Ive heard this many times before, just never used it or recommended it till now.
  21. Actually you will still come up short with the ported enclosure. You are not accounting for port displacement either. That will take up quite a bit depending on how big the port is. So your new dimensions (2.204) minus the DD (.24) is 1.964cuft. Then subtract the PD. You can use another of the same amp to power them independently but you never mentioned if they are dual 1 or 2. If they are dual 2 then you can wire them to 1ohm each and use one amp each. If they are dual 1, you can wire both together for a 1ohm load but you can only use one amp. Which do you have?
  22. I have one and I like it a lot. How do they compare to other 15s? Well they are the same size. What 15s are you talking about? Compare how?
  23. First post and you already have something good to say.
  24. If you came here, why dont you give the SSA store a look? You can find a lot of companies in the manufacturers section also that have great subs and amps. Give the mainstream a break for a while. I was kind of looking at going steg amps they seem pretty nice but havent seen them used very much. Never heard of them before but they boast a .25 and .50ohm specs for their master stroke amps. Sounds tough.
