  1. well it seems that the old 2 slugs don't fit what i need them to do. it does seem like comps. are based on music. so i would need either a 3 slug or new 1 slug daily. unless some one shows me an advantage to the 3 slug i will be getting the new 1 slug. this isn't for my daily use so i don't care what they sound like . and thanks all for your help i was looking at a 2 slug and it would have been a wast of time it seems. You say comps are based on music so you need it to be daily. Then you say its not for daily use and you dont care what it sounds like which sounds just like the SPL version. Which one is it?
  2. WTF? Ohh...sense. That was throwing me off.

Wait, they sold you an MX knowing they are no longer in production? X2. You got to order something only to find out when you go to pick up the item, it is discontinued? Shop owner sounds pretty lame.
  4. She kinda looks like Alyssa Milano. Very cool though.
  5. I dont think I would put any money down on those. They are both remanus and the companies dont look too reputable. Id just save it for a better quality one.
  6. Please dont post, just to post.
  7. I dont see the links anywhere for the ones you are currently looking at. Ive heard of the other two you just mentioned. Seen a lot of excessive amperage in the sigs or talked about but no so much from highoutputalternator.com though. Definately keep calling mechman till you get ahold of him.
  8. If you want it so bad then go back to the shop and ask them where they got it. And what do you plan on using this for?
  9. ok my amplifier has no internal fusing and is around 2000 watts (i dont know how accurate hifonics amp ratings are) so do i need an 2nd fuse near the amp?? I see in your sig that you only have one amp. If that is true you'll will only need 1 fuse and that would be placed near the battery. Now the fuse you put in the holder would be rated for what the amp needs to be protected, and not the wire. But if you have two amps this is a different story. Wrong. The fuse right next to the battery protects the wire, not the amp. Thats why it is right after the battery and not right before the amp. The fuse before the amp, protects the amp. KU40 just explained this.
  10. Well I want something i can use as a daily driver and something that will hit a little loader than the 10w6v2 i have right now. I listen to all kinds of music and they need to be 10s or maybe 12s because there going under the back seat of my truck. I didn't want to mixed the amps either but i can always find another one the same if i go that way It sounds like you have a quality front stage so I would recommend two 10 Q's, in a .8 ft3 each ported enclosure, tuned between 28 and 33hz. More towards 1.2 ft3 if possible. Or you can also do two 12 Q's in a .8 ft3 each sealed enclosure. More towards 1.5 ft3 if possible. It depends on what sound you like more. The smaller the box, the tighter the bass response. The larger the box, the boomier the bass will sound.
  11. You should take this to the enclosure design area of the forum. Maybe send a pm or an email to poundthatsound or audibel and fisher customs about your design ideas. Btw...welcome dude.
  12. I dont think shape matters all too much for the midbass but a round enclosure would probably look better. The type of enclosure that would get you the best response for 40-100hz on your subwoofer is called PORTED. I would not make a box for the tweets. Use what they gave you or be a little creative. A box just sounds ugly.
  13. Id let that amp go. Its ebay crap and its not worth it.
  14. Well all I really need to buy are the subs and have the enclosure built. I would like to try some of the SSA subs. Like I said I have no interest in competing just want it to sound good. I can do all the labor as far as cutting the cab and the bed. Of the three SSA subs which would be the best one to go with in my situation? Im planning on basically cutting the cab/bed putting the boot in place and mounting the box in the hole. Pretty simple just making an SUV out of a truck essentially. I figure a ported box with 2 12's and the amp I already have which is a MTX 1200D would be enough for me. Just not sure on the box size or which series of SSA subs would be best. I dont think its that simple though. Most blow-thru enclosures are not actually mounted in the hole but rather in the bed. You didnt give a budget for the subs so I will assume there isnt one. Go with the Xcon. It is the top of the line driver for SSA. They will all sound great in the proper enclosure though. I tried to look up the specs on your amp but Im unable to find any info on it. Are you sure of what brand and model it is?
  15. Ive never been able to upload pics for the gallery. I can only upload one pic for my avatar and thats it. I always have to use photobucket.
  16. You're teaming up with SSA and Ford for the remake of the Taurus at the Detroit Auto Show?!
  17. If you dont know what you are doing or arent confident of your skills to remove the dash...dont. Have it professionally installed. Get the aftermarket piece and be done with it. If you ever plan on having a nice setup for the long run in that vehicle, then do it.
  18. Not every box will be the same so neither will the results. The smaller the box, the tighter the bass response. The larger the box, the boomier the bass will sound. I think polyfill is intended for smaller enclosures but Ive never used it personally. It makes it seem as if the enclosure were larger than it really is.
  19. I thought he had a reason for taking those sleeves off! Watch where you point those things man.
  20. PM is disabled. You have to email. Its already a good deal. These 8 are cheaper than dbr and arent any different.
  21. You are going to be very limited on the floor under the back seat. I dont think you could do much more than the 4 8's you already have. You can go bigger and try 10's but I dont think you will get away with the height. What kind of bass are you looking for? You will probably have to sacrifice more space in order to get what you want.
  22. You might be able to find someone to do that for free! Im sure there is somebody on this forum sitting at home, without a job, bored as hell!
  23. I looked online and didnt find anything but call 1.888.MECHMAN and he might have some good prices for you. Whoever you order it from, I dont think it will get here by this weekend on ground shipping though.
  24. Welcome dude.
