so like the hc16v? Are you running a 16 volt system with that battery? Kinetiks are great but what is your budget for another battery? Deka 9A31 is a great batt at a good price. I think the batt would be ok next to the box. Its not the box vibrating anyway. The driver makes everything else around the box vibrate.

  6. Cant speak for DC power, but have heard great things. Mechman, on the other hand, I can speak for and say it is very reliable and provides mucho power. A little too much for me lately!

i see nothing wrong with steve. i dont see why people hate him so much. but then i also dont see why people are on his nuts all the time. Hes the reason why I got back into car audio again. I seen his you tube videos and it got me itchin to bump. Now I dont want 8 18's and 30,000 watts, but it is impressive to look at. Especially when its done right. Ive even thought about looking him up to get a demo because I know hes around my area somewhere.
  8. If you dont know everything then why are you arguing about how we dont get it? You came here looking for info and we dont understand what you want. Rriiigggghhht. Listen to the advice given and stop chocking that 15. Get a 12 in a new box and let it be that. Fi will outperform probably all the speakers at your school anyway. Dont worry about the size and what everybody else has. BTW...do you think these other kids are getting tips from people that know their shit about car audio, like you do here?

Are you serious? Cause you sound rediculous.
  10. Budget is going to be a determining factor here to get a little further on what you might want. When you decide what budget you have...then you can pick a sub and figure what size the enclosure will be...then you can work the dimensions for the cutout...then order the correct size boot... Id like to see this one though as I wanted to do the same thing but in an ext cab 91. Went the easy route instead. Make sure you get pics of this build!

You can just as easily use one of those amps per sub. It would still give it plenty of power. Its going to be a lot easier and safer to wire that way as well.
  12. Guess and check can be a real pain in the ass, but that is usually what it takes. Ive used that calc to build both of my current boxes and they sound great so I hope its not that.
  13. Eff'em We don't need dramatic accuracy I get fluke products whenever I want .... FOR FREE You might be able to find one off ebay for a decent price. Check it out. Well if you feel like making yourself some money...pick up one of those Fluke 337 models...and sell it to me! I did check ebay and they were still pretty pricey.
  14. Got an idea Jacob...email sent.
  15. I like this one too but this is the max price I will go. Im not even sure if this one has the max and min memory feature. I kind of liked that. http://cgi.ebay.com/Fieldpiece-SC46-Clamp-On-Meter_W0QQitemZ360199044468QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item53dd893d74
  16. Try calling this guy. His prices are very good. Ive seen a few people run these with good things to say, including me. http://www.mechman.com/
  17. Paypal to [email protected] Put SAE1200D Preorder in the subject line. I believe its $280 now.
  18. $200 is not enough for a proper sub setup. Save more money. Do you care about quality or just putting something in right now?
  19. Im looking for a clamp style meter and ebay looks like the cheapest route. Im looking at a couple and would like some opinions on which would work best. Im looking for a true rms digital clamp meter. Immediately I plan on using it on my stereo's, mainly for AC voltage and current, but later for home repair with DC voltage and current. Its not a temporary buy as I want this to last awhile. I was also looking for the one that Jacob used in his testing but couldnt find it. He even posted a link where to buy the exact one. Of course Id like a fluke or a fieldpiece but they are too expensive and Im recently unemployed. Heres the ones im looking at now. The one thats catching my eye is the Mastech. What do you guys think? http://cgi.ebay.com/New-MS2108-6600-TRUE-RMS-AC-DC-CURRENT-Clamp-Meter-CATI_W0QQitemZ290347890566QQcmdZViewItemQQptZBI_Electrical_Equipment_Tools?hash=item439a153786 http://cgi.ebay.com/True-RMS-AC-DC-Clamp-Ammeter-Amp-Meter-Capacitor-Tester_W0QQitemZ370156729969QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item562f0f7671 http://cgi.ebay.com/Mastech-Auto-Range-True-RMS-Clamp-on-Meter-Multimeter_W0QQitemZ200400293509QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2ea8c9ce85 http://cgi.ebay.com/True-RMS-AC-DC-Clamp-Ammeter-DMM-Capacitor-Tester-HVAC_W0QQitemZ390110572116QQcategoryZ50961QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D10%26ps%3D63
  20. Here are a few that are reputable. There is a lot more but just a few off the top of my head. http://www.dcpowerinc.com/ http://mechman.com/ http://www.ohiogen.com/ http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Iraggi-Alternator-and-Electronics__W0QQ_armrsZ1QQ_fsubZ0QQ_pgnZ6QQ_sasiZ1QQ_scZ1QQ_sopZ3
