Well this morning I bought the 250 amp rhino series w/ the accidental coverage. Everything is starting to come together and I can't wait to install the new system...in a couple months.

Funny but yes Im using solder. The wire wont get hot enough to melt the solder. Sorry wasn't tryin to be a douche. You just never know these days. lol. But ya try a torch like others have said. That should definitely do it. ya i know u were just askin cause u never know what people might do. It did give me a laugh though. So I guess I'll try my torch and use some of these techniques u guys talked about. Thanks for the replies fellas and I'll let u know how it goes.

I thought about that but i didnt want the jacket on the wire to melt. I figured it would be the only way to do it but I wanted to see if someone had another way of doing it. Maybe Im just being too careful and a bit scurred of ruining my chit. Does everybody use a torch?

Sorry but I didnt see this before I posted. I was in too much of a hurry to get my 2 cents in. lol. The only prob i have with what you wrote is that bud has far more cancer causing agents than tobacco. R u sure about that because Ive been into weed and its politics longer than most here have been into car audio. There is NOT one single case that says weed causes cancer. None. And to the other guy who said that feds trumps state...true. But how come the feds havent come knockin at my door when every year my crop is in the same place. Even the local police like to stop by and see how the yearly crop is doing cause they havent ever seen shit like that before. And even the pot shops that litter my state r still going strong and paying federal taxes! I guess my state will lead the race to victory.lol. And dont forget its the people who make change happen. Its the govt who enables it. Sorry for my rants but Im passionate about more things then car audio.

So Ive bought and returned every solder gun in home depot and none of them work for what Im doing. I want to solder the ring terminals to my 0/1 wire but the guns dont heat it up enough. Where do i get a decent solder gun for doing 0/1 wire and how many watts should it be? The highest I found at home depot was 75. Two weekends in a row now its starting to get frickin annoying. Any ideas?

Holy crap this is my kinda thread! I'mma start by saying that Im a cali medical patient and I would love this to happen. I believe now more than ever that it can. Just the taxation alone would provide so much economic relief its a joke! Take away thousands of horrible pills that waste your liver and give these people suffering from pain and illness something all NATURAL! And yes smoke in any form isnt good for your lungs but who said u have to smoke it? There are edibles, tinctures, oils, and whatever else the clever mind can come up with. Me on the other hand...love to puff. And if this will hurry up and happen (we wish), I dont have to spend so much time guarding my crop from unscroupulous scumbags who would like to rip it off during the night. One more note on my rant... Do you know why mary jane is illegal in the first place? Well when prohibition ended during the depression (which wasnt a timely coincidence) all of the appointed task force agents for alcohol didnt have a job anymore. Well tomorrow is the last day of the July sale for Mechman and I think Im going with the 250 amp rhino series for $299. I should probably go bigger but love the price on the rhino. I'll have to call Matt during my work hours tomorrow as he is on the east coast and I dont get off work till late here in cali. Im pretty set on the rhino but looking for advice on what u guys might do. Anybody have any input?

Just ordered my sax100.4 and the sax50.4 last night. Man Im so glad I found this site!!! Sweet deals and even better products. Cant wait for them to come in even though I havent got the mids or highs to hook up to em.! lol.

I am planning on 1 under the hood and 2-3 in the back. All batts will be Powermaster D3100's. I also just got a quote from rob @ dc power for an AD-300SP which is 300 amps (150 idle) for 550 including the harness. I heard dc power is very reputable and reliable too. I just dont want to buy another down the road cause the mechman 200 or 250 isnt enough.

I upgraded from a crunch 1800.4 to a sundown SAX-125.2 on my 6x9's and it was a world of difference. The SQ was amazing. Blew the crunch right out the wata!

Ok so I have saved my jack and Im ready to buy an alt but wondering which one. I will be buying from mechman and want to know what u guys think. My system will include the SAZ-4500d, SAX-100.4, and maybe the SAX-50.4. Matt has a 200 amp (125 idle) alt BNIB by powermaster for 225 plus ship or a 250 amp rhino series (150 idle) BNIB for 299. I cant remember if the ship is included or not but the latter is part of his July sale. My budget tells me to get the 200 but I know I SHOULD get the 250 rhino. I need to buy this by the end of this week because I wont likely find these prices anytime soon anywhere else. Whatcha think fellas?

I have bought from sonicelectronixs.com and onlinecarstereo.com many times before. They are both great (usually only 2-3 days here in CA) on ship time and ocs will give free ship over $99. Just make sure to get your subs and amps here on ssa.

It is still well under warr but Im wondering if they will deny the warr claim though. I will tell them what they want to hear but worried that when they open it...sorry kid, not covered. I had a prob with a remote wire a long time ago as well. Turned out my remote wire from the deck was no bueno. Make sure its good.

Ok so one vc reads 3.7 ohms and the other reads .5 ohms. What kind of crazy #s were u refering to? So I probably burnt one of the vc's?
