  1. funny how cocky you are 'knowing i was about to make his face meet concrete' people like that are just as dumb as the person smoking. here in WA it's illegal to smoke indoors anywhere excpet your own house/car & a rule where you must be 20 or so feet away from any window/doorway if your smoking around buildings. I smoke, but wouldn't put people in the position where they have to complain about my smoking habit.
  2. type-x is an sq subwoofer period. and if i'm not mistaken it can handle more wattage than the ssd. noone's knockin' fi, but for an sq setup the type-x takes the cake vs an ssd.
  3. i've heard about battery isolaters.. what's the pros/cons of isolaters?
  4. i actually have that, but was under the impression it's the 2002 specs, are they the same? either way thanks for helping
  5. so you want an SQ setup... and your choices are retail SSD or $200 Type-X why the hell wouldn't you go with the type-x and make a sealed box for it.. or port it really low since your looking for SQ.
  6. pretty amp for sure, anywho just saw this guy on a private auction site for under $50 tested working, cosmetically it's almost 100%. I wouldn't use this amp myself, but would It be worth to resell and make a quick buck? only results I really saw for this amp for sale privately was a post on diy selling it for roughly $300, and everyone said post it on european ebay and you could get way more for it... is this amp really that damn nice? i know older diamond audio is nice, but over $300 for a used 4 channel 400watt amp?
  7. 03 XXX 12 D2 Recone Kit Arrived Tuesday! It was in a box smaller then the diamater of the recone kit, so the surround was all mashed up and slanted, most of it formed back to it's orignal shaping before it was glued down, but one small part is still lop sided which kinda sucks... also there is about a 2 1/2 - 3 inch long scratch on the surround on the inner part that i noticed right out of the box. the recone kit works 100%, no complaints mechanically! great job, but I expected a 'new' cosmetically and mechanically sound kit. the scratch does bug me, it is pretty long, looks like someone had long finger nails and just pushed in a bit and ran it around the inner of the surround. anyways, im pleased with how it performs, but unpleased with cosmetic issues. I would not hesitate to do business with Fi again! I'm sure the big ass scratch was overlooked... i doubt you guys would send out product looking like this :[ I will post pics as soon as i have access to a card reader. thank you Scott / Nick for answering questions.
  8. non biased here, mind you i haven't heard anything from ssa's lineup but i can gurantee you you will NOT be disappointed with the w7, and even if it'll run @ 1.5ohms you'll still be getting plenty of power for that thing to get loud and very clean sounding.
  9. .. you have no idea what your talking about. w7 is all about sq. lmao.
  10. w7 is in a class of it's own, i hate the price but if you can afford jl gear, or find a deal on some, grab it! w7 is an insane sq subwoofer.
  11. i know fi doesn't make the xxx, but the model i have was designed by scott so I'm assuming this is the appropiate place. i searched archive.org -> reaudio.com and came up with no results for the 03 model. anyone still have the 03 xxx 12 t/s sheet by chance?
  12. meade's civic had 2 18's walled didn't it?
  13. at the time it was somewhat scary, making the call to the g/f, uhmm.. baby... your trunks broke... lol i look back and laugh though, i still have the busted latch sittin in my toolchest @ the house
  14. someone on ca.com suggested something like a popsicle stick, with doublesided tape on it, basically anything you can slide down where the vc rests, and then blow it out while running the sticky stick around to pickup any things that flys around in there
  15. old pic i ran across. thought i'd share, i was amazed standing outside the car at the park, just beatin playin around, then the trunk flew open and wouldn't shut, to my surprise this was why ;d was a simple single 15 type-r setup with an alpine mrd-605 pushin it. setup: 2002 Kia Rio sub+port firing upwards in the trunk (gee, wonder why it broke )
  16. i went ahead and picked up 1oz bottle of IC-2000 "The NEW IC-2000 is a rubber-toughened cyanoacrylate that forms superior shock resistant bonds on non-porous surfaces. The black colored CA has added flexibility for the bonding of metals, fiberglass, rubber, carbon-fiber and other advanced materials" http://www.nesail.com/detail.php?productID=1009
  17. went to local hobby shop and checked out their glue, is it the 'rubber toughened' ca glue used to recones ?
  18. the only thing that can kill chuck norris is a funky pup
  19. no shit? i've never had any problems running kicker amps @ 1ohm, never had a customer return, blown amp, nothing. then again these were all zx1000.1's and below installs. *shrugs*
  20. honestly you should just put wtf you want in there and not ask others what they would want... if you like sony go ps, if you like m$ go xbox.
  21. ... since when are kicker amps not rated @ 1ohm?
  22. sony > microsoft = end of story. besides that, just slap a psp or nintendo ds in their and call it good
