  1. Also just though of some more ideas -- I want it to hit hard, be in a ported box (prefer that sound over a sealed), good excursion for SPL...ill keep on posting the more ideas I get.
  2. Alright seeing as I haven't been very clear I guess here are my goals: To get a woofer that sounds good. To be able to hit the lows at high volume without distortion (i know it will happen eventually with every sub). To be able to upgrade later (ie amp if I under power or if they will accept more power). To be able to compete and put up good numbers for the woofers I will have. This is playing music, not one tone. To be able to play most kinds of music well. To get the max potential out of the woofer. Ive heard some systems where all you could listen to on it was rap, I do not want one of those (it may just be the car as well or the build). To fit the woofer(s) in the trunk and still have room to spare. Nothing too expensive (over my 3500$ budget that is). Have a woofer that can pretty much do what others cant in volume, bass and spl (and quality). There were people saying to me I cannot build a good system on my budget, I want to prove them wrong and destroy their stupid little JL's pushing 1k watts (a guy that owns a company here was saying that there's no way these speakers can do what they show on youtube for example. That its fake and people just re coned them with a 1000$+ driver) And pretty much to get the best bang for my buck. Oh and I don't want to be disappointed. I don't know what else I may be looking for. I hope that's good enough for you guys to help me narrow down my choices. If not, ask me questions cause right now I am a little on the sick side and my mind isn't working very well...
  3. PM Shizzz. He will help you out but super busy at the moment. I am still in line for being helped through him.
  4. lol you guys are...well this will way enough Anyway. Still trying to figure out either a BTL or BL. BL can handle a lot but BTL may be over the top in loudness compared to the BL...
  5. NIB? I think I am pretty sure I am going with either the BL or BTL at this point. Excellent reviews, great power handling and within my budget.
  6. From what I have seen about these subs, I think I will pass on buying one from a very iffy company...
  7. ant isn't there a reason why you see most people frying their funky pup woofers(setting them on fire)? i think there's better out there for the power you push (that just my thoughts nothing to back it up though)
  8. You said I cant do that and have the car look stock....
  9. Oh you mean the option with the sub. I thought you meant the bp was with the amp =P. Thanks Old Skool and jay. LEts see what Shizz things about this idea now.
  10. Ok for a 2 12" design what would be best for building the box? I was thinking of firing them up and forwards towards the driver at a 45 degree angle about. With a square port directly between and behing the two subs... But I heard that if the subs fire directly up towards the top of the trunk with a port on the bottom towards the back of the box is the best...
  11. what do you mean by "bp power"? And tossing 1750 at each is...pushing it as they are only rated for 1k. But I wouldn't mind doing it....
  12. Also, 1x SAX-1500D for 1x BL right?
  13. Alright that makes sense. I am going to wait though until I order anything sub wise to talk to Shizzz again. He is one busy guy and I have a feeling he will agree with you. Well, powermaster D3100 battery here I come!
  14. If I decide to push 2 12" BTL's, what do you guys recommend amp wise? (I am going to most likely get them). How about BL's if I try to save some money?
  15. I feel a little out of place posting here but with Brooklyny's post I don't feel so far off topic anymore. I just received my amp and realized that holey hell there are a lot of nobs on it. I don't know what most of them do. But going through my booklet (made great bathroom reading material ) I notided I had a LOT of questions, not only "what does this nob do" but "why would I need this"? Anyway some of my questions are: What is the Variable High and Low pass filters and how should I set them? (If I remember correctly the low is the lower frequency's and the high are the higher ones. So I would want to cut out anything that I want my sub to play?) Should I leave the bass boost off? (I am pretty sure I read that they should never be set on the amp or the deck). I assume the knob is for this. Theres a 12dB Octave Electronic Crossover Slope....huh? Theres also a 12dB Octave Variable Subsonic Crossover Slope...I say again, huh? With al lthe fun looking, I want to play with, knobs. Are they set to anything before shipped?
  16. SAX-50.4 RECEIVE!!!
  17. My budget is about 3500$, cheaper the better though. I have already ordered my front end speakers, my front end amp and wiring for it. I think it was about 475 so far. I figured out with the 0 gauge wiring, 2x AQ2200Ds, 2 12 Fi BTLs, my head unit, the battery and the alternator come out to about 3300. I could save money though and go to the BL's but then I don't have head room for a bigger amp to power both of them. And I think its harder comp wise if you have 2 amps cause then you are in a harder category.
  18. Shizzz -- I am getting a new alt as well. Some guy on these forums is hooking me up with a 200 amper. Seeing as now I can handle more power, would you change your original idea of 4 10's or 2 12's?
  19. alright well... Lets do 2 12's then. How about BTL's like my first 12's choice and get them powered up. For the first few months I will have them underpowered but towards the end of the year I will be able to strap another amp on there. Oh and by the way, I am getting a 200 amp alt sometime soon. Im thinknig of ordering a 2200D because a 12 BTL should be able to hold 2.2kw a peice. I think if I went for a SAZ-3500 I would a)out to my alt by the time I strap in a second one and b) go a little over my budget. But I guess with a battery bank I may be able to strap two 3500's but thats down the road... Or maybe even sell the 3500 and get a 4500.... But I am getting ahead of myself here. The BTL requires more power at the start but can handle more power than the BL overall (I think at least). If I am trying to get the best I can (and I am) and want to upgrade more later (I do), wouldnt the 12" BTL be my best bet? NOTE: I am only talking about the BL and BTL because I have read a LOT on them and dont know much about the other options outside of Fi.
  20. Well I don't know whats possible on my budget for...like the 129.9 division? 119.9 division? 139.9? I know thumper hit like 152. something with 2 10's (I think) but he was throwing MASSIVE amounts of power at them. I am pretty sure I will stick with 12's at this point to maximize the trunk space / cone area. Now its to what subs are the best choice. I know competitions around here thrive in the summer time so I have a while to pick what I want. Maybe the BTL or BL is the best option. Buy two now, under power them a little for just listening pleasure now. Also with that money saved on not getting another amp, upgrade the alt. Then when my money and the end of winter swings around strap another amp in there and ka bam comp system....
  21. Alright so I need more power...
