Fi BTL 18"
overall what would hit harder? i know its not really a fair question but 1 15 or 2 12? I do know the 12's have more cone area and will move more air and take the same power...

Also I wanna hear it bangin to and hell, i want to hear it at the beginning, 0:33, 1:15, 2:29, 3:14, 3:45, 4:12, 4:33, the bass drop at 5:05 and 5:27, the drop at 6:10 is going to rattle the doors off, 6:35...screw it I want to hear the entire song....

Just ran into a box problem...
Well I sat down tonight thinking I have most things ordered, I may want to double check my trunk space. I re measured and I was off a few inches on the height. My trunk space is 40W by 42depth by 18 high. This will give me about 14.07 cubic feet of total area. Now if I were to build a box and have it exactly 6 cubic feet with an external port to save room this would leave me with 8 cubic feet remaining. I have a feeling I may not have enough air flow to keep a 18 BTL in the trunk ($^%@). I do (i think) have enough room to store one but I would be starving it for air. I measured one of the seats and its about 2.5 feet by about 4 feet in height. I could lower the back to allow it more airflow, but I would eventually need the room to help move drunk asses (but not all the time). What would you guys recommend? I am having a hard time figuring out if I turned an 18" sideways (45 degrees) if I would have the room to clear it and have enough room for excursion... I dug up my camera and ofund out its dead (crap). Pictures will be posted tomorrow or late this morning and ill edit them to show depth and length. Also the back five or six inches of the trunk space is flaired a little bit. It goes out about 6 inches more than the rest (on each side) and are about 8 inches long (again, on each side). I could go to a single 15" and I know I would have more than enough room for one of those. I am all for the one woofer style, just to me looks nicer... And plus if I could manage a 18" back there it would look way cooler than a 15".

Fi BTL 18"
Alright that makes me feel a little better that you guys are recommending the BTL. And yeah I do have the electrical to go with the BTL. But it looks like after talking to a friend that I may not have the space for it. My entire trunk measured out comes to around 16.3 cubic feet. I know I have enough for the box (and probably two 18s" if we just go with that) but not enough for it to breathe....

Fi BTL 18"
My goals are to be loud but sound good. To be able to listen to most kinds of music without having to change (much) and to be able to do competitions without getting my ass handed to me. Also I would really like the "holey cow" factor whenever somebody sits in the passenger seat and wants to bail out...

Fi BTL 18"
I pretty much have all of this setup to be ordered then I started really thinking about things last night. I started thinking if I really wanted to go for a big boom or have somewhat sq within it. Then I was looking around at Q's and thought about nuking the BTL and going to a Q. Well here are my overall goals, I would like to be able to listen to more than just rap / bass cds and that's all I have heard people playing the BTL's on. I do listen to some rap but I like other music as well. Some examples would be stuff like this: , example 2, , . And among all other things just general metal and rock and country. I would also like to be able to go to some competitions and put up some numbers eventually. Now I am told the BTL can be used for SQ if the install, box and dampening are done correctly. Can the BTL can do all of this? Or am I not going to be able to listen to anything (ie examples) except rap if I got the BTL (check out my front ends in my signature as well). My second concern was if my front end speakers will be able to keep up with the BTL. I dont want to have to turn the gain down on the sub to listen to most music. I understand for some you may have to but most of the songs I wouldn't want to. I do like my songs a little bass heavy though.Maybe a 18" Q will do what I am looking for?

Ah. Well when I buy one of these from you (I plan on it! so dont give them all out, should go great with my 18" BTL) what kind of kit should I get to wire it? I was looking at one of the knukonceptz Kolossus Flex 0 Gauge Power Kit. Will that be all that I need to hook this thing up to my BTL and my battery?

SAX-50.4 and Z15 Close-Out Sales
I was looking at maybe adding a little bit more power than what this amp has to offer. Curious on two things here - Is there still a close-out sale going on for these? and whats the step up (maybe two) from this amp?

Soundstream RF-60C Reference 6.5" Component Car Audio Speakers
Alright well I am starting off ordering my head unit, speakers, battery, big 3 wiring, my volt meter and frontend amp here sometime next week. I have been digging around websites and manuals for the past month (at least) looking for howto wire all of this stuff. I have also been looknig for what additional componants I may need to get all this rolling and installed. The only problem is is I am not sure about any of this. The only diagrams I have been able to find out is where I can run wire and howto take off the door panels and the dash to run wire behind it. I know I am going to want to wire my battery right off the bat because I do not want to have to tear my car apart twice. So I am asking, no I am begging, for some help here. Anybody know anything about wiring a head unit / frontend amp / battery / speakers all together? I have a general idea but thats it at this point... Also is there any "starter" kits I shuold buy to patch together the parts I may miss? Like 0 gauge terminals, fuses, additional ground / power wiring? Any suggestions / diagrams would be greatly appreciated!

Soundstream RF-60C Reference 6.5" Component Car Audio Speakers
My main concern is if you even have the room in the trunk to fit an 18" subwoofer without choking the sub in too small of a box. My trunk is 40l x 39w x 20h... that would put out about a 15 cubic foot box if i were to fill it before displacement... the BTL needs 5-10. So I am trying to build a box that has around 6 cubic feet after displacement of everything (bracing, wood, woofer). I am also doing an external port to help with making it a little smaller box.
