BTL or level 5?
Well after a lot of talking with Shizzz and screwing up not being able to fix the box in the trunk (and realizing I cant fit the box and the amp and the batts back there) I am thinking I am best to go to a single woofer. Now I was reading around and it looks like a single Fi BTL 15" can be used in a 3 cuft box. I am going to be throwing a SAX-3500D at a woofer by the way so I will be over-powering almost (I think) any woofer out there. But after talking to Shizzz some more he says that he recommends the level 5 12 at a minimal 2.5cuft box. I can do that seeing as the original box was about 5.5-6 cu ft. But wondering what would be best on the smaller box size -- either a BTL or a level 5(or another subwoofer). I am almost complete on receiving everything and would like to get this ordered in the morning (the most important part...hah). After I design some boxes and look around at some 15's and see if I can reduce the box size a lot I will see what I can do with you guys recommendations. As of right now I don't know what the single level 5 15" woofer requires for minimal space. I believe Shizzz told me 4 cuft but not sure. I was told by a few people (not sure if its the bad advice thing like ///M5 says) but the more power a sub has the smaller box is needed. Is this true? And I have been reading on the level 5 woofers and everybody says its mainly a spl not a "music" playing sub. I don't think this is true but I could be wrong. My main concern going with a btl (12 or 15) and a level 5 (12 or 15) is that i am throwing almost 75% more power at it than what its recommended for. I also know DC subs are nothing to joke around with either. So your guys .02 cents is well welcome here. just found this for specifications, that will help a lot. Im thinkin I am going to stick with DC unless someboy has a good reason to go to something else. This says they can peak 20k , daaaamn

Just got battery...Dynasty Bat
Thats actually a good idea and i will do that when i ship you the replacement so this doesnt happen again I have shipped out quite a few of these already and this was the first to get damaged I cant really say if the packing was sufficient on this one though because my brother packed it and he may have made a mistake although he has watched and helped me pack several of the others and none of those were damaged They must have dropped it pretty hard for it to do that much damage anyway I will have you another one out shortly and sorry man........UPS SUX lol Thanks man. I know we talked on the phone before, good response, ++

you could use some sort of wooden board that's bigger than the terminal (terminal is shaped as an L. The bottom part of the L s attached to the battery itself) to help spread out the impact if it does get dropped like it did. But the wrapping was not sufficient by any means.

IM NOT SAYING its the sellers fault. IM NOT telling you who the seller is unless they dont take a reasonable approach to this.

Well I just got my battery from somebody on here that was selling them and I have to say I am pretty sure its no longer usable. The terminals are pushed in a good two inches and the plastic housing around them is pretty badly cracked. I can see the stuff inside of it as well. I got it from a guy on here. Ill email excessive amperage though and see if they can fax / email / mail me something on it. The big battery for the trunk I was looking at is pretty screwed up (so I have more time now before I install stuff). But I want to talk to who I got it from first.

No idea lol... I know the ribbed tube thing that goes around some wires (two I think) goes to the screw / bolt.

Alright, you asked so you shall receive...Beefed up alt, TWO prong, not three (my mistake): Alt wiring inside car (Couldn't get block shot, too far away) and sorry for it being blurry but you can see the two wires connecting to the prong, the other one is connecting to the bolt: Back of beefed up alt (you can see prong and bolt): Now the alt inside of the car, you can see why I cant get a good shot of the wiring. But I should be able to take off the fan and have enough room once that's removed and the top hose is removed.

Hell-Razor's Build Log
Just about ready to get everything setup here with building the box. But, where should I run the wires? Should I do it through the port or cut a little hole between the two subs at the bottom? Also, should I mount the amps behind where the subs are firing? I wont want to rattle them to death. (my subs will fire forward). There is nothign really stable though to mount them to when it comes to elsewhere in the trunk

Well I have most things at my place ready to be hooked up sometime soon. But theres one problem, thats with donig the big three with my alt. There is a plug on the back of it that plugs into the block, its a three prong plug and those seem to be 8 gauge wire. There are three wires goign to the block then two to the battery. I do not see a ground at all. Now I have no bloody idea how I would re wire all of that. I would need a new three prong plug able to support 0 gauge wire (I would think). Ill post pictures tomorrow of it but I am very confused. If anybody has ane experience with a 02-03 passat (same engines) PLEASE let me know! As of right now I am thinking I may be out of luck with any re wiring with the engine. NOTE: I have tried to take pictures in the past but its very hard to get a clear shot. The light makes it hard to see. Maybe if I just post the new alt "three prong plug" you guys will understand.

Alright, I have been looking and looking for these but I cannot find (on DC's website) where to order them. I find the specs and everything but no "order now". I have no idea how much they cost either... Any "hey dumbass, go here" posts would be good =) Thanks in advanced.
