  1. I bet that shop did not even order the stuff yet. When they order it comes in the next day or a couple days. I used to work in a shop and the manager wouldn't order for a couple weeks. He would say it was out of stock lol.
  2. I have not put to much though into this but I was just wondering if this would be a great charging system for car audio. The way a hybrid vehicle works is it runs off battery power at low speeds and at idle. The only way gas is used is when the voltage drops past a certain level to charge the batteries. This would be ideal for competition use as the charging system is geared toward the idle to low rpm range. There are multiple batteries in a hybrid setup and I am sure that the charging system would have to be pretty beefed up to charge a hybrid vehicle. A regulator could be used to change the voltage at which the charging system kicks in. If you were to have a high powered setup for competition use, would a hybrid vehicle be a good choice or only to a certain extent?
  3. Triple baffle. The third will counter sink the subs so they are mounted flush with the front baffle. And I am loving the counting game as well. I am thinking about editing a video of them flashing back and forth to the beat of Benny Benassi - Satisfaction. I also have the subs doing the same thing but coming forward.
  4. That reminds me I need to post that bitch on the for sale section lol.
  5. That memphis driver is a great piece. I had one in my old setup and it truly does help.
  6. That should work. If you need to know any more information you should make a new topic because you are kinda threadjacking kent.
  7. Home depot sells it. Not real thick I dont think though. I bought 1/4" from my local home depot. Just be careful because most of the pieces are scratched. If you wanted to use it for an amp rack you might want to stiffen it up by putting a thin metal bracing along the bottom.
  8. How did you cut the plexi?
  9. I am hoping you are talking about the entire box in general costed that much lol.
  10. They were waiting for me at the front door My dad yelled at me because I though I got a hard on from these subs Looking incredible Yes I am short but those boxes were stacked pretty high. Stacking subs is to me as atlas stones are to world's strongest men This is a first .... My subs are bigga than yo rims! Xcon Icon Xmax Count with me! 1 2 3 4 Classic
  11. Was the winner of the product not yet decided?
  12. O never mind then. That is what I have now and I do not want to do that route. Thanks!
  13. If you want the q to sound good. It is recommended on the fi website that it be tuned between 28 and 33 hertz. What a ported box does is it makes something similar to a peak in the frequency. So if you tuned a box to 33 hz (if the sub's response was completely flat) the peak would be at 33 hz and any frequency higher or lower is not as loud. Here is an example of a ported box tuned to 26.3 hz. If you look the biggest peak is at that frequency and then it dips. So if you tune the qs' box between the recommended guidelines (28-33 hz), your output will be more balanced through the frequency spectrum.
  14. That is the stuff I bought but want to get something different. Is that duraliner something I can apply myself? If not is it not the same thing as herculiner?
  15. Textured spray paint? It has a rubbery plastic look to it or does it just feel like it? I cannot really tell from the picture. To me the picture just looks like spray paint.
  16. I have been pondering on what to coat my wall with. I was originally going to go spray paint but motha f that. I want a plasticy rubberized coating on the box. My friend suggested herculiner. Have any of you had any experience using this stuff? Is there something better that I can use that will work good?
  17. I think I am going with the hurculiner. I will most likely go gray. We wont need more than a gallon because there is only like 1/4 of the baffle left after the holes and port were cutout.
  18. It might be because the wardens are like $850 bucks a pop lol.
  19. That stuff is looking nice but it is ideal for smaller applications. I would like a rubbery/plasticy look if possible. S.Meade's box has a rubbery look to it. I do not know what he uses though.
  20. What do you guys recommend I coat the outside of the box with? I have been debating this for a while. I was going to spray paint it but I have seen a couple of people use other things. What do you think?
  21. Nope. Not getting the oil change next week so we gotta wait another week lmfao. All the pieces should get sanded down nicely, the pieces will be ready to be put together, the baffles will be completed, and then the week after it should get installed
  22. Those subs are recommended to be ported. The problem is your enclosure. You might have leakage as well as a bracing problem. Do those first. It will save you the hassle of building a new box not to mention it would be cheaper. Those subs should be pounding hard and sounding good while doing it. Perhaps it is that you have them tuned so high? Try fixing these things. Also rattles are fixed with sound deadening =)
  23. For some reason some of the pics did not get uploaded onto my computer so I will upload those tonight if I have time .... Xcon next to a cup Xcon next to a can "Now that's an ass" - Duran 6.5 comparison My new component set Magnet doin some work Overly excited Ohhh shit Next to an old phoenix 10 SSA's next model I like my subs like mah women ... big and black Believe it or not some work was actually accomplished come 2 in the afternoon Tracing out the front baffle Josh dominating the router Josh was relieved to finish using the router Lookin nawyce Just had to put it partially together The garage was a complete mess when we finished And my macbook got shit on Just had to get a feel for what we were getting ourselves into...
