I think you might be right. That didnt do anything, still nasty pop. Its not little at all it makes the sub jump pretty good! Checked all the ground over so it seems like its somehting with the RCA's. Since the old HU was working fine and this one is doing this I assume it might be the RCS outputs on the HU.

Im about to ground my HU to the battery to completely eliminate the ground issue. It seems like a real hard ground loop.

Its not a new unit though which is why it seems odd. Its worked before. I unplugged the woofer and that didnt pop when i turned it on but all the inside speakers did. Re did the amps ground. I wonder if the HU is just shot?

A bad RCA lead. Everything is there like it should be I dont understand why this unit is doing it and the other didnt.

Shouldnt be I just swaped it out for my old unit, and everyhting was working fine 30 minutes ago. I fixed the ground and that didnt do it either

Just put my old Alpine 9831 back in, when i turn the ignition over I get the loudest pop ive ever heard, all door speakers and sub real loud. Im thinking its the ground on the HU but im not sure. The wireharness for this HU is kind of ghetto, I got it off of ebay and there was no remote wire, so im pulling of the switched wire. Heading out to ground it better, what do you guys think it could be? Ive had the HU hooked up in the car before but never with an amp. the internal amp on hte HU is blown FYI, not that it matters much.

Im kinda thinkin about the Memphis Mojo! Ive always wanted one and this a good excuse. But like I said I think ill watch the for sale section for a while, im really in no rush. A modded MTX 1501d wouldnt be bad either! First step will be getting the woofer, and getting the JBL fixed. Ill see what that can do to it for awhile! It killed the 15 HC

Im in no rush, I can just get the sub fixed for now. Ill have a fixed bp1200 soon enough to sell and I can just get somthing better. Im sure I can run across somehting used for a good price.

What do you mean by car off? Do you think a hifonics amp would be better? I just want something that puts out power, thats it, nothing special. It probably wont even be used daily. I have my Rl-p and kicker amp for that.

Has anyone had any experience with this amp? Im looking for loud and cheap. It says 1800@1 , dont know how accurate it is though. It will be put on an 18" HC once I get it reconed. My Goal is loud, not daily driver just one loud burp machine. Will this amp suffice or should I look into something along the Hifonics line? My Goal is 145 to start with.

Not as hard as you would think. Someone on sounddomain makes tons of them for 12's and sells them for 100 I think. He only makes one size though and if it works for the 12 you have then you could be good to go!
