  1. I already bought it...hopefully.
  2. I wish I could afford to have you build me a box. Your work is so amazing.
  3. Take a lot of pepto? I thought the same thing one time but found out that bismuth can turn your stool black as well. I'm sure you read that, though.
  4. Not the worst movie ever, but the first thing that popped into my head was "The Happening". Terrible idea, bad direction, terrible acting (especially Mark Wahlberg). I hated this movie. P.S. Inglourious Basterds was great. You guys are tripping.
  5. I asked this question on another forum but didn't get any answers so I thought I'd throw it out here. This is for the trunk of a 02 Bonneville. Sub back port back. Not looking for a box design, just some recommendations.
  6. Don't bother with the capacitor. It won't help voltage problems. If you're running 600-1000 watts you should try doing your big3 first and go from there.
  7. IIRC, my 12" SSD w/ copper coil option was around $220 or so shipped. That was about 9 or 10 months ago and it could be changing beings they are redesigning the SSD.
  8. From what I've been reading, caps can displace a large amount of power very quickly, but then they need to recharge. So, at that point they become another strain on your electrical system. So, if your electrical wasn't good enough to start with, it's going to be just as bad, if not worse with the cap straining it even more.
  9. I just got my 1/0 welding cable from welding supply (30 feet at ~1.80/ft). Seems flexible enough and thick enough for me (only running ~1500 watts). Gonna do big 3 (battery under rear seat) and the power and ground for my sae-1200d. I've only ever used 4 gauge scosche in the past.
  10. No, the prices don't include shipping. I think shipping was around $20 for my 12" SSD. You'll see the shipping price when get far enough in the checkout process.
  11. I didn't think the sae1200s were strappable.
  12. Hmm. I've never had a problem with UPS tracking. It's always worked great for me. USPS on the other hand...
  13. Just got mine yesterday (single 12, copper coil). Sounds pretty good so far. Can't wait to get my new amp (Sundown sae-1200d) and put it in a new box.
  14. You'll know. Check your tracking number every day. It'll change from 'billing info received' to something like "in transit" and it will have a new delivery date. Mine was right on the dot.
  15. Ground the RCA plugs with copper wire. Fixed mine. (band-aid fix)
  16. Just got my new sub in so I thought I'd snap a pic or two. ON the left, Fi SSD 12" copper coil On the right, Alpine Type S 12" (1242d, the old version, not the newer compact Type S) The Type S is a bit torn apart and the magnet cover is off, but you get the picture.
  17. You may have blown the pico fuse in the deck. I did it to my Pioneer a few weeks ago. Wrapped some copper wire around the RCA plugs to ground it and "fixed" it right up. More of a band-aid, but it works for me.
  18. Well I convinced the wife it was a good deal and bought one on ebay today. Outbid someone in the last 10 seconds and got it for less than $180 shipped. Not bad for an amp capable of 1200+ watts made by a respectable company. Thanks for blowing out your stock, Sundown.
  19. Well I'll have plenty of power. I think I'm going to get a Sundown SAE1200d to run the one 12, so power won't be a problem. But yeah I'll try both and go from there. Thanks.
  20. What are the specs on the box? I'll be getting my single 12" SSD delivered next week and am gathering ideas for a box to build for it. I'll be running it sealed at first but will most likely build a ported box and see which I prefer.

My guess would be that they get orders in and make them in the order that they come. But, when they have a sub come back for something that was their fault, it seems to me that they would fix it and get it out as soon as possible. I wouldn't say it's weird as much as it's just good business. BTW, I ordered my 12" SSD on a Monday night, got my order confirmation the next day, got a tracking number from UPS on Thursday (not actually shipped, just billing info. received) and the sub went out from them on Wednesday the next week. The website said 3-7 day build time, and it was 8 days, so just be patient. Did you get the tracking info from UPS yet? If you haven't, maybe the order didn't go through correctly, and you should contact them.
  22. Wow. Why ask for help, then? Why don't you go down to Best Buy and ask them what they have to offer you. You should get plenty of courteous help down there.
  23. Man I want to get one so bad but I just ordered a new sub and the wife's putting her foot down. I'm breaking her down though.
  24. On the Lincoln Mark VIII I used to have, which also had a 4.6 (DOHC, not sure if yours is similar), a lot of people had trouble with overheating. The culprit was usually air locked in the line somewhere. Are you sure you're "burping" the air out when you refill the coolant? I looked on the Lincoln forum I used to post on and this was a method someone had posted for burping the coolant on a 98. Not sure if the engine changed much between then. "Fill the reservoir until it is full then start squeezing the upper radiator hose and let all the bubbles come out Repeat this process until the coolant doesn't drop in the reservoir Start the car with the cap off the reservoir Repeat the above process until no more bubbles come out."
  25. I've had my amp mounted to my box for a few years with no problems, and it's a el cheapo Profile amp. I know it's not ideal, but it was easy and saves space.
