Figured out why, I saved a thumbnail off Facebook and it saved it small. The little "lip" is to have something to screw into to help seal the enclosure to the cabin.

Damn didn't realize the pic was so small my bad, I'll get a better one tomorrow. As far as the box, it's about 4 ft3, tuned to 30 hz or so. I doubt it will be carpeted , maybe the face. It's gonna be sealed off to the cabin firing through the ski hole. The back of the enclosure will be covered in "beauty panels". I still need to finish up the front stage before I put the sub in. Fronts are Morel MDT-12 tweeters and Dayton RS52AN midranges in kicks; Peerless SLS 8"s in the doors along with the Xcon 15" covering the sub duty. Current deck is an Alpine 9833 (the only reused equipment). I'm using an old school Impulse active Xover to split the mids and tweets in the kicks, and a Clarion 11551 (1550 RMS) on the Xcon. I also have a Fosgate 200 x 2 amp for the mids and a Soundstream Reference (old school) five channel for the mids and tweets.....but I kinda want to sell those and the 10W6s to get 2 matching Clarion amps for the front end.

Yeah, can't wait! Oh, and I'd like to retract my former statement, it was only 6 days. Went in on the Tuesday after Memorial day, shipped the following Monday! I'm 32 years old and I feel like I'm a 10 year old waiting for Santa (only this Santa wears brown shorts)
