  1. thats why i switched over to aero ports, i got sick of building tons of box's. so I found how i wanted to fire the subs, then i can change tuning and what not easier with aeros, then building a new box.
  2. yea hard to catch on a shitty camera. but they move pretty good!
  3. yea i bet, it would be really handy having that bit of storage up there.
  4. im lovin the overhead, i would trade my sunroof for one of those kind of roofs in a second! looks dope man
  5. thats badass man! any more pics of the setup in the truck? i like to get ideas on box's edit.. just went through your whole build log, its sick!
  6. bangin, thats a bad ass truck man, cant wait to see more!!! tracks looks good man, how is your port firing? forward or to the roof? heres some clips i took of mine, not the best, weather all of a sudden got cold and windy so i couldn't take good ones. here is what i got. I think i need to find out a way how to extend my aero ports externally a bit to try a lower tuning, i cant make them longer inside the box or they will hit the bottom. i want to try tuning to my fav 30hz lol. anyone know how to determine how much longer my ports need to be external to reach a certain hz???
  7. yea im going to shoot some videos today, im just having a problem with my sunroof flexing so much, dont want to break it and have it leak right now lol. my truck came step side, and was factory lowered 1.5", then i droped it more with 2" spindles in front, and 3" blocks in the back, total is about 4/5 drop. i bottom out daily and scrape daily lol. it sucks. thanks ken, you will have to see it soon, its pretty loud, still might try some other stuff with it, but love the sa-12's, i just cant heat them up lol, my shades and sa8's i could get warm, these, just keep there cool lol. also i DO need my saz3500 back, these things would get nasty off that amp!!!! p.s im going to shoot like 4 or 5 videos today with different songs, ill post em on youtube later and post up link here!, on a side note, we need more s10 pics/builds in this thread, traks, get yours on here!! i want vids!
  8. yea when i had 2 15" nightshades in mine, i had my seat pushed up a bit, and im 5'6"
  9. yup, what i did to make it 100% secure was, after taking the seat out that folds down, there are 2 studs that stick out from the ground, i used those to bolt down some wood for a base, then put my batter on top, then straped it down with all around, not the prettiest, but i know its not going to go flying if in an accident. i also had to cut some of the plastic to fit the monster batteries lol, then drilled through the floor to ground to the frame.
  10. ok, again, truck is dirty, and different rims from being snow season here. list of whats in the truck.... 99 s10 4.3L Big 3 220amp alt Odyssey 1500 Odyssey 2150 Northstar NSB 75 Sundown Audio 2000D Sundown Audio 125.2 3 Sundown Audio SA-12's Alpine H/U RF Power Comp set 6.5" RF 3 sixty line driver in the last pic shows the false floor, under are the 2 amps, with 3 fans to cool them down. the build isnt done, just way to cold to do anything else.
  11. i actually forgot about this, i will run out now and snap some pics, trucks really dirty, But i wont have videos until sunday. ill go snap shots now tho!
  12. looks good, i also have a sundown s10, ill snap some pics for you this weekend, just did 3 sa 12's off a saz 2k. firing forward, 2 6" aeros firing to the roof. 1 batt under hood 1 batt on each side where the jumps seats were. false floor with 2 amps under it with fans. Works pretty good, im impressed, i DID have 2 15" nighthsades off a saz 3500, then sold that, then 2 sa 8's on my saz 2k at 1ohm, now my new set up. also, truck is droped 4/5
  13. yea, also got my 2 6" new aeros sitting here awaiting
  14. sorry, get my 3 sa 12's monday
  15. just be careful with controlling with the knob as you only crank it about 1/4 way and thats full. the rest of the way up on the knob does nothing. another thing you could do is, turn down your Sub volume on your deck if you have it, that will turn down the input voltage to your amps witch would almost be the same as turning the gain down.
  16. info on the box? ie. size, size of port?
  17. Hostility replied to heckvr4's topic in Sundown Audio
i think he feels the need to as his subs wire to .5, if not they would wire to high of an ohm to send them the amount of power they need.....
  18. alex, could we get some specs on the box please??
  19. yea, trying to figure things out, easiest route is sa 12's, cheapest i believe is sa12's, wiring/ohms the sa12's win there also. so now its a debate of being different, or the cool factor. But im think the sa 12's will win for sure. I also have a scope, so clipping isnt an issue really with me. on a side note i do have a RF 3sixty LINE DRIVER, that i may take out as i haven't really seen any good outcome from having it. i was hoping for it to help with voltage drop as not having the amp gain up that much, but after having it for a year, i havent really noticed anything.. if i had a mic i could do a real test.
  20. yea im not clamping my amp, if i do it will be because im curious, and im bored. So will it even be worth to try and do the 6 with such low wattage going to each one of them? or just say eff it and do 2 sa 12's
  21. yea i know, in reality, on music, i doubt they will be seeing that much power each, maybe 250-300
  22. no sa8's, yea thats what i thought, 67 isnt much, but thats 67 each, thats 400 watts total.
  23. so im thinking either 2 sa 12's at .5 ohm, or 1 ohm, or... i also found wiring in Series / Parallel, with 5 dual 2 ohm subs i can get a final load of .8. or if i under power the 8's but 67 watts each, i can run 6 of them, and wire Series / Parallel to a final load of .7ohms so im kind of leaning going back to my idea with the 8's, i love my 2 little guys, and its something different, i really want to run 6, and running at .7 doesn't really bother me to much.
  24. yea i already knew about that ken!
