yea i was thinking of maybe doing separate chambers, 2 4" ports per sub, sub behind seat, ports up in middle. edit** after playing around with the box calc. 4 4" aeros is to hard to get to work, even with 2 separate chambers. seems like i can only get 3 4" aeros to work right. this is what i have come up with so far.. 2 x SA12's Ports in box height - 19 width - 42 depth - 12 port 3 x 4", 14" long 3.68 ft3 38.04hz 37.68 in2 port now i still have to figure out if i want to run them at 1 ohm or .5 ohm....

ive used both slots, and now using aeros with my 2 8's, dont really notice a difference. they def help with displacement with not taking up much of it. I want to use 4" aeros becuase i have a ton of them, and dont want them just laying around. Im not going for numbers, just daily pounder, but i will be throwing it on the meter just to see, but score doesnt bother me, its all about sound for me and the lows

i see now that it will be .4 ohms with 5 dual 4ohms. so i guess its either 4 sa 8's, or the 2 12's. after finding that out now, the 2 12's does sound like a better option, due to the more cone area. Now i have the option of wiring down to 1 ohm, or .5 ohm for 2 12's. all filters and gains and everything is set properlly, i also own a scope. now how many 4" aero ports would the 2 sa12's need? ALso wonder what i should tune to as right now my 2 8's tuned to 38hz was loudest all around, even down to 30hz.

i know its a risk

why, its done all the time. i dont see there being a problem if you have the electrical to back it up

i chose 5 because they are rated at 400 rms, 400 x 5 = 2000 watts. and its not really craming, they will be seeing .7 cubes each when jacob recommends .6 each. i play a lot of low stuff and my 2 8's right now do a decent job, but some notes they just move a lot and no bass is produced, prob because of such a low note, just dont know if adding more 8's would help, or even if the 12's could do it, i know i am tuned pretty high for playing so low, but it was the loudest at that hz even playing low. just want to make the right choice.

2 SA-8's and an Audiopipe AP-1000D
right now in my s10 pick up truck, i run 2 sa8's on 1000 watts, each seeing .7 cubes, and i have a single 4" external aero port tuned to 38 hz, i tried lower tuning, but wasnt loud at all, and tuning at 38 hz, actually played lower, louder. this is just from my experience.

ahhh ok, that makes sense, well ill have to draw it up on paper and see, but the ports will be behind some of the subs.....

i have found port up in the middle of the box along the backside works best. im not going for numbers.

why does that matter?

ken i didnt draw anything up, just in my head and have dimensions wrote down. it will be plain old box, subs firing forward, 3 4" aero ports firing up, 3.5 cube box at 38hz. im tuning that high right now my 2 have an external 4" aero, and ive tried many different ports ie. 30hz, 35hz and 38hz, and 38 hz got the loudest and lowest.

i would do .7 per 8, ive already designed a box. the extra space wont really matter. but the ohms at .66 final load or, loading wont be an issue with 5 subs?

my orig plan was to run 5 SA8's, i already own 2, so i know how they preform. But im also wondering if i should do 2 sa 12's instead? they will be running off a saz2k, and im willing to run down to .5ohm daily or at 1 ohm. these will be in a s10 ext cab. running 4" aero ports. i know its hard to figure out what would be better, just need some more help deciding. I listen to mostly just music off the tunez section, low bangers.

extra battery??
i am just trying to save me money if it doesnt need to be spent, but it sounds like i have to, thats all i was trying to get at. watts09, sorry about that, i have 2 threads on 2 different forums, i said it on the other one, i thought it was this one, sorry. im currently running at 2 ohms with 13.9 full tilt. and planning next season for .66 ohms. my bad.
-
extra battery??
That won't help significantly, I'd do both to be honest.. Especially at half an ohm. I wish you luck, that WILL void your warranty. i know it will void the warrenty, not to worried about that. as for the 2nd run of Pos. is it worth it maybe to just add the 2nd battery in the back and forget about the 2nd run?
-
extra battery??
I'd do another run of 1/0, another battery, and more grounds. I hate to doubt you man, but 13.9 at full tilt just sounds impossible. I had a SAZ-2000 at .5ohm, with 240amp alt, Yellow Top up front, and 2 Kinetik HC2400's in rear and still dipped into the 12's sometimes. if you were to read it right, it says im running the amp at 2 ohm.
-
extra battery??
its almost going to be what I paid for my amp lol, well not quiet but not far off. What about another run of pos.? Is it worth it for me as I'm only running about 250 amps?
-
extra battery??
voltage right now, running amp at 1ohm full tilt at idle sits around 13.9 + - some depending on the note. reg voltage on a reg basis is 14.4

extra battery??
im suppose to pick up some more 0/1 wire and another battery this weekend, but now im wondering if i really need it. this is what is getting used, i have a sundown saz2000, and a sax 125.2. i plan on running it at .6 ohms next season. for electrical i have big 3 done, 220amp alt, 1 run of 0/1 front to back, odyssey 1500 up front, and a odyssey 2150 in the back. now is it worth it for me to jam another battery in the back? i know the more the better, but is it really needed? also, would i benefit from another run of pos front to back?? im just thinking if i can save the money i should. thanks

3 SA-8's Box Design Help
i have 2 sa-8's in a ext cab s10, my box is 1.4 cubes, with a single 4" aero port, but external, ive tried 30 hz, 35 hz and 38 hz, so far, 38 hz has been the loudest. even playing down real low, 38hz port was louder, i just dont think these have the cone area to get loud at such a low hz. also, im running a saz 2k at 2ohms, so 1000 watts to them
