  1. awsome man thanks, right now i have a wedge box in my s10, subs firing forward behind each seat, and slot port firing up, along the back and in the middle. not metered yet, but its 7 cubes at 31hz, and it does alright. i need something to sound more clean though. ive always wanted to try flared ports though.
  2. what are the specs on that box (dimensions also) did you hit 150+ with this box or the old one? i have 2 15" NS's in my s10, and just looking at different set ups, im running 7 cubes at 31 hz right now. how are these with all those 4" aeros?
  3. pics/specs on box please??
  4. pics of box set up? trying to figure a box out for my s10 with 2 15" nightshades..
  5. its a toss up, i may also do, box height - 29 depth - 14 Length - 47 Port height - 6 width - 16.5 length - 26.5 net air space 7.04ft3. port area 99.00 in2. @32.19
  6. ok, well i think im going to go with that 2nd desgin, sub up, port up, i fixed my current box like that, but its tuned to 36, and it gets loud, but is not hitting the lows i want it to, its 6.7 cubes at 36hz. so bigger box, lower tuning. and all my calculations i gave you, is including all displacement and port correcting, i just want to see if they are right, and maybe if someone can do a visual of it and if the port is right, but my displacement is .42
  7. could i also get these numbers checked out to make sure that this is correct, this is after all displacement, and port correction. the port cut (piece of wood) would be 17.5" long, and use the side of the box for the port to bend.. subs up, port up (on the end) box height - 16 depth - 24.75 Length - 47 Port height - 6.5 width - 14.5 length - 24? net air space 7.11ft3. port area 94.25 in2. @31.83 im debating on the two box's as subs up port up is louder...
  8. yes the calc. i used counts for end correction, and thats after all displacement. i used (exposports) calc. i believe he is on ssa forums aswell.
  9. ok, so i have the dimensions for everything, but i want to make sure if its all good, also if someone could do a sketch of it? 2 - 15" nightshades 1 saz-3500D 99 s10 ext cab subs forward, port in the middle firing up but along the back wall of the box. box height - 27 depth - 14.5 Length - 46.5 Port height - 6 width - 16 length - 26.25 net air space 6.68ft3. port area 96.00 in2. @32.19
  10. well i took out my duals, and put my old single 15 box in with my NS, its 3.5 cubes at 32 hz with 50 sq inches of port, and it sounds awsome, been so long i forgot. so now im just going to double the box for my duals, so run 7 cubes and i think tune to 34 hz this time, with like 105 sq inches of port.
  11. i was told by a s10 guy that knows his stuff, that you cant just toss a certain HZ into my truck. he said that i have to tune to 38 hz for daily. and searching it seems some ppl say it will play down to 30hz tuned that high, but im not 100% sure. its hard getting people telling you different stuff to make a decision. i know im going to do a 7 cube box, with 108 sq inches of port, i just dont know what to tune to.. 34 hz? 36 hz? 38 hz? i want it to slam the lows, but get loud doing it..
  12. Does anyone know if the Nightshades will still play low if the box is tuned to 36-38 hz??
  13. well after doing some thinking, and remembering that my first box i like the sound from, im going to try to do roughly the same thing, but bigger, and more port. my old box was 6 cubes at 32 hz with 80 sq inches of port, subs forward, port up in the middle. so im going to do 7 cubes, 32.5 hz, 108 sq inches of port (but a rectangle box no angle on it. so hopefully keep the same sound, but louder?
  14. awesome thanks jacob, so its a 8 cube box at 32 hz. so the tuning i like, as for the box, looks like im going to have to see what i can chop insde of the cab to make the box longer. im going to try to get ahold of him and get some more info on this as to dimensions and what not. thanks jacob! also if you can get info from the guy that would be great as its not his truck, but he built the box.
  15. well the thing that im worried about is hitting the lows down to 30 hz. so what tune are you thinking jacob? also thats what i would love to do, is 150's on music. and here are the pictures of the box, the first one is the box with the subs forward, 2nd box is sub up, port up. 2nd box ive been getting told to do like 126-154 sq inches of port at 7 cubes for 32hz tuning, but i think that port area is a little to much for daily..... do you have any info on that box jacob? pics or link to thread would help also, thanks
  16. there is a 45 in the port, and i need to fix bracing in the box as the box is flexing now. but ive been told i need a bigger box for tuning that low...
  17. also before anyone says it, no blow through, no full wall, maybe 3/4 but i need rear view mirror, also ive been told i need a bigger box for tuning so low...? and yes those boxes i stated were dead after all displacement. jacob recommends 3-3.5 per 15'. so i did 6 after all displacement.
  18. so ive just finished building my 2nd box for these, and still not satisfied. ive done subs forward, port up in middle, but the box made me move my seat to close to the steering wheel it was 6 cubes 80sq inches of port, and i think there wasn't enough port area. sounded good though. my new box is subs up, port up (drivers side) 6 cubes, 94 sq inches of port. both box's tuned to 32 hz, so im looking to for help on something will i will be happy with, im not looking for numbers, just something that gets low and hella loud at it. my truck is a 99 s10 ext cab. do i need a bigger box for such low tuning? higher tuning? i play a lot of low 30-35 hz songs when i have it full tilt. i can only go max 16" deep with subs up, max 43" long, and height shorter the better, but right now box is 25, and i could go up to like 32? i just dont want my subs and port way above me head. if i do subs forward, the box has to be less depth so i dont have to push my seats forward again. please help box builders!!! P.S running off a saz 3500 at 1 ohm..
  19. sorry i guess i should have wrote that different, i meant, an ETA when they will be in and shipped out. what i meant above is when he opens the pre-sale, will he also post an ETA of when they get to him and shipped out. sorry
  20. will you have an ETA when the pre-sale opens? and how long will the pre-sale be open for?
  21. i cant wait jacob!!!
  22. ok sorry, the box calculator i am using, DOES account for bends in the port, here is a screen pic of what i have (using the calculator) (also sub displacement is 0.12 jacob said, witch is 0.72 for all 6) also i dont use the cutouts that the calculator gives me, i figure it out on my own.
  23. ok i was told to post this here, this is a link to my thread. can i please get some help on this please! sa-10 box help - SSA Car Audio Forum
