I think a sound club would be more appropriate for right now, we are all pretty broke, and perhaps a little too green for the lanes as far as a full blown team goes. we do all share a common intrest in car audio as well as just being car enthusiast in general. there are 8 of us currently, we meet up a few times a month but are always texting or calling, so it's forming daily. the club derived from my hope to have a crew of ground pounders that interacted with each other and the community, as some of the larger, more popular car clubs do. In addition to this , like mdizzle mentioned above, we are into learning from each other, and doing builds, tweaking systems, cruising.. . etc. The reaction we get when out cruising varies, however it typically seems to be full of shock and praise for over the top audio sytems, " dam. your sh*it is loud!" , " man, I never seen any thing like this" , " look at the roof moving!".... these statements give you a cocky feeling, on top of your game, if it is for only but a second! after giving a demo and somebody has just told me how insane the system is, I often find my self saying " I Already Know !" hence the name of our club, IAK! We are working to have a family like inviroment, and an effort to involve the community, espeacially the youth. Some of us live in the inner city, bad areas, so reaching out to the youth with something different and positive just feels right. IAK, this is what our logo derived from, mdizzle done the first few drafts, we are not going to commit to just one yet, but I am surley going to use this one for a while. the comments are welcomed, I agree it is hard to figure it out without an introduction of what it even stands for, but i guess, for us, that might be part of the attraction. Thanks to all of SSA, I speak for all of us when I say that this forum is a vital part of our growth. Chop. IAK
  3. wait for the fun part of the weekend to go away......things are slow right now....you'll want to include what you are powering the sub with, as well as , your music listening preferance. Chop
  4. Hey IA, I picked up the 187's today that you shipped to Indy, well packed, super clean looking sub. solid as hell. They carry your products, but perhaps have not played with them mutch. They were all over the 187 and said they ordered the Dp21"s , some real cool guys there at Sinister Auto Sports. Bear will be dropping the Cougar off tommorow for me to finish trunk. cant wait to get them in and give it a listen!
  5. it looks like a 10/10 minus the slight wear on the mounting tabs from previous install, if it came with a plastic bag, i would say it was new.
  6. picked ours up today, DAM , they are nicely built, the guys at the shop are all into them, so now they are ordering the dp 21"s!
  7. will be watching, makes me miss the old mazda!

uh, irraggi, mechman, dc power engineering, exccessive amperage, ohio generators, Ho highoutput alternators..........ummmm, db electrical............ should get you started
  12. uh, I personally take a little while....noteing that i currently don't have a garage. so gathering up and putting away the tools, takes some time. second thing that extends my builds, details. measure, measure, measure, cut, moch up, (well when it applies), like physically place board in area to test fit, sometimes that trunk boot is a b*t*h to pass through and fit box in its final resting place, well any way, then you gotta glue, clamp, predrill with counter sink, screw..... uh, braceing, caulk, 45's, maybe resin for some folks, .....round over edges, wood filler all screw holes, sand any slightly misalligned joints, ummm, pending on exterior finish preferances, theres carpet, resin, paint, roll on bed liner, vinyl, perhaps some other material............there is also the wiring option, wire cups, bolts, just a hole and silicon ........and then i like the t-nuts for the mounting of the subs, gotta install them..........so, yeah, it can go fast and as you start to expand your skill level and preferance, then it is time to invite friends and make a day of it................ but let me tell you, there is not a dam thing wrong with a cardboard box, duct tape, the guts out of a pillow and a old sh*tty sub! car audio is a hobby, a past time, with lots and lots of science to it, but over all, just have fun with it. Chop

  14. Thats the same setup i got going right now. They really love the power from that amp :] awesome, any pics ,vids, ?
  15. listen to me very carefully, I know a guy who knows a guy who does these things! lol look around on here and find mdizzle... he is hooked on this stuff, but be ready with lots of info for him or whoever. have all of the info upfront, just post it right on here. vehicle, equipment, music listening preferance, lots of measurements, all your specs, ,,,,everything that you can provide, have it ready, even where you live, it will help if you are close to one of us. if all this fails, send the subs to me and i wil see that they have a good home, lol lol lol seriously! send em' to me!
  16. o he was a dandy
  17. uh, we are struggling with the same thing, the cougar has a huge steel lid that acts an a** when the bass hits. Deaden the whole trunk and port that deck!
  18. ah man you dropped the d-word, lol, the funny thing is, i didn't know who the hell you was talking about at first, i tend to use pork chop everywhere.............. even my attorney calls me chop!
  19. gotcha , only problem i currently have is i gotta get a new cord thingy to get the pics from the camera to the pc. we will have some pics up of bears trunk install soon, watch for it!

uh, that fellar that runs DC seems pretty dam cool so far, he and I have been sorta talking lately, I have not made any decisions yet cause of our grandbaby just being borned, but if you hit him up with a few questions, he is quick to respond. tell you what, if you snatch up that sub, you will have my attention! I feel you on the ho alt, I sold my little mazda because there was no big ho alts out there and custom ordering a big ol' ho alt for a car with 278,000 miles on it seemed risky........ not much chance of resale if the car would of sh*t out. but in your case, popular truck, direct bolt on, easy resale, i mean what da problem is<saysit all ghetto like , lol seriously , quit teasing yourself, hook her up, tear out all your electrical, (those little ugly shortcuts) upgrade your alt and do a super clean big three, solder and all! you know you are not getting out of the game anytime soon lol. besides you said yourself you like doing the builds, do work son!!!! < all hype sounding lol oops almost forgot....... [email protected]......... just have your paypal account info ready , ha ha
  21. not fair! I want a demo, oh well ,cause i am only a couple of hours from shizzzon and he said he would hook us up for a demo, soooo ,nanny nanny bob boo.......lmao!
  22. your right! we just keep faith. seems to level things out a little. We got our amp, head unit, truck, and wireing (welding cable) starting to look real close at subs as well as front stage........... really want to go outside and start gutting the interior out of the ol dakota, lol
  23. thanks bro, you are right on the money with family being first.............. it is more of a relaxed feeling around here now that he is borned, remembering that for three weeks straight ,they repeatedly told us any day now, any day now, .....wow!,, lol.
