  3. yezzir! your request has been noted!
  4. thanks brother! they will fit the bill ever so nicely!
  5. right on, i will tackle the paint once the build is complete...few other attributes i want to address all at the same time with the finish, i am thinking about using the 100.4 for the four midbass and the 100.2 for the midrange..... skipping the tweeter sounds like a good approach, easy to add later if i feel lost without it. good advice bro!
  6. thanks bro!
  7. those buss bars are ftw!
  8. too weird we were talking about your ride and then pow! it's back the one that had your name on it was champagne though, lol
  9. TA-DA !!! problem solved! lol
  10. lmao, iak brother....ha ha, the grandson has to help me out, he is the lil foreman on the job! gotta keep me on the right path.
  11. i am unofficially part of Team SSA.... I rep them often on our local cruise strip and local shows.... for two years now, educating the masses! lol no, just informing folks of a sound alternative to some gear choices. i chose not to fully pursue the membership, until i have fully installed the Xcons. i have displayed the pamplet with three of the four SSA series subs for quite a while... Mark and Aaron know i am always representing them proudly. just on me to take the final steps. front stage, probably going to be in phases, as in trial and error basis. i think i am either tone def, or have picky taste, lol i need loud, well i mean two 18" xcons behind my head, need loud enough to keep up nicely... i do not like harsh highs... and i love mid bass that can hit tight lil jabs to the kidneys and belch out vocals that tear right through the bass and still carry clarity...... the doors and kicks are not truly 'ready' and waiting for custom upgrades.... so here is my piss poor and hopelessly fail proof plan...start with equipment i can get close to what i think i like, slowly modding the areas needed to accomidate accordingly..... i think it will be a challenge for me to nail it the first few attempts, when i do, then i will fully coomit to the finished look. yes that means raw mdf and ruff glass projects for a short while, lol any input on acetone for foam leaks removal without harming the paint too much? jc thanks for the compliment!
  12. lol, iak! measure, cut, strip, crimp, soder, heat shrink.........repeat ! lol With 40 to do I'm sure there will be more "repeats"! honestly bro, all 40 should not be used, but they are 10 packs, i always help out other local installs, so a few extra on hand is welcomed. the big three,(i always do 4), will be done in dual runs, so under the hood alone.... block to frame ground = 4 alt to frame ground = 4 alt to battery positive = 4 battery to frame ground = 4 battery negative going to rear = 2 battery positive going to rear = 2 (the 4 in-line, anl fuse holders will not need ring terminals) there is 20 of those bad boys right there! then there is a trunk full too! coming out of the rear in-line, anl fuse holders going into the batteries positive = 2 battery 1 positive to battery 2 positive = 4 coming out of battery positive into (3) circuit breakers = 6 *(3 amps)* coming out of circuit breaker going into amp positive = 3 negatives coming from front battery into negative battery 1 =2 battery 1 negative to battery2 negative =4 negative to amps from batteries = 3 negative to chassis from batteries = 8 (preferance to be grounded in rear also still being pondered) thats 24 in the trunk ..... i have 12 in the shed and 40 on the way... repeat*repeat*repeat* ................... lol
  13. lol, iak! measure, cut, strip, crimp, soder, heat shrink.........repeat ! lol
  14. right on! i will probably be working on finishing up the electrical by next weekend. thanks for your input bro!
  15. I know, right! about time! lol momma chop picked a AQ2200 for her durango today also, will be upgrading her ride soon too!
  16. need to cut two more boards for the back and it will be duraglass time for a few days......then comes the sanding! lol weather just has not let up until now, but i am getting back in there!
  17. ordered some gear yesterday... should have ..... (4x) 0 gauge, in line, anl fuse holders 20' 8 gauge blue speaker wire 20' 8 gauge black speaker wire 3 circuit breakers 40 more 0 gauge ring terminals 100' of 12 guage speaker wire new dash kit blue digital volt meter this should get me pretty close, i have a few other items chosen, just waiting on funds to get right... those batteries are top notch cosmetically bro, nice equipment, good seller = Chicagofan!
  18. will be there to see in person noonish!!!!
  19. guess i need to clarify a few things for optimal clarity on this...lol i currently have a stock alt, soon to be upgrade, but for now lets assume it will be upgraded in this senario. i have a stock front battery in which i will upgrade to something a little more beefier, it is rather puny. i will have dual runs of 0 gauge cable throughout the big three. ground from motor to frame. ground from alt to frame. power from alt to battery. there will also be dual runs of 0 gauge from the front battery to the rear battery bank. two grounds. two positives. okay, two in line anl fuse holders right after the stock location battery under the hood as the two runs go toward the rear batteries. now! i believe it to be correct to have two in line anl fuse holders right before the batteries in the rear and right after as well, so like before the amps.... is this the correct placement for each of the fuse holders? with two batteries in the rear, should i ground them to each other, as well as all amps ground to both and finally both ground to rear chassie and dual runs from front battery ground...... both batteries positives to each other , all amps to both positives, as well as to two runs from front battery positives...... is that all correct, for even dispurtuion? so , about 40 ring terminals and 6 fuse holders needed....if i am on the right page.....
  20. nice approach bro, keep it up!
  21. ran two runs each of power and ground, secured via zip strips and mostly inside of frame. not alot of pics, in fact only one was worth keeping....fail a combination of 0 gauge american bass and welding cable.... also will picking up two batteries from chicagofan this week end for the trunk. stinger spv70 Battery Specifications Cranking Amps: 1050 Watts: 2100 CCA: 875A Amp Hours: 70 Weight: 57.3 lbs Dimensions: 6-1/2"D x 13-3/4"W x 6-7/8"H fixed all the wiring in the dash, ready to install the alpine this weekend, with a little fitment tweaks and a new dash kit. little progress , but i am happy, feels like i am finally turning the corner! looks like i still have about 1 1/2" of lift left in the air shocks for the remaining weight ... so i should be fine with that too!
  22. Big "J" , if you got a sec, will you point me in the direction of your battery diagram showing series wirring, please kind sir?! Shizzzon suggested you assistance. do you have a alt that fits a 86 cutlass 307 by chance, seeing hows your a collector of, lol.
  23. well, first off thanks for the stated interest! we will have to regroup from the smileys for a moment, lol............. We (Team IAK Audio) have folks quite abroad indeed, a few right there in your state! I will PM you the approach in which we have adopted. IAK...... be it an acronym or initialism, it is a expression of pride in quite a few instances... it's exspansion is, I Already Know! Perhaps briefly and best decribed as when one is full of pride, satisfied of thier accomplishments, chest stuck way out there and the response is ordered after a compliment is paid..... " dam, your ride is loud"! "IAK" lol thats our team, we adopted this from a old timer who often said " I already know, Hommer"!, lol, and often, old man Paulson did indeed , already know..... we are humble and know our place in any given scene, our light hearted, family approach leaves us the ability to enjoy our hobby to the fullest, always ready to learn more, but when the opportunity comes, it is a pride filled moment for sure. thanks for asking/ always love to give RIP(sniper) his props for inspiring our team name. i will have to look up the original post, as it is buried in here somewhere chicagofan. i love some of the suggetive acronyms however, rather creative! chop
  24. he aint right in the head though!
