  1. would like some help in looking up any installs that use four or more 15/18" xcons..... attempting to become familiar with these larger, more extreme set-ups.... any info, links, direction offered is greatly appreciated.... i did see thumpers 4 15" xcons with the all white, glassed enclosure.....any one know what this metered at.... the specs of it? thanks for the help fellars, i plan on returning the favor soon, perhaps with my own xcon build log. chop
  2. but i have been watching two ssx's for a minute now.... would be nice to have around, lol

  4. the caprice will not be the one....... other plans for it...tba at a later date i have several rides i am looking at,,,, wanting airspace to be a factor, among a huge list of other must haves..... the audio will be the big part of the ride.... like duh, lol....... have every intention on using xcons.... um, how many, what size, power, tunning.....electrical????? this time next week, expect answers.... videos/pics/ build logs will soon follow.... chop
  5. great build, the vid is sweet.... the truck looks great.... you got it going on bro! good job! 150db+=ftw!!! chop
  6. wow! speechless
  7. i have never attempted it, however, i have heard of sand , packaging peanuts, and other items that you can fill up the area with, transfere it to a container that you do know what the volume is....this should give you good results, all seems tedious and over the top...... lol, probably the exact reason i threw it out there for you.... lol i would assume this is the best path, being creative with what item you use will be key... chop
  8. another package due tomorrow! chop
  9. steve, i have seen builds where a portion of the enclosure is glassed...thickly, multiple layers... but still offers more air than the straight path that the mdf offers.... what is your take on the body lines and this install approach? does it look as if it would offer up some addtional room? enough to encourage the project to move forward? i wonder if you were to glass it out to the max dimensions....then design a 4th order, sorta the same, subs facing up and ports firing forward, approach.... but let the lower chamber, the top sealed.... the subs face into a sealed chamber, straight up.... this would be, of coarse, them inverted and truly be firing into the ported...sorry, poor wording here.... wish you could see me pointing at the imaginary box i just built in my head, lol does what i am saying make sense? seems like you would stand to gain output this way...and flatten the response some.... the design should offer a way to "switch out" the different bafflesand ports, it has been suggested that when designing fourth orders to plan on at least three designs to "nail" it...... then you could begin to paint and finalize the look after testing..... just a thought, if not this approach, the glassed bottom still might offer more airspace for a typical ported enclosure..... chop
  10. would fiber glassing a area help increase some airspace? i will try to look at your build too see if i can pick up some clues.... chop
  11. nice pic..... as in one...... as in not enough!!! we want more, background clues or not, lol i would love to try it out for a spin, you should swing by, lol interior pics ftw.. as well as the engine bay. needs a IAk badge too! i am hype to your approach on the audio...! chop

Big Josh!!! ----- show them pics bro, don't be stingy!! lol oh, and soapbox, you could gain a full db by adding our logo to your sig!!!! chop

  20. funny how plans change............ there might be a different direction in the air...... will report back in a week or so. chop
  21. LOL, my wife walked by while I was bringing all that out and said "WTF is all that shit? Looks expensive." Busted, but too late now. lmao!!! super hype for you bro! chop
  22. with any build, there is always a extra sense of pride when others are 'un-familiar' with a product you are using.... the wow factor increases from the very start. i watched hundreds of people drag thier friends toward the xcon install, giving them a very rushed and excited review of thier demo of just moments before.... the deeper, rich qaulity of the sound and the power in wich it was delivered, leaves them in awe at the 1500 watts of whoopass being laid down on the sheet metal ! this was a single sub, i plan on multiplying it by four and increaseing the power as well!!!!! chop
  23. Hawk......... still working on that.... soapbox..... whoot!!!! in the lanes = ftw chop
  24. lmao @ the vid....tooo funny bro! the build, as you have been told, is awesome, and your kinship top your son is very admirable. multiple vids now , ftw!!! chop
  25. looking good.... watching, learning, planning..... hope to build mine up soon after.... just curious if you have talked to Hank lately.... thought about picking his brain some on my next build.... we are sort of nieghbors, like an hour or so away..... will that rear seat have the ability to come into contact with the sub if a passenger sitting there? if so, what measures will you take to prevent it from hitting the sub? i will be pushing the limit on my space, i will have a very similar area in question, just on the front seat, this is why i am asking.... keep it up! keep up the good work! chop
