  1. its gonna be a daily box. it will be in a focus hatchback. i listen to mainly rap music with low bass lines. im just not too sure how the sub up port back setup will work and i dont want to have to build another box if this one doesnt sound right.
  2. are you going to be able to mount the bottom of the top subwoofer? it looks like ur ledge just slowly dissapeared at the bottom of the top hole.
  3. shit bangs bro! looks great
  4. u should enter it into the ssa subwoofer contest.
  5. hey guys, im having a hard time deciding on which box to build for my 18" nightshade. i will be using a hifonics brutus bxi1610d amplifier. i have a fairly small trunk but the sub will fit with a correctly sized box. i used the re calculator to come up with 2 different designs. i need your help to choose which would be best. here is the first one http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac235/thebiggmann12/2.png and the second one is here http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac235/thebiggmann12/Untitled.png the one with the port along the bottom would be port back sup up and the other one would be port up sub up. it will be going in a hatchback focus. if u need any more information i will be glad to give it to you.
  6. how high is it?
  7. does ur truck have a split backseat? if so, why dont u just take one side out and build a nice sized box in that section, and then still be able to have people sit on the other side?
  8. do not get a cap...instead get a battery. caps are a waste of money.
  9. lol should make it a little easier to take it out of the box, no more chizzle
  10. dont quote me on this but i think that if u decrease the internal volume of the box (putting the sub in) it will raise ur tuned frequency
  11. i have never had a problem with my hifonics putting out rated power, like i said, i have a 1600 watt hifonics brutus amp and it beats the shit outta my nightshade.

did u try emailing [email protected]?
  13. if ur trying to stay cheap, i would look into hifonics...i have a bxi1610d and everybody says that they dont put out rated power but it sure beats the hell out of my nightshade lol. i havnt had a problem with hifonics and it is relatively cheap. sundown is def a better product but for the money hifonics gets the job done. definatly stay away from boss audio tho.
  14. the ssd 15 is 199 before shipping but if he is using one it will still be about 100 bucks cheaper than buying 2 10's for 150 a peice.
  15. ok well if that is what u want. definately looks good though. post pics when building starts!!!
  16. 38 hz might b a little high for daily. but other than that it looks great.
  17. u could probably look into the fi ssd 10"s they are 169 a peice and they will definately sound good and will not require a rediculous sized amp. or u could look into a single 15 setup and that would give probably more output for about the same cost. a single 15" ssd runs 199 and only has an rms of 800 watts. so u could get the single 15, and then an 800 watt amp, or u can get a sundown saz1000d and then set ur gains down, and that would definately sound great. just my .02
  18. too bad the new e series from sundown isnt out, the 10's are gonna b 130 a peice and they would definately b good
  19. right on bro should sound great. post pics of the build and make sure u tell the place that builds the box to do a double baffle. and if ur already paying for the box, have them put some 45s in the corners to help with air flow.
  20. yea the 28 hz sounded great, but if ur wanting all around sound u should probably tune a little higher, it tore the hell out of the lows but it didnt hit the highs as well. i would probably tune it around 31 hz or so.
