  1. depending on the time and if i have to work or not i might actually come to this lol
  2. why not just run 1 3500 at 1 ohm with the subs u have? that extra power isn't really needed...i have a buddy with one on a 1200d and it retarded loud.
  3. you could also try it yourself. there are quite a few helpful tutorials on the interweb, might even be one on here.
  4. what do u think jacob?
  5. i never noticed how small sa-8s were until a local "comp" had a guy with 16 of them came and opened his trunk...needless to say, he shoulda got some sundown in there lol. he metered outstandingly low. but they sure are little guys.
  6. lol hopefully i will be trading the ns for the sa-8s. then i gotta get rid of my other ns motor and possibly do even more 8s.
  7. so the 4 8s would probably be a better idea? possibly slightly louder?
  8. ok, so i have a nightshade 18 now, but i am thinking of switching to 4 SA-8s. i would have slightly less cone area (201 vs 254) but wouldn't i also have a higher amount of motor force and air displacement because of the added xmax of 4 woofers vs 1 woofer? what do you guys think? on the 1500 watts im running now, what would be the better route? im really just going for daily listening, i don't compete. there is also the wow factor of popping the hatch and saying "yea...those are 8s" but any input is appreciated. also, please don't flame for this being another vs thread, im really just trying to find the relationship between motor force and cone area.
  9. please do yourself a favor...DO IT! it is a huge difference...if u build it yourself it costs less than 75 bucks (depending on mdf prices in your area). make sure u do it right tho.
  10. What do you mean by "too much sub"? To be effective, whether being loud or trying to move tons of air, it's not about cramming as many woofers in a vehicle as you can. There is a thing as too much woofer. true story.
  11. lol good job.
  12. or a sundown nightshade. it likes small boxes which is very nice for a daily driver, so u can still have trunk space. mine is loud as piss.
  13. take measurements of ur trunk.
  14. not to step on godsmack's toes, but why don't u just turn the gain down a bit, until you can take it to a shop with an o-scope?
  15. focus. 38mpg on the highway, room in the trunk for an 18" sundown nightshade and a stock electrical system good enough to support the saz1500 powering it. never breaks even while i drive the shit out of it always.
  16. get a nightshade 18...u will be uber happy lol, and btw, welcome to the forum. its the shit, just sit back, relax and prepare to learn.
  17. should be fine, i would also do the hole on the tit. makes it less likely to wiggle out of the amp. and maybe don't go all the way through, just drill the hole and use a tap to make it thread in about halfway.
  18. i like it when people sell stuff on craigslist or whatever, and they will sell the subs and amp together and they will say "the explode amp is 1200 watts and the subs are 1200 watts a peice so there is 3600 watts of POWER!"
  19. damn, i clicked on ssa and popped up saying that maintenance was going on or something, and i'm like DAMMIT!!!! lol
  20. op, are you talking about box tuning or the actual frequency?
  21. irragi makes a great alternator...lots of people have them and love them. i plan on getting one sometime eventually.
  22. GET A FOCUS!!!! lol.
