i would go with the bls so u dont have to use the bare minimum box size. you only have about 7.5 cubes in the back of a focus hatch b4 port displacement and sub displacement.

you ride around in 40 degree weather, with a sweatshirt, and a carhart jacket on, just so you can have ur windows down to get the best sound possible.

this is a second box that i have now. 28 hz. sub and port up. the first box sounded great all around, the 28 hz box got a little lower, im hoping this 3rd box will be even stronger in the lows section.

idk...im just looking for a little more output in the lows section...i listen to alot of chopped and screwed music, so losing a little bit of highs isnt a big deal for me. im gonna get some better doors so that might help a little bit but all in all it isnt a big deal. the box i have now is tuned to 28 and it gets loud low, but i figured i dont really have anything else to do today and 2marrow so i could build a box and then if it helps, i will use it. if not then i will swap them out lol.

hey guys, if i tuned a box to 26.5 hz would it hurt the sub? ik fi recommends 28 but i like it a little lower than it is now. so im gonna build a new box, and tune it to 26.5 if u think it would b ok. ne help would b great. thanx.

hey guys, this is probably a noob question, but i have an 18" fi q in my car with the bp option. i have it hooked up to a hifonics 1610 1600watts rms, i am running about 1200 (i set it with a dmm). its in a 6.3 cubic foot box after displacement, and its tuned to 31 hz. my question is, why is it that when my doors are open it sounds alot louder than with the door shut. opening the windows helps when im driving, but its getting cold and i wasnt sure if there was anything i could do to make it loud with the doors and windows shut. any help would b great. thanx.

thank you for a fast response. i have another question. i have heard from a few people that a pioneer head unit will have a bad grounding on the rca's? how would i fix that. there isnt anything wrong with my setup but i dont want anything to go wrong in the future.

focusfanatics.com says that they are 5x7 and 6x8s...maybe 2 mounting holes??? idk lol i havnt had the speakers out yet. thats a good idea, just putting a good front set in. thats what i will do. my budget it probably like 250 bucks...ik its not alot but im in school, and pay insurance on my bike and my car and gas, so at the end of the week i dont have much money left.

i would go with the bottom one just because its the biggest, and normally the bigger the lower, plus its tuned the lowest and has the most port length, so u wont have any port noise which is a plus. just my .02...im not an expert. post some pic when ur done.

im working on a very small budget...plus i dont really like to hear the words of the music...i dont like rap music. i just like bass, my door speakers are for the rock music i listen to, and i turn the sub down a bit for rock.

hey guys, i normally dont put aftermarket door speakers in my car bc i have never had anything loud enough to need them lol, but i got an 18" fi q and its pretty loud. my door speakers are in the process of becoming blown lol, so im looking to upgrade...i dont really want to run an amp, would like to just do some speakers, preferably that will fit in the stock location. it will be in a 2003 ford focus zx3. the stock speakers are 6x8 and 3 inches deep. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx guys.

did you have any filters on? what amp was it? was there any eq? The Phase is on O, the Bass EQ is on 0db, Sub Sonic Filter set around 21 hz. its on a hifonics 1610d. both of the test tones were 0db. they r the ones off of realmofexcursion.com.

i used 50 hz test tone when i did my gain and then i used a 35 hz test tone and my voltage was different. i dont remember what the numbers were but i believe it dropped down like 10 volts.
