Why do you say get the copper coils.. If you got aluminum on yours? Asking because I'm thinking about some hdc3's myself i bought mine used and it just happened to have the aluminum coils. i was just telling you what i have and even though its rated at 1000 watts u can def run more to it. also, i heard that the aluminums have different spiders...idk if that makes any difference or not but the guy i got my sub from said he liked the spiders on the aluminum better than the spiders on the copper.

get the copper coils...they will love the 1500 watts...im running a saz1500d on my hdc3 with aluminum coils and it slams like hell.

some menards and lowes carry 1" and somebody on another forum found a lowes that carries 1 1/8th or 1 1/4 mdf id remember which one it was but either way...thick shit. just go in an look and if they don't have any on the shelf, ask if they can order it. also, check ur local lumber stores. they might also be able to order it or tell you who can.

did u wire the sub down to .5 ohm or up to 2 ohm?

go buy a 3.5 mm wire from walmart for 3 bucks and its the same thing, just plug it into the back of ur indash in the aux input spot and then plug the other end into ur headphone jack.

but seriously, u have an aux input, so go buy a 3.5 mm wire and plug it into the headphone plug in on an mp3 player.

ssf at 60-100...i like mine at 60 but its really just preferance. keep ur phase turned all the way down. try finding out the box size...if its too big it could make it sound bad.

my friend has 2 of these 12's in his s-10 in some prefab box and they don't sound very good. if u build ur own box they could possibly sound better, but not much is going to sound good in a prefab box.

what voice coil does that sub have? d2 or d4? is the amp rated at 2 ohms or 1 ohm?

hell if u can get 3.5 after displacement and port, you could do a 15" nightshade...they like smaller boxes...3.5 is their maximum recommended.

yea it really just depends on what you want to do...as long as the air gets into the cabin and your not looking to get crazy high tl scores, you should be fine doing whatever u want.
