  1. You should use the slope and crossover position that sounds the best to you. The shallower the slope and the lower the cross point the harder it is on your mids due to them getting more midbass. Without knowing the volume you listen at, the speakers and your install, as well as the music you will play through them NO ONE can help you. Personally I'd start with them really low and shallow and work your way up. Everything is a compromise.

Nice upgrade! GTi is a great driver
  3. That had to be a joke. No way in hell that could have been a serious statement. It should have been, but then I would have expected a response...
  4. Sell and add to the budget: Spend it all on a single comp set, cross it and your sub over a little higher and enjoy.

SKAR... Should have been What woofs, you fool.
  6. Not enough cone area to hit 150 across that whole range. Going to have to narrow it down. Also going to require a box that is designed to peak pretty hard at the expense of the rest of the range. Better make sure you are willing to make that compromise.

    Sorry mang
  8. You should spend some money on glasses. The ones in your avatar are ready to be replaced. It'll seriously help with the ladies.
  9. I lived in Fargo ND when I had the most gear in my cars. If you think its cold there, lol Just be a little wary wanging when they are "frozen"
  10. An EQ to add an EQ is stupid. If you don't have a reason to "fix" something then it will only make your system sound worse. Of course, knowing what you need to fix may either give us an easier or alternative route, but if not at least we can recommend an EQ that will do what you need.
  11. Take everything you have and sell it. Let us then know what your total budget is and we can start to work on a solution. Also need to know goals, car, locations....etc
  12. lol. well i know 150db is good number to shoot for...i would like to score higher but 150 would make me happy. i listen to rap mostly... young jeezy. gucci mane. gorilla zoe. all low hitting bass. what do you mean by doctored ?? freq range ?? i want to hits the lows good so i was thinking between 28-30hz... i dont think i need a wall really... im thinking about building 2 boxes like the ones i have now... just bigger and bigger ports... but im not good with the design programs as ive never used one before Why 150dB? And over what frequency range? *never heard Young Geezy, Gucci Mane, Gorilla Zoe and so on. Don't care to. Either way the step for you remains the same. If you are sure what range the bass notes play and for what you truly need 150 on then your goal is not yet defined.
  13. Let me just clarify. What I said was if you electrical and wiring will healthily support 100w then I don't care if its from a 100w amp or a 10,000w amp (assuming similar topologies & efficienies) as either will be fine playing that 100w. *yes you can replace the 100w with whatever number you like
  14. If I am so sad, why don't you air the truth about why the new owners even have to deal with your "oops" tiles. As for the thought to me, I could give a shit less. I just feel bad for the guys you ripped off selling your business away to. Flat out unconscionable. Only thing predictable here is you will lie, cheat and do whatever to make a buck, but obviously you already know that and now will run away. You don't have the balls to truly have this discussion, but instead want to just flop by and call names out and pretend you are above the messes you make. If you do, come on, prove me wrong. That is all I've ever asked for but you've never once even come close to obliging the request because you know you'll just get exposed.
  15. You apparently did not try to make them sound good, because they can. L7's???? lol no sir they do not. thats the onl reason i got rid of mine.... it got damn loud and dirty low BUT the SQ was SHITTY big time. i have heard numerous l7 set-ups in many different vehicles and i have yet to hear on with good SQ. now the cvx, thats a different story. they have good sq and spl. They are the exact same motor... ya but the cvx is round..... do u see square sound waves??? the l7 is louder from more cone area IMO Do you see round ones? Do you even see any? WTF is that? Are you seriously that confused? The ONLY, ONLY, ONLY reason they didn't sound good is that you had them in a jacked installation screwing them up. Would I pick them as my SQ driver of choice? No, but I own one and I fucking hate SPL burp systems. They can be rather musical, but regrettably not in the hands of an idiot. It is flat out assinine to say differently, but either way I wait for your description of these magical fairy round sound waves. Can't wait to hear this one, rofl.
  16. NO. Once they are 2 years old, fuck eating them. I'd MUCH rather eat bambi.
  17. You tried so hard, I'd feel bad if I didn't throw you some bone. Way to man up Of course, the critical questions you left out and took offense to. Considering all we have is your subjective idea of something and a lofty and strange goal of a number its hard to go on. Why 150dB, what kind of music, is it doctored, how much of a frequency range do you need, why do you think you need a wall versus an enclosure, yadadadadada. I don't quite follow your wants or why and YES they will determine really what you need.

Glad you left that boner behind
  19. Exactly, but when there are there are a crapton. Made that drive a good 40 times.
  20. Hehe Now now Sean, No need for bring SKAR up. I just enjoy doing builds. Sorry, just seemed to belong. Something about catering to that sort of denominator. Wasn't meant to be a rip on you. My avatar came from KC. First real drive was a quick blast from KC to Wichita which is either a great road to speed on or one of the worst, conveniently the day I bought her was cop free
  21. Going to make you smile
  22. Did he just make Team Skar?

There are things I can do, but won't.
  24. im disrespectful ?? LOL i ask some questions and you make a dick post... i never once called you names... and ya im not getting help huh thats why everyone else in this topic is trying to help me LOL....like i said if you dont have anything good to post just dont post .... its really not that hard.. Shitty questions deserve what? Good questions get good answers. The difference is simple too, it isn't in the context of the question as there aren't any dumb questions, just dumb people. You get to choose how you are perceived. Rather easy to follow directions, disrespectful not to. Best part is if you don't, you'll get "help" but it'll be for the wrong reason, wrong solution, and on top of it you'll misunderstand it. That'll be "helpful". This is REALLY, REALLY simple. There are VERY easy rules that YOU agreed to follow. Read them and , you'll be surprised at how things change. "
  25. im honestly not good with geometry so thats why i asked....duh.. What are you good at? And I never told you to do the geometry, but perhaps to describe your challenge so we could help. I have an idea. Why don't you NOT post until you read the threads in my link and think very thoroughly about what you are trying to ask. Then write your post. Re-read it 3+ times, make sure its clear, ask your friends to read it and see if they understand every detail and THEN press "Add Reply". I am sure your answers will come easy then.
