  1. Nope, stop reading things how you want to. Put yourself in a theoretical world and then apply it to anywhere in the spectrum. Lets say your anomaly knocked out your 26Hz. By your post above you wouldn't like that so much. Take it a step less extreme and say it did it to some other note that is popular in any of the music you currently listen to. Or how about any note in music you may soon start listening to. Or fuck, let me just be as general as hell and say any music anywhere in the spectrum. You say that's cool with you? Then say that a particular note or set of notes or again to generalize an octave of notes removed, altered, reduced, gained, is desirable? Don't understand how you can desire that as a positive trait in trying to listen to the music you are playing. My comments were never about system overall volume, capability, goals etc, but as I said: In your case perhaps listening isn't the goal.
  2. Indeed and why not. My 59 Beetle had Conquest TSI seats in it. In your case, I'd consider it a chance to upgrade! Nothing even nice about F-body seats IMO.
  3. Nice work! They could be, but in a classic PA sense you will need more than 2 drivers covering the frequency range to make that happen. Bandwidth or output, not both.
  4. Nice score J, now the question becomes what to use and what to resell ROFL. Sounded great and now was uber fast. At least you are funny, although it is usually when you aren't trying to be.

Dude, I was drunk on my boat. Only jelly I wasn't there to share the fun. I wish, hadn't seen power in 3+ weeks.
  7. Those speakers was in the car when I bought it ... wasn't my idea ... With a 12 second street / strip car, less weight as possible was the concept ... not the big stereo system ... If you do not like the way I type, then you can ban me ... I really don't give a Shit ... Trying to make the site more intelligent? You were the one that said sounded great.

That isn't saying so much, I wouldn't use the MS8's. I also don't even care if it has one because no matter what it makes assumptions that I won't.
  9. It messes up the frequency response. That's okay to you? What it shows me is that you haven't heard a system that was setup properly. When comparing not so good to not so good and all around you then surely you might have a preference for one or the other. Perhaps my goals are strange. When I listen to music, I want to listen to the music.
  10. I am not sure what to say next. I know nothing of budget, mounting locations, available processing, preferences and so on. At the moment I wouldn't order anything if I were you as it surely doesn't sound like you are ready for a 3 way active setup. I may be uninformed, but you haven't shared enough for you to change that yet.

All combinations of overlap/underlap/slope have to occur at some time too. And again, when working on this between driver x,y,z you can only do x,y at the same time and the rest should be off. Starting to see why I don't recommend three ways very often? Have an idea why 3 way passives are a fucking joke?* *all mounted on the same baffle should** be okay **should doesn't mean manufacturers even care, nor do the right thing

    Fuck you.

Too early for high volume stuff then. Please listen to each driver on its own first and nail down the initial settings before getting to that step. That comes after my whole list. ie, don't do any settings at high volume but go back and compensate later.

ALWAYS listen to the drivers on their own first and second. First thing I do is listen to a single driver and adjust the crossover and levels to give me an idea of problems etc. Do this on multiple songs. After doing that for all drivers I start to listen in pairs and adjust the phase. Then rudimentary level setting between the driver set. Then all combinations for phase between sets. Once that is done I start to tinkle with slopes. Nail the slopes then t/a. Nail the t/a then eq. Then I revisit everything I did and go through the process many more times. As I always tell people, expect your active setup to sound worse than passives for the first few weeks. And don't run a processor you can't control from up front. 3 way is an order of magnitude more involved than 2. Sure you can pull short cuts, but for god's sake then just take the passive shortcut. But seriously I can't re-iterate more strongly that you should listen to every driver on its own. (call subs "one" driver)
  16. J, are the outer a/c vents re-routable? If so, I'd know what I'd do. STOP typing in ellipses, its annoying as well. Almost the same as ultra long run-on pointless sentences and all caps. Alpine plates, sounded great? At least we know why you like what you like now.
  17. They are also less reliable and more prone to failure. And in normal operation they shouldn't blow or trip which means its a huge waste of money. Add that to really liking to know when you have a problem so you can address it, I think CB's are a dumb alternative.

I don't listen to any of it really right now and haven't since the mid-90's but even then there wasn't any new stuff really. Obviously exceptions but not so many.

I am not much of a Tosh fan. Had some interesting tracks, but I'm an album guy.

I fucking hate the name nightshade. So many NS threads and I get excited briefly everytime until I realize no way can it be true and sure enough Nightshade

Steel Pulse, Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Lee Scratch Perry, pre-overproduced Bob M Heck of a start there.
  22. Since you nixed kicks, I see 3 choices that I'd choose based on other factors. 2 way with a ~7" in the door and the tweet in the a pillar, 3 way with the biggest thing you can fit in the door with the biggest mid you can fit up top and a tweeter above it, or 2 way with the biggest thing you can fit in the door plus a 3" full ranger on axis up in the pillar or if you are willing cut into your dash.
  23. The whole preface is even confusing to me. What about all around is beneficial? If there is anything, how does it compensate for wreaking havoc on the frequency response. IMO its never worth the mess it makes.
