Looks like a chili pepper rip off If the original is any indication it's somewhere between a Cayenne and an X5 We did a bunch of work in the chassis integration on that rig. HUGE improvement over the previous generations and better than anything GM has ever even thought about making. It's really hard to imagine Chrysler making a decent suv after what the Durango did to their image. Not saying I don't believe you, but it'll be a tough sell. Its not a Durango, but an ML with a Chrysler pushrod V8. Really mature chassis, drivetrain, electronics package so it should be solid in that aspect as well. The Jeep that shares its underpinnings is nicer though.
  2. No the people of SSA believe Kevin is crap, he is not. HE was not a dealer he was undercutting SSA which is bad. Ohh, so hes not an actual dealer then? Makes sense, he offered me 295 shipped for two VVX12s. I looked at the FI Xs and they dont look like they would be on the same level of the other ones. On Fis site they claim they are their entry level subs. With the BP option they are great woofers, don't only look at RMS. All are good options, seriously as said before flip a coin and you won't be set wrong. True that. But with the price added together those add up to be 342 shipped. So VVX are still in the lead. Race ends Tuesday when I get paid! you get what you pay for. I wouldnt buy the cheapest. And if that is your deciding factor you should buy used anyways.

Am not ! Finished a prototype LED power supply, cut some wood for the work bench and installed a huge vice, organized some stuff in the garage (ever since moving i nothing was in place) and put together a customer's SPL box. Sweet What sort of supply? Amplified zenner, it's in the pics, very tiny. Don't have an inductance meter yet to build a buck converter. High power app? Depends on what Darlington transistors I can find. Parts shop said they had some 60A ones. 50 LED's shouldn't be a problem for a 60A transistor. Went to a movie tonight otherwise the 9 LED proto would have been ready. Weekend out of town (company payed trip), maybe I'll finish it tomorrow afternoon Dying to see what yours is for

Bet they'll find a new form of uncertainty, 50ns isn't exactly a HUGE margin for error.
  8. Obviously NO business ethics continue. All the more reason NO ONE should ever do business with Kevin
  9. Again you show you cannot read. I've not yet made a comment on the Skar drivers good or bad. Unlike yourself though I don't have a bloated e-boner for something that doesn't deserve it. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing special about the Skar driver and even more amusing if there was the owner wouldn't understand it. His goal is to make a buck and that's it. His history proves that. Perhaps he can grow up and change, but either way he doesn't deserve your blind misled faith.

That tutorial leaves out some details. Not in its content or explanation, but the reality of recordings and ratings on amps it isn't what I'd do.

I wonder if this is undercutting the SSA store. Wouldn't surprise me. It isn't appropriate either way.

How long ago was this? Not making an old joke, I'm just curious. 12-6 years ago I was relatively in that scene. I don't think much has changed. I don't frequent them, but Datsik was an absolute blast last summer. Last one I went to was in 1994

If that was a reference to what I think it is I hope you don't find that moron entertaining. Wasn't actually anyone in particular, but I know who you are referring to and am going to go look for their latest goodies.

Lovely Guess I won't keep mine post warranty.
  16. I've never had a single problem out of Kevin and he has nothing but supplied great customer service to me and other customers that I've had contact him he always responds to my emails in about an hour on most occasions I've had several personal transactions with him and he has shipped same day every order as long as a get payment early enough in the day or next day at latest from my PERSONAL experience he has has been a great guy to deal with One persons positive response is not a significant sampling. Others have been burned rather badly. The MAIN differentiator between these drivers is customer support. Of course there are design differences based on compromises for cost or another means. Generically in business I would consider the company with the better customer support to understand these compromises better. So that being said. Out of those, no Skar.
  17. Why force yourself to eq when you don't have to? The goal is always to minimize processing IMO. Obviously when you need it you need it, but having to use it is one thing and avoiding using it better. Everything is a compromise but I'd try not to have your mid peak like that.
  18. Anything but Skar.
  19. Vented? Doubt you have that much space, should be comparing IB to sealed...until you measure the actual size of what you build. And you don't want that peak...

Indeed. Amusing really. If I don't like a band a year or so down the road it's a pretty strong indication that they were shitty to begin with. I still have the first album I ever bought myself and still listen to it on occasion. Sean would hate the dance music I have on the can's at work during the day to keep me cranking along. What kind of dancing? The sweaty kind that european women love in massive night clubs that don't close until sunrise. Yep, you lost me. Not sure how that is exciting or relaxing WITHOUT the women. Even with the women I fail to see how its exciting or relaxing...but to each his own... Then earplugs & women.
  21. I wouldn't call it a good plan so far. Making it very hard on himself to be successful with his goals if they are truly SQ.
  22. Just do a standard ported. If you are that far from being in the "know" the end result won't be as good. Trying something new is a horribly stupid reason for doing something unless you plan to do all the design work and are willing to build three+ different enclosures to compare so you can actually learn. Saying that another way, if the try is to learn then carry on. If its to try, then don't.
  23. There not even worth the flimsy outer mold. I will never use them again or even recommend them. Worst thing is there not even sealed. Funny you say that because I'm actually planning on cutting open the back of mine once there finished. How much are you planning on cutting out? Q-Logic has no back what so ever, meaning they are flimsy as hell. Mine won't flex or bend at all. Not sure how much I'll cut out, I'll probably take a sharpie to the back, outlining the hole, then post it up to see what Sean or Brad have to say. Listen to them first sealed is what I'd say. It also wouldn't hurt to measure the volume of the "enclosure" and model them with your drivers and then model them IB to see the difference. Then relisten and see if the difference is desirable. If so, then its time to vent into the fender. Most likely venting will be your friend unless you end up with some serious volume.
