  1. In what way? So far with no reasons I have to assume placebo.

You were taught wrong. Proper technique is for the chef to season and if you want to adjust afterwards, by all means. hmmm I was under the impression that when pepper got to cooking temperatures it turned gave off bitter flavors, but like I said I'm no cook. I'll try it your way next time Well some peppers burn which can give you "bitter" flavors, but that isn't the case here. I feel sad everytime I hear of red meat being cooked beyond medium rare. Very sad.
  3. That's pretty much hitting the nail on the head. The builder was doing his job and built me a definite ground pounder cuz that's what everyone was telling me to do. "If you think it sounds good sealed, wait till you go ported" but after about a week I realized it wasn't geared toward my taste or playlists. I enjoy low lows like anybody else, but it came at the expense of bass that hit hard, and it produced stuff that seemed a bit muddy for me... That's when i started missing the old setup I really hate the new trend of everyone recommending seriously low tuning. For most listeners it is a bad idea. Well aside from output.. What won't it? This was one of my 1st ported enclosures and it was LOUD... but not as accurate throughout the frequency range as I'd hoped. It definitely had a huge gain of probably more than 3db around the tuned frequency, but it was so much I couldn't just EQ it out and still have it sound good.. Well at least to me. Huh? I asked you that question since you are drawing the wrong conclusions. Had you said some about group delay and explained how you could hear it, then fine or if you preferred the shallow natural HP of the box on the sealed enclosure, or if you were unloading the driver below tuning I'd accept your answer. Other than those points though the ONLY benefit that the sealed enclosure has is that it is pretty idiot proof to "design" and build one. I see this as a classic case of either your designer not knowing what he was doing or doing what he thought you wanted by asking questions and not getting the real need out of you. It isn't trivial to do, but by no means whatsover are any of your problems or concerns with your current system related to a ported enclosure. **it may be the Skar's. I've never held one, looked at one, modeled one (in a non-BP) and nor will I. Not sure what they were designed for how/why but I know enough about Kevin that I am flat out not interested in them. Not saying its them or its not them, just clarifying that they may also have been a poor choice for your enclosure or they could have been fine. At the same time, I'll tell you the time I did model them in a BP someone had that wanted a "ground pounder" the response was terrible. Of course the magic response versus output trade-off wasn't at all understood by that person but his goals were such he didn't care anyways.

Every company does the same. Mercedes owned Chrysler long enough to marry many of the platforms. Just because they no longer have ownership don't expect the platform to change. The new Jeep GC is a complete ML knockoff and because of it HUGELY improved.

What a surprise, you also have a bias towards some crappy ass drivers.

Yes, I have seen as well, seems like an idea to try. That's what I did, err, sort of. I used the pointers to make sure I was consistent with my aiming, not to aim. IE, you find the angle that you want your drivers at by testing and then I used a laser pointer in a bracket to help me aim when I glassed the driver. Aiming based on a laser is silly if it isn't in the right direction

W6's are one of my favorite drivers but fail in your application

Lighter pink = medium well. You gave the decription I just translated to culinary standards LF has $15 lobsters every Wednesday usually on fridays in the winter tho
  9. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Or the cheap ass american buyer
  10. ///M5 replied to alain's topic in Fi Technical
Why the w6 if loud is your goal? Seriously comparing apples to oranges. Based on your question no matter the answer the JL's are NOT the right sub for you.

Even the shitty Fiesta looks pretty good.
  12. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
And the new trend is that Ford is progressively getting better all the time whereas the other American manufacturers are still seriously lagging.

In Europe, your Fords look like this: and this: Can't forget the Cosworth Escort And ours look like this:
  15. Funny because their car lot is full of overpriced cars and they don't negotiate nice.

And you can sign an offer and unsign it in the same week anyways. Either way it gives you negotiation power with NI. I'd also expect that Emerson is a better place to work as NI over here seems to turn people over quickly, ie hire out of school but not keep them. Both are good options for opening other doors though They (NI) might be a bit different here, since I know a few people who have been working there for 3+ years. And at least 4 people I went to college with work there. Either way, I'm stoked to be in the position to chose between those companies. And of course I mostly interact with the sales side, not development. That probably is different meaning they just don't want to pay for a tenured salesperson. And yes, Europe is very different. Typically jobs here revolve. Either way shortly after you start you should let them know you are willing to travel long term and I would say anywhere as the experience is good and would help you get here if that is at all a goal. Had the travel talk at the interview, they even asked me if I have any problems with getting a US visa. Travel is the main advantage over NI. Huge advantage and being able to work internationally is something everyone should try an do and you are exactly the right age
  17. No worries, just wanted to make sure that no one went after Jacob for not doing a full 1W measurement when its value is dubious
  18. Indeed, good clarification, their max size is a good starting point

  20. He answered above. Just consider it a relative test. For frequency response measurements an absolute value isn't necessary and without a seriously calibrated mic and acquisition system (read expensive) calling it that would be inappropriate. I appreciate the fact that even if it is close to that he has chosen to say not a sensitivity test. Either way it would glean not so much extra information anyways considering other drivers only report sensitivity at a single frequency and once you know the relative response and that number you are pretty golden. And again, he also highlighted that these weren't even on a baffle. Doing a sensitivity test across all frequencies in that configuration won't help anyone. Don't try to read so much into the data, instead look at it objectively and see that the overall output of the drivers is really rather flat and extends low for a higher sensitivity driver. Of course that was part of the design mantra, but its nice to see it measured out.
  21. Interesting, I surely didn't get that out of your first post. What do you think the sealed box will do better? The "it doesn't play anything else well" is not the fault of being ported.
  22. Pointing at each other may not be a great idea. You tune with box size, but if you are unsure what you want start with Kicker's rec'd. They are usually closer to being real than other mainstream brands.
