Saw a set at Ultimate Electronics today for $189 Personally I don't like them, but you might.
  2. Sort of out of business. Recently closed the doors due to an owner dispute. H701, MS8, 360.3 and the list goes on.

I'd call that a midbass Midrange are the fullrangers you put up top.
  4. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
No, the mids on top of each other in the pillar You can always turn it down if it is too much power. Never something I'd worry about.

    SICK of conference calls
  6. I prefer something digital that you can control from up front as it makes adjustments easier. Image Dynamics makes car specific horns

Is that what the grate is made of? Just thought it was porcelain coated steel Ha, I just figured it was stainless. The Vikings is. If you buy an upgrade do yourself a favor then and choose stainless not cast.

Now I just need my ankles to stop hurting and I'm golden.
  11. I'd probably win which would be funny considering I have the stock HK system in my ML63 and NOTHING extra. You should really stop e-gurgitating the crap you read from your e-boner friends. It just makes you look thick headed. The Blues stuff is 80's technology that is absolutely NOTHING special. For 20% of the money you can buy better drivers from PE, and there are plenty of options. Why don't you actually try reading something for once instead of having someone else design your stuff and then perhaps you'll actually have a comment worth posting instead of just putting the popcorn guy in every thread. And as stated, simple is relative and you need to compare to what the OP was going to do. So yes, can be, not sure why you don't get that.

Cast grates are made for grills that cannot get hot so something will "sear" the meat.

I personally don't understand the cast iron grate. Just keep the stainless clean and it is better in EVERY aspect.
  14. Do you ever actually post any information? Or just the popcorn guy and arbitrary statements. ANYTHING loud will be a lot of work. First step on the horns is to see if you have the space. No harder than building kickpods, just a different installation required. As for the 10's, you could also use 8's or something else highly efficient but that will depend on your mounting space. Obviously it will be easier to mount a single pair of drivers than three in one door anyways. The only extra work will be some eq work to tame the horns, but that is really simple as compared to trying to make a big pile of tweeters and mids sound good. Just have to cut out the anomalies which is really not all that hard. Not sure how you think its a butt load of money either. Should actually be less than his original idea. But I guess we shouldn't be surprised when you are still stuck running a late 80's fad of Isobaric drivers, but have no idea why other than you know the guy who designed them.
  15. What exactly would you want the rears to "fill" in?
  16. What's to not understand? How are they junk? Beat me to it. Some people have weird biases. That Lambo sure looks like a Fiero kit to me, but of course by default the car is sort of a caricature of itself anyways.
  17. If it pulled off the connector then you pulled from the wrong spot. Had you grabbed the connector like you are supposed to it wouldn't have happened. I have over 3000' of monoprice wire in my house and have nothing negatice to say about.
  18. That plate comes out but won't make that much difference. What have you done aiming wise? How did you set your gains in both vehicles you are comparing?

When are you giving yours a listen?
  20. None of those are void free at HD, at least not mine. Considering I'd just use MDF.
  21. And what do you mean by tighter?

Can you explain what do you mean with vertical array? Is 200W a piece too much for a mid? I don't want a front that you can't stay in the car if it is all the way up/"open the doors, get the party starting". I'm looking for superb sound throughout the whole listening range(without the lows ofc) that can keep up with one or two 18s in the back if needed. The car will be for my pleasure not for shows, so NO to horns? Not too much, more might even be okay. Depends on those mids. I don't follow the NO horns yet. Is there a reason you don't want them? Vertical is two drivers on top of each other instead of besides each other. Think of ANY home audio speaker and the orientation wiht multiple woofers

Plate setter yes, pizza stone is best purchased as a piece of landscaping slate from Home Depot for $2
