Welcome to the IHoP
last I heard it was 821 mrem/hr at the site boundary; considering that anything about background levels at the site boundary is usually a cause for alarm, its quite troubling. Even my father, with 20+ in the industry, said "holy shit!" when he heard the radiation levels http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana_equivalent_dose Wow, twice that of Brazil nuts. Whoop de fucking do. Nice job with the media there.

You should weigh your true costs. Buying - selling + maintenance + insurance + gas and then make the decision. At some point a more fun car is worth it, at others it isn't at all.

Welcome to the IHoP
The S8 could easily be a contender. The B7 as well. Just winter and towing make them not really on the list.

Need some help!!
I would NOT buy any 6x9's and I wouldn't buy any rears. Tons of options for the front comps though. Get rid of the super tweeters as well. Ugh.

Do I have this right? (sealed/ported question)
Everything is box dependent, but generically speaking the gains may not be noticeable. Exactly why space is always my first question in an install (which you remember from your other thread)

I am going to go drive a new Chili Pepper Turbo and see if that statement holds though. I have a feeling that might stir me a bit.

Welcome to the IHoP
Bold statement. The caveat is of course *based on my current needs* ie, without a major lifestyle change. Two car seats, can tow my trailers, etc...

double/triple layering
void free actually. If you didn't buy it in small sheets or pay at least $65 for a sheet it definitely is not good plywood. Lining it with MDF would be a great idea. The point of fiberglass in a box is not for strength. Resin is not a strengthener and even mat is not so great at flat areas. There are ways to use mat and rope to add strength, but you are better off with just wood. That doesn't mean the SPL'heads don't have a reason for glassing the inside of their box, it just isn't for strength but again a strong, rigid box is not always the loudest.

Welcome to the IHoP
I can't think of any vehicle at any price that I'd rather have to drive everyday. I would prefer the updated GPS and phone integration of a newer one, but not at what it would cost me. So yes.
