Welcome to the IHoP
what sort of camping stuff? Campmor normally has some pretty good deals, but if you want high end stuff there are better choices. My friends talked about there, sierratradingpost, rei outlet, and campsaver. Not sure what range I'm looking at for now. I know my friends back pack he got for 120 is on sale at camp more for 80 now If you are looking for a backpack you HAVE to try it on and with a load. Do not just order something you think fits. They fit like shoes.

double/triple layering
Well, the goal is to be loud obviously and to also have a solid box. I do not want a box that is moving back and forth in my car. I also do not want to lose any airflow to other places other then the port. If you have only one shot at it, I'd brace it and double up.

Ibanender I quoted your contradiction. I know you are just trying to change the subject. As for experience, you shouldn't make assumptions on that either as they are wrong. Some of us question the whys when we do things and don't just accept it, you should think about that yourself for once.

I know, just your analogy was one most people fail on so I answered. If your car is designed to run on 87 it will make less power and be less efficient on 93.

Not ideal, but it works

And flaring your own is an even more serious bitch. I've flared plenty of copper, never steel, but never had a problem with copper. Stainless steel and copper aren't even similar. Hard as hell and splits easy.

want to build 2cubic foot box for fi ssd 10, too big?
No, don't. Doesn't mean you can't build the box that way. Not like you will get anywhere near 2cuft anyways. Build the box. Then measure it exactly. Put in enough hard stuff to compensate for the extra volume and make it back to the range Fi suggests. Problem solved.

SQ setup in Ford Ranger
I think you are ignoring the best advice here so far. Considering you are budget limited you should only run one sub.

That one is easy. If it isn't designed to only run on premium you should never use it.

Welcome to the IHoP
Considering this was your third comment I am sold, with one caveat. This one WILL get pissed on, is it still what you'd use? Yeah. It is the one with the terry cloth like material on top and then a waterproof layer under it. That em effer can hold a lot more fluid than one might think. Ok, sweet. Aidan can fill up an overnight diaper and drench his sheets. Hasn't in a month or so, but am sure it wil happen again.

Other option is a third party. Adds more to shipping but if you aren't 1000% it is an option.

saz1500d v.1 v.s dd m1a?
If numbers are inaccurate why have them? What does it prove? Again, if it were reported with the uncertainty of measurement then they would be valid. And to your second question, ratings are NOT accurate. How do you think crap sold at Walmart can carry the ratings they do? There are no tests that are valid that the manufacturers will pay to do. Don't pick on Jacob for doing it wrong. People like you are the reason he does it at all. There is a misconception amongst the car audio followers that requests these sort of tests. Based on his equipment he is doing what he can, but its only real purpose are to satisfy cravings of those who don't understand. Personally I would much, much rather buy from Jacob than DD and have a lot more respect for his products. Does that mean I've compared numbers exactly on them? No, and I don't care as I am worried about a slew of other things and not chasing tenths on a meter. I'd figure out my uncertainties, minimize them, and then design a test that will show me something repeatable. Of course in my case it would include measuring distortion, but doing what I do means I have access to all sorts of gear like this for free.

Final Questions
Pros, shorter port smaller box Cons, port noise and perhaps some measurable (although probably not by ear) loss in output

Sundown Z tuning
Frequency content of the music makes a big difference. For what my sister listens to i'd tune significantly higher.

Peel and Seal?
Does chicken flavored sauce mean its made from chicken? Do a little reading on SDS's site and come back and ask a question from that material. It should make it obvious. (Link in my sig)

Sundown Z tuning
Depends on the "rap" you listen to. Most likely you will be louder for what you listen to if you port higher
-
double/triple layering
Depends on the goal. Strength is just a very small part. Not having active modal responses in the operating frequency of the driver another. (Modal includes frequency and damping).

Craptastic. We determined Kevin is a jackhole again!

I thought you were a jackhole before and you are doing more to promote that feeling than remove it.
