I don't think it would work for them. They need the air flowing over the car for down force. F1 is all about controlling down force. That's what gives them the control they have. If you're stalling the air, you are decreasing the down force which will help top speed, but when you go to take a turn at 150mph, you are dead meat. You'd just need to change the "wings" then. Obviously a lot more to it, but if you can cut the wind better you'd gain a lot of speed adding downforce is easy in comparison. The efficiency gains if real would definitely pay off. Again a guess, but I can't imagine it not being the case.

This has been common knowledge for quite some time. I can understand why it has not been done on commuter cars as I don't think it would be too attractive and not many people would like it, but on semis, trains, and plains, this could save so much energy it's ridiculous. The ONLY negative I see is repairs. It would be almost impossible to match a curved surface without replacing an entire panel. I would say, on a semi, train or airplane they probably replace the entire panel anyways because its cheaper to replace it then to keep the machine down for that long. I'm sure an engineer could come up with a easy way to manufacture dimples into it They are stamped anyways, just change the die. Real easy. Obviously the benefit isn't so real though otherwise they would. An no, they don't I've been up fclose to many.

Good point. F1 budgets would allow them to do a TON of research on optimizing it as well.

BL's do NOT need that much power. You already answered your own question.

On the bright side, I sure HOPE we get smart and play Webb next week. Making Frazier the interim wouldn't be a bad idea either.

  12. Lol, noobtastic. You obviously drink the wrong kool aid. Snake oil probably will help too, huh? And that means what? That's right absolutely nothing. If there is a huge difference it is measurable objectively. If it were important those measurements would then be posted all over the place, so in that case please provide a link to someone reputable who has done those measurements. Interesting that you change your tune after getting called out and add the word "external". Either way that will not make the box smaller as the OP will still need the SAME volume for the port whether it is internal or external so it won't help the small box need. Nice try to make it look like you actually knew that it wouldn't work, lol.
  13. Obviously you are unfamiliar with what gets actually played in music....or listen to really ridiculous shit.

Of course so is the C class, but add the AMG treatment and things change.

It is a chicks car, with a great fucking engine. No more a chicks car than the only other thing I had it narrowed down to. This or a Porsche Cayenne, but the kicker was I couldn't get work to spring for the turbo but the AMG worked. If the W weren't pregnant again and we only had one car seat to deal with I'd have an 07 M5 or an 07 Alpina B7. Car seats x2 and being 6'7" just don't work. That made me narrow it down to things that would work and then could also tow. Thought about a new Exploder and some mods, but this is the same dough to me and sitting on the inside of one is a WEE bit different in a better way. Has ALL the goodies. I'm glad you said it first. That being said, you wouldn't see me being ashamed of driving it. All SUV's are to me. Soccer mom they scream. The exceptions are Yukon/Expedition and the Escalade, but the Escalade is a hood rats car.

Pickup towed my boat/snowmobile and hauled jr although the E/C sucks for car seats. The BM'er was reasonably quick and fun to drive. The ML should do both.

No you did not. Did you hate it? No actually. Beat Murrays. I got that big bludgeon of beef. Asked for it rare and I got it. I did order it with the intention of not finishing it however. Manager gave us a free desert. The wife and I enjoyed it greatly. Did you actually think i thought you hated it? Nope. You recomended it in fact. Oh, I love it there. The way you stated it I wasn't sure.

I cringed when I read that ^^ Why? Because it sounds better than what you have already? Notice I said probably. Is that a yessss? No actually I'm contemplating active, currently running Bravox CS60CF's on a BOSS REV-665 and an Alpline 9887 I'l take that as a yes. We'll see though. I haven't even turned on th estereo in one yet. Brad loved the CS60's, I had to jump on them, and the BOSS being a ZED amp speaks for itself Install is everything, equipment isn't really all that much of an important part of the equation
